Sunset Café – A Culinary Delight

With waves almost lapping at your table and a cool breeze, it’s no surprise that a beautiful oceanfront ambience and superb cuisine have made the Sunset Cafépopular not only with guests but island residents as well.Live lobsters, fresh mussels (reserve them well in advance), the catch of the day, escargots in a bleu cheese

sauce – these and many other dishes will make your taste buds salivate. Chef Alexandre and his wife

Chantal are the driving force behind the success and popularity of the Sunset Café, open for breakfast,

lunch, dinner and Happy Hour seven days a week. In addition to these signature dishes, Chef Alexandre

offers “special value” entrees.

If you prefer to dine in the comfort of your room, then opt for room service or carry out. The Sunset

Café also offers a children’s menu, which includes the option of downsizing adult dishes. •The Culinary Capital

Several hundred yards from the Grand Case Beach

Club is Grand Case Village, the culinary capital of

the island. Among those restaurants most familiar

to our repeat guests are Pascal’s L’Auberge Gour-

mand, Spicy, Ti Provençal, Taste A Vin, Bistro

Caraibes, L’Escapade, Spiga and the Fish Pot.

For more informal dining, many visitors

enjoy the Lolos, the street-side, mostly open-air

places where lobster and freshly caught fish are

cooked to order on grills.

Marigot, the capital, also boasts many

fine dining restaurants, including Le

Tropicana, Le Galion, Chanteclair,

La Belle Epoque, La Brasserie de la

Gare, and L’Oiseau Rare. •The Sunset Café’s incomparable cuisine and view.

And the Awards Keep Coming

Grand Case Beach Club Wins Another Expedia Award...Expedia, one of the world’s largest on-line travel companies, has again added the Grand Case Beach Club to

its “Insiders’ Select List.” This exclusive list represents only a small percentage of the more than 135,000

hotels and resorts that are available through Expedia world-wide. Inclusion

is based on actual guest reviews.

“This is especially important because the Grand Case Beach Club is the

only St. Martin resort to be recognized by Expedia as top producer of

travel to St. Martin,” said General Manager Steve Wright.

Wright added that it is especially gratifying that the hard work and

investment by the staff, owners and management have been supported

for such a significant period of time by this major international

company. This recognition by Expedia and the resort’s other major

partners has resulted in bookings from 49 states in the U.S., and

from Asia, Africa, Canada, Europe and Latin America.

...And Yet Another “Golden Apple”The Grand Case Beach Club has won a sixth consecutive “Golden Apple” award from

Apple Vacations, a major producer of travel not only to our resort but to the rest of the Caribbean as

well. Apple cited us for our excellent service and hospitality, which has resulted in strong customer satisfac-

tion and an increase in repeat bookings. •

Sailing Excursions

For years, the ScoobiTwo and its sister vessel, the

ScoobiThree, have been offering a variety of day

sails and dinner cruises from the Grand Case Beach

Club’s docks. They visit Prickly Pear and Tintamarre,

Anguilla and St. Bart’s. Check with the water sports

desk for departure times. •Meet Laura Pikullis

Chances are that when you call the Grand Case

Beach Club’s reservations department you’ll be

connected to Laura Pikullis, a prototypical multi-

tasker who also updates the resort’s Facebook page

and coordinates wedding receptions, which have

been steadily growing in popularity.

Multi-lingual, Laura, who has been at the

Grand Case Beach Club for 1 1/2 years, speaks

French, English, German and some Spanish. Born

in French Guiana, she migrated to Germany and

then back to the Caribbean. •
