According to the Oxford Dictionary, sanitation refers to the provision of clean drinking water and adequate sewage disposal. In the advent of modern technology, the first world countries always equip themselves with high-tech sanitation system to facilitate their community. However, this scenario does not occur in the underdeveloped countries. These nations are often back staged in every aspect including sanitation due to extreme poverty. If we pause to reflect into the lives of the poor, underprivileged people, we would be taken aback on the findings. The poverty-stricken households in the country with handful resources have limited chances to earn a living. They live in shacks without proper toilets to remove their waste products. They end up return natures call by urinating or defecating where ever they wish to. Waste materials dissolve in water, permeate into the soil and then return to the water source. The contaminated water source becomes a breeding area for bacteria and vectors. As a result, the community becomes vulnerable to chronic, water-borne diseases. Statistics produced by World Health Organization dictates that an estimated 1.5 million child mortality in Africa occur due to diarrhoea simply because of poor sanitation system in the country. The alarming figure must ring in every individuals mind to pursue radical approaches in order to introduce a dignified and hygienic way of life to the underprivileged ones. As a subject of the world, we should support the formation of nongovernmental organisation to increase public resonance on this matter. Our main notion is to initiate proper sanitation system by building enough toilets and providing essential education on sanitation to the poor. Therefore, there is an overriding need to be financially credible to satisfy the need of the emergent nation. In order to collect fund, the philanthropist around the world should be urged to be a patron to this mission for a noble cause. The philanthropist would not mind to spare a sum of money to the organization for the suffering ones in the yet to develop countries. On the other hand, awareness should be embarked worldwide via media or social networking to help to reduce the pain and sufferings endured by the underprivileged nation due to improper sanitation. Social networking helps us to the people from different part of the world and passes around the message for helping the poor. Besides that, campaigns prove to be the best resort to create awareness and gain support from the public. Therefore, when integrity and

financial aid is gained, there is no hurdle which stops the non-governmental organization from moving forward and rendering a helping hand to the underdeveloped countries. Looking at a different perspective, the governments of countries around the world can make a difference by playing parts in helping the underdeveloped countries to build adequate sanitation systems in their country. A national conference comprising leaders from different part of the globe is necessary to be held to address the issue at a global platform. Tackling this issue requires approaches on many fronts. Opinions from the leaders are essential to be noted down and considered. They should have a roundtable discussion and resort to developed mutual understanding with the underdeveloped country and conclude with a stand to help the underprivileged nation establish proper sanitation system in their country without expecting any personal benefits. Developed countries can provide assistance by various means such as financial support and provide high-tech facilities for the sanitation system prior to the needs of the emergent nation. This would significantly alleviate the burden posed to the government of the third-world countries which are lack of resources to fulfil the needs of their nation. This measure would not only help to rescue the world from the siege of deadly illnesses but also will unite the world regardless of culture, creed, skin colour and status. The ruling body of the underdeveloped countries must create a revamp in their country by organising a national campaign entitled introducing proper sanitation for the welfare of their nations. In this campaign, the government is urged to make full use of the financial aid and equipments provided by other countries and organisation to propagate hygienic lifestyle in their community. Firstly, fully-equipped, simple public toilets must be built in higher frequency especially in highly-populated area. Besides that, biodegradable bags can be provided to the households for emergency purposes and these bags must be disposed properly. Sewage disposal system must be built to channel all the waste product to a designated area. Also, the water source must be purified constantly. Most importantly, education on sanitation must be provided to the poor on cleanliness of the toilets and how to maintain the standard of sanitation. The primary purpose of providing education on sanitation is to eradicate ignorance of the underprivileged ones on sanitation. They should not be blamed later on due to their ignorance on sanitation. In conclusion, the ruling party plays the paramount role in initiating sanitation system in

their country and should not depend on other parties such as the non-governmental organisation. In a nutshell, protracted efforts from different bodies are essential to achieve success in introducing a proper sanitation system in the underdeveloped countries. Every individual plays a vital role in materialising the mission. A little contribution would significantly help to achieve the dream of many souls. Therefore, we are obliged to serve the poor and underprivileged ones regardless of their race, creed and culture. When we help the poor, we will be rendered help in the times of hardship. As the saying goes what goes around comes around. Every moment seems to be bitter moments for the emergent nation as threat to their wellbeing is glooming over them. At every corner of the countries, the cries of the innocent children are echoing. Unfortunately, who hears them? Therefore, the time has now come for us to surmount all the challenges and go forth to save the underprivileged people from the jaws of hell they face every day. Lets not delay any longer from fulfilling our responsibilities. Lets put a broad smile on the faces of the children who are in pain. Lets do it now or never.
