Debenhams department store
I have improved my technical skills while working on this account,
specially in detail development, fixture design and material
knowledge. Implementing the new Debenhams concept for the first
time internationally has implied specification of all materials, sign off
and approval of the locally proposed samples and locally produced
fixtures.
Managing a project like this from a design perspective involves team
leading skills, to coordinate technical details and ensure day to day
update design to reflect site conditions.
Coordination with client is also an important point to ensure successful
completion. Retail is a very demanding sector, quickly moving, with
constant updates based on customer and operations feedback. which
need to be picked up on time and implemented os soon as possible.
I have been working in the Debenhams account for over 3
years, designed and managed together with the rest of the team over 8
complete stores in Malaysia, Kuwait, Egypt, UAE, Philipines, Russia and
Iran, and are currently working on new projects in Egypt, Qatar,
Romania and Croatia.

Mothercare, multiple locations 2012/2015
Drawing review, together with handling communication with the
client are two of the main tasks and skills I have improved while
working on this account.
The challenge in managing the design for this brand strides in the
fastmoving pace of the projects. Design works are completed from
schematic to design pack ideally in two weeks,. An added challenge is the
remoteness of the locations, which oblligues me to accurately review all
information received to ensure accuracy of design, in a very reduced
time.
II have worked in the Mothercare account for over three years, manag-
ing the workload, team distribution, as well as liasing with the client to
ensure timely delivery of projects. The big amount of stores that this
brand opens every year obligues the design team to handle timelines
very accurately to comply with deadlines, while maintaining quaility
and updated track of all design changes and particularities in each of
the regions covered (Middle East, Far esat Asia, India South America,
and Europe, including Russia)

Le Mall, casual dining, KSA 2014
My main responsibility in this project was to coordinate the
architectural and urban design of the whole space to
ensure the different restaurants would sit properly next to
each other while maintaining their brand image and
identity. At the same time we were in charge of the
landscape, urban and architecture design to adapt the
existing building to suit the new use provided.
Urban and landscape design, together with material
specification and coordination and supervision of all
interior design concepts to ensure compliance with the
guidelines provided
2012
The Development of this concept was a great opportunity to explore the
food and beverage world, understanding all technical requirements, as
well as materializingthe brands aspirations of freshnes and healthy
lifestyle.
The concept design referred to the freshness of the product through
bright colours, and originally combined with white acrilic and whit
tiles in the BOH /preparation area to give the image of neatness
against the brightness of the colored front. The final design was
slightly modified to incorporate wood to make it “warmer” as a
request from the client..
Wrap it! was a new food concept developed by our client that needed
both a brand image and a design for the first outlet to be built in
Villagio Mall, Qatar. The food concept was a healthy and fast salad and
wrap bar. We had to send the message of a fresh product, healthy and
“young”. I designed the logo, the brand colour identity and the interior
concept.

I used sketch up and photoshop to create the renders, and autocad to
draw the plan. The furniture specification was a big part of the project as
the brief implied a clear guideline in this subject.
The brief was to design the interior spaces for a Villa, owned by a
traditional arab family, designed in a contemporary style. There was a
request for a family majlis, a formal majlis, a library and several rooms.
Taking the existing architecture as a guide I designed a fluid and open
space that could acomodate all uses.

The leading, coordination and social skills developed in this project have
helped me throughot my career. I was encouraged to take design
decisions, understanding the importance of anyllisis, reflexion and give
directions on time which is key to design coordination.
Designing many of the interiors here, while supervising the site devel-
opment of the three buildings, and providing technical solutions to the
challenges that appeared on site. Improved my knowledge on site
management, material specification, as well as design coordination.
I worked on this project together with the office principal as a
consultant architect. Main responsibilities were ensuring compliance
with project design, rethinking new solutions to solve site constraints,
and design all interior spaces.

Lorca university campus. LCU.Spain
This Design Hub comercial space was planned to be a flexible space
that could host conferences, seminars, group working sessions, an
mulyiple activities related to design orientation and investigation .The
added challenge was a very low budget. as acces doors, little
reading&meeting cubicles
We worked on the basis of opening the space to the pedestrian street
sitting in front of the unit, by breaking the facade with a two reused
cargo containers, that served several uses, as access point, meeting
room or reading&study retreat. The materials used responded to the
low budget and a reference to construction, sustainability and
reciclyng, with exposed brick walls and cartoon tubes as claddings.

Developing a full architeture project, from concept design to
construction development drawing set, with structural, MEP and
architectural coordinated details. This final year project was much of an
introduction to real life projects. while combining it witha job as design
coordinator of a housing project , I applied all knowledge compiled
through the study of my architecture master degree.
