    SANABILis an educational project ofJamiat Sanabil ul Khairwhich has been founded withthe spirits of humanity service. It is now one of the leading, non-profit and independent

    charitable organizations of Pakistan, which has a range of activities for the serving of

    humanity. Formally registered in 2002 by Moulana Muhammad Amin Haleem(Late) but

    operating since 1992, Jamiat Sanabil has an extensive track record of humanity service.

    Constructing Masajid, installing hand pumps and water tanks, caring orphans, educating

    children, providing shelter, food and other necessaries of life to needy persons, has always

    been the focused areas of working of JSK in Pakistan. JSK is expanding its operations to

    education sector at school and college level initially whole of Pakistan aiming to provide best

    academic excellence.

    Mission Statement

    SANABIL aims to establish institutions that intends to build a generation of practical

    Muslims having ability to lead in every sphere of life as ambassadors of Islam and

    representatives of Muslim Ummah. These institutions become a flag bearer of standards,

    contribute towards the preparation of a new generation of Hafizes, Alims (scholars) Daees

    (educators) along with honest and sincere doctors, engineers, scientists, educationists,

    beurocrate and leaders for the world..

    To develop pupils tarbiyat [training] by teaching them the basis of aqaaid (creed),

    ibaadah [worship] , deeni taleem [ knowledge] and meaa-sharah (community relations) so

    they may grow up to be balanced, pious, upright individuals educated in Islamic and cultural

    etiquette with the capacity to understand and work with individuals from other countries.

    To raise awareness in every family how to raise children with good Islamic moral

    values and how to behave as a good Islamic person individually in various aspects of life based

    on the sunnah in the life of prophet Muhammad (saw).

    To achieve this goal

    SANABIL intends to follow a broad & balanced curriculum with due emphasis to Islamic Sciences,

    Arabic and the National and International Curriculum Subjects. In addition, it will create an

    environment through extra-curricular activities and examples set by all involved, in which

    students will strive to achieve their full potential academically, spiritually and socially.

    Students, after graduating from the School, will have gained the necessary skills to be able to

    pursue further and higher education, both at home Pakistan and abroad.

    CurriculumThere is a beautiful combination of Islamic and modern education .It is compulsory to get

    Islamic and modern education for the success of this world and the next world. SANABIL hasmolded its curriculum to accommodate much of the National and International

    Curriculum programmed of study along with various Islamic subjects. Our unique

    curriculum is specially designed to integrate Islam within all the subjects taught, be it Science,

    Geography, History, General Knowledge, Language or Mathematics. Through this, every

    student at SANABIL student has Allah in the heart - World in the hand.

    Islamic Sciences Curriculum SynopsisSubjects Brief descriptionQURAN

    TajweedNazraHifz.

    Reading, Tajweed and memorisation. Children will be enrolled automatically into the hifdh

    program. An individual learning plan will be produced for each child, providing theopportunity for children to have memorized the Quran before they leave the school

    TAFSIR Explanation of selected passages of the Quran. The emphasis will be on understanding thekey messages of the Quran in relation to Tawheed, the stories of the Prophets andregulations for our daily lives as well as the contexts for revelation.

    HADEETH Knowledge and understanding of the key principles of the science of hadeeth (narrationsfrom the Prophet), as well as the study of selected hadiths.

    FIQH Knowledge, understanding and application of the rules and regulations relating to acts ofworship. The emphasis will be on children applying the rules to their own lives and to thosewithin their families.

    AQEEDAH Knowledge and understanding of the core beliefs of Islam in accordance to the Quran,Sunnah and understanding of the Salaf. Some of the major books of aqeedah will be studiedduring this subject.

    SEERAH Knowledge and understanding of the life of our beloved Prophet Mohammed (peace be uponhim). The key events and their impact on the Muslim Ummah to this day. The inspirationalnature of his leadership and how we can apply this today. Authentic texts such as Raheeq alMakhtum will be used as a basis for this subject.

    NOBLEMANNERS(AKHLAQ)

    Promoting our children to live emotionally sound, healthy, independent lives, and to becomeinformed active Muslim citizens. Knowledge and understanding of other major worldreligions. This subject will lead to a qualification in Citizenship.

    Writers Guild Many children have talents in creative writings in English and ArabicUrdu articles, poems, research papers, stories, fictions. At SANABIl,professional writers will guide them and get their work published on ourmagazine and on other media.

    Media Crew SANABIl is linked to online TV studio on campus. Each student willhave opportunities to be trained up on different media activities such asRadio and TV presenting, interviewing, photographing, news reporting

    and performing.Drama Party Students will have to participate in role plays as part of their Arabic Urdu

    and English lessons, which will be further developed in our Drama Partyfor presenting on TV and live shows.

    1-Bismillah Section(Nursery,kG1,KG2)

    BS is offered for the first three years of schooling. With TTM qualified teachers and access to

    extensive Montessori material, students benefit from hands-on activities in a specially

    designed Montessori environment. A remarkably low student to teacher ratio of 10:1 helps give

    individual attention to each child.

    2-IQRA Section (Grades 1 - 2.)

    It is offered for those students who have passed Bismillah Section. It consists of two

    years.

    3-Suffa Section(Grades 3--5)

    It offers two programs;

    1-Hifz e Quran along with Modern Education

    2-Nazra e Quran along with Modern Education

    Character Building Management(CBM)

    SANABILis bound to set up high aspiration for each and every child. Our children are given

    wings to hatch high aspirations for life in this 'Dhuniya and Aakhira'. We want to create not

    the followers but the Leaders for the society. We lead the child through a step by step processin which he realize his potential, set up his life ambition and direct him how to achieve those

    ambitions and trains him to excel in which he wants to be. For example not a doctor but a

    great sincere and kind doctor whom a patient really wants to, An honest politician whom

    people admires. So the main objective of the school is to induce these values to achieve the

    Will of ALLAH by excelling their chosen profession.

    . Salah Diary

    We strongly believe that the early years is the best time to lay down the stone of faith and

    religious routines and the love for Masjid in a child's mind. Prophet (SAW) said if you

    knew the reward for Fajr salat and Isha salat in the Masjid, they would come crawling. We

    can only find a few people during the Isha and Fajr in the masjid. So Insha Allah we need to

    change the statuesque. The salat times falls within the school timing we pray them inside the

    masjid.Boys will pray the Salah at the Masjid while girls in the school. School monitors

    the children whether they pray their salat at five times a day. During the school hours class

    teachers mark in their salah Diary and while they are at home parents has to mark it. Those

    who score more will be rewarded every week at their golden time and there will be monthly

    rewards as well. We could encourage the quest for prayer through salah diary.

    Islamic behavior chart

    Instead of forcing the children to practice good values and behaviors we are giving them small

    rewards and generate the love for Islam by the means of Islamic Behaviors chart, stickers etc.

    It is been psychologically proven that positive reinforcements will be more effective to form

    and reform the character formation.

    Environment

    Sanabil provides an ideal environment which is based on strengthening one's bond with Allah

    resulting in stimulating positivity and the desire to learn, grow and succeed.

    Practice Days;

    Although every day is a practical day for a Muslim yet some days are mentioned here

    to make Islamic environment in our society..Quran Day,Dawa Day,Parents

    Day,Hurmat Day,Event Day,Salam Day,Help Day,Kalima Day,Salat Day,Zakat

    Day,Teachers Day. All these days are a practice for making practical Muslims.

    Parents

    We love to work with and involve the parents of our students. Beneficial parent support

    programs are offered in the form of workshops and Tarbiyyah sessions which provide valuable

    knowledge on child psychology and Islamic parenting in addition to supporting parents to

    reinforce their child's learning at school. Mothers are offered Fahm al-Qur'an certificatecourse through which they get an understanding of the Qur'an and learn important aspects of

    Islamic upbringing of children.

    Admission Test and Interview

    The School will intimate parents of the appointed day and time of

    test and interview of candidates and their parents respectively.

    An assessment will be conducted of the candidatesacademics and behavior skills.

    For admission to Grade I onwards admission tests of Urdu,English and Math will be carried out whereas for admission

    to Grade IV onwards, an additional test of Science will also be

    conducted.

    Note: Familys inappropriate behavior, excessive T.V. watching of

    the child and absence of Islamic environment at home may lead to

    failure in getting admission

    Selection and Admission

    The Schools admission selection committeeundergoes a fairand thorough screening process considering each application

    holistically.

    The School looks for students that have a strong academicbackground, are well-versed in English, possess good

    behavior and belong to a supportive family who desire to

    have an Islamic upbringing for their child.

    Successful candidates are notified duly by the Schooladministration via post. Successful candidates list willalso be

    made available at the School reception and uploaded on the

    website.

    Parents of successful candidates will be requested to collecta fee voucher from the school.

    Timely fee submission will ensure a candidates seat in class. Classes begin in the ------ inshaAllah.

    ADMISSIONS POLICY

    Applications are welcome from all sections of the community, and applicants will be

    taken if they meet the admissions criteria. The admission procedure is as follows:

    (1) All applicants will be asked to take the Admission Test (AT) in Arabic,English and Urdu,

    Mathematics, and Islamic Studies . A short list will be made on the basis of their

    admission test results.

    (2) Those who are not communicated within the deadline will assume that they have not

    been successful at that occasion.

    (3) The short-listed candidates will be asked to attend an interview accompanied by a

    parent/guardian. They will be interviewed by a member of the admission panel in order

    to establish the following:-

    (a) They (the student and the parent/guardian) share the schools vision.

    (b) The parents/guardians are committed to be active partners to the school.

    (c) The parents of the students have a track record of supporting Islamic causes that the

    school supports.

    (4) Places will be offered to the students who are top of the list and the rest will be kept in

    a waiting list for one year if parents show interest in writing.

    (5) The order in the waiting list will be determined by a panel chaired by the Chair of

    Principal after considering the written request from the parents in which they will explain

    how they are going to support their son in weak areas of the curriculum and so on.

    (6) Successful candidates offer will be conditional. The condition will include signing an

    agreement and paying fees for one term with in 5 days.

    Admissions Procedure

    Parents should complete the Application Form provided by the school and submit

    with a photocopy of the students birth certificate/B-form/passport. The original

    birth certificate/passport should be produced when parents attend their interview. It

    will then be checked and returned.

    Parents will have to pay a fee for the Admission Test and obtain an Admission slip in

    order for their son to take the test.

    The Admission Test is taken and a short list is made. The AT will be

    announced according to schedule.

    Parents and students are interviewed for the next academic year to initiate the

    registration process.

    Parents are informed of the outcome of the registration process and a written

    confirmation letter is sent. When an offer is made, parents are given 20 days to accept

    the offer by paying at least one terms fees, if no reply is received within this time, the

    place is offered to another applicant on the waiting list.

    Some students on the waiting list will be given priority over others if one of their

    parents works in the school or if they have brothers in the school who have

    attended for one year. They will however, have to be assessed in the same way as any

    other student hoping to come to the school.

    Acceptance of a place implies compliance with the schools policies, rules and

    regulations. Parents will be asked to sign a Fees Contract and a Home/School

    Agreement.

    Summary of Admissions Procedure

    The admission procedure is as follows:

    Step 1

    Complete the application form and sit the School Admission Test on the Entry

    Assessment Day.

    Step 2

    Those short listed are informed in writing.

    Step 3

    Offer is made to successful candidates. Parents are given 20 days to accept the offer. If no

    reply is received within this time, the place is offered to another applicant on the

    waiting list.

    Step 4

    Parent can write to the Chair of Principal within 7 days explaining why their child

    should have priority in the waiting list. In the letter they should spell out how they are

    going to overcome the areas of concerns.

    Step 6

    If fees are not paid within the due date, then the place will be offered to the next student.

    CHARGING POLICY

    Payment of Fees

    School fees are payable even when your child is unavailable to attend school due to sickness

    or for any other reasons. You will have to give at least a terms advance notice prior to

    withdrawing your child from the school. Failure to do so will result in school fees being due

    for that term.

    SANABIL does its best in trying to keep the fees affordable without compromising the

    quality of education being delivered. Fees may be reviewed to keep up with the operational

    costs. The fees payable cover the costs incurred in paying qualified teachers and buying the

    latest up to date resources. There will be no additional charge for the proposed SANABIL

    Homework club. Fees are payable per month or term in advance. monthly payment

    agreement can be requested in certain circumstances.

    The New Entry students have to pay one terms non-refundable fee to stipulate their place at

    the School.

    There are two modes of payment of the fees:

    (1) A one off payment per year paid on first month of the year of study.

    (2) Three installments paid in an year.

    (3) Fees can be paid by cheque or cash on or before the due date.

    (4) Any student fails to pay fees within the deadline may be sent home to bring the

    payment for the school.

    (5) The school provides exercise books for the students. All other expenses such as text

    book, exam fees are to be paid by the parents.

    (6) The school can increase its fees each year.

    (7) Parents are requested to contact the school office to find out the fees for the year of entry.

    Charging Policy for extra Activities

    When the school undertakes any extra-curricular activities, visits and or any other

    educational experiences it may charge the parents of participants the cost of the activities.

    The parents will be notified before the event for their consent as well as the cost. An

    activity will only go ahead when the cost per head is paid by all the participants in

    advance.

    Attendance and Punctuality Policy

    Attendance at school is a legal obligation, hence our policy:

    The school attaches great importance to both the attendance and punctuality of pupils- and

    we keep our procedures under regular review. Both school and parents have legalresponsibilities. To encourage regular attendance and punctuality by all pupils at SANABIL

    Parents should notify the school of their childs absence on the first day of occurrence (by

    9am) and ensure that written confirmation of this absence is given in a letter to the Form

    Tutor on the childs return to school which will be kept in the Tutor file/register. This will

    help us to detect truancy in its early stages. Failure to produce written confirmation will

    result in an unauthorized absence being recorded in the register.

    Unexplained absences

    Absence is only authorized for illness. The school will contact parents when concerned about

    an unexplained absence and parents are encouraged to contact us if they have any such

    explanations. Teachers should report any suspicious patterns or concerns to the relevant Form

    Tutor.

    Family holidays during term time are strongly discouraged and permission will normally be

    refused. Where a parent wishes to take their child out of school they must complete a holiday

    request form, available from reception and return this to the form tutor who will discuss the

    application with the Head teacher. Under no circumstance will a holiday of more than 10

    school days be allowed. Parents are warned that failure to adhere to these regulations can in

    most extreme cases lead to the childs removal from the school roll. Where a pupil is granted

    permission to miss school for a holiday it is the childs responsibility to see all of his/her

    teachers and ensure that all work missed has been caught up with.

    Jewellery

    On health and safety grounds we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. There

    Morning Assembly

    School starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. Every morning we will start our day with ADYA MASORA(morning supplications that Prophet Mohammad taught us).

    The morning assembly is part of the school daily activities. Students will receive points for

    attending it. It is a great way to start the school day. It gets the children ready for a

    productive day. All students are required to be in assembly ground for morning assembly at

    8:25 a.m. (Early Pre K students should be brought directly to their classroom and left with the

    teacher.) Parents may drop their children in the driveway entrance starting at 8:00 a.m.

    Students are not allowed in the building before 8:00 a.m. because there is no adult supervision

    before that time, and the school is not responsible for any child dropped off earlier than the

    designated time. All parents should pick up their children at 4:00 p.m.Parents must filean authorization form in the principals office if the parent authorizes an individual other than

    the parent or legal guardian to pick the child up during the academic year. Parents are also

    responsible for any after school care; that is, child care beyond 4:00 p.m. Classes Classes

    begin at 8:25 a.m. The class teacher will escort students after the Morning Assembly in the

    Gymnasium to the class. Students are expected to be respectful to the administration,

    teachers, and parent volunteers. Remember that we are indebted to the one who has taught

    us even one letter. Students are to be attentive, responsible, and careful of personal property

    as well as the property of others. Students must remain in classes during scheduled lessons,

    and must not leave their desks without their teachers permission. Other than cases of

    extreme emergency, students should not approach the office without their teacherspermission. Parents may be called only with the administrations permission.

    Lunch Students will report to the lunchroom in an orderly manner. Their class teachers will

    escort them.

    Lunch time

    Sanabil strongly advice all our parents need to provide their children with a suitable

    packed lunch. It would need to be balanced and healthy, for example a sandwich, pasta, rice,

    fruits and juices with low/no added sugar. It is very important that children have a balanced

    and healthy diet as this helps to increase childrens attention span. Hot meals are not yetavailable for pupils during lunch times. All packed lunches must be brought in a plastic

    container or lunch box with the child's name clearly marked on the outside. We strongly

    encourage parents to invest in their children's mental and physical health by providing

    healthy, well-balanced, packed lunches for their children. We do not allow children to eat

    sweets, crisps or chocolate bars as a part of their packed lunch . Drinks must be Halal but not

    fizzy. There is a microwave available within the school which can be used to warm up their

    food. Any child found with items that are forbidden, it will be taken away from them and will

    be held onto until the end of the day. Please encourage children to have nutritious and

    healthy food such as egg, meat, vegetables and fruits with some amount of nuts and dry fruits.

    Prayer Time Salah

    Any prayer which falls during school hours will be performed in congregation on the

    school premises with separated areas for boys and girls. When prayer times fall in the midst of

    school finishing time, children would be expected to pray before going home. All children are

    expected to respect and uphold the major tenets of Islam in or out of school. We

    expect all parents to teach their children the basics of how to pray and perform wudhu and toensure that their child understands the importance of this aspect of Islam. Please also

    remind your child about the etiquettes to observe when praying, such as to be quiet, not to

    fidget or disturb others who are praying. You cooperation in this matter is crucial and we

    suggest that parents lead by example and also encourage their child through positive praise as

    much as possible so that they build a love for praying.Salah is the second pillar of Islam.

    Students must approach it with the proper degree of decorum. Students should not

    loiter in the wudu area. Students must enter the prayer area quietly and prepare to

    line up for prayer properly.

    Unnecessary conversation is discouraged. Students must obey and respect the IslamicEducation Teacher in charge for the day. After prayer students should not loiter, but return

    to class as quietly, and as orderly as possible and always remain under the supervision of the

    respective class teacher assigned to the period following prayer. Friday Prayer Every Friday

    students (grades 3 8) will attend the Friday prayer. Their teachers will escort them to and

    from the prayer area. Students in grades Early Pre K 2nd grade may attend Friday prayer

    with a parent. This parent would pick them up from class and bring them back following

    prayer. Children are not allowed to go home directly after prayer, but must complete the

    school day on Fridays. The school no longer has Friday Activity time. Regular classes will

    continue following Jummah.

    Lavatories Student must observe the Islamic values of cleanliness in the bathrooms. Make

    sure that the water is turned off after washing. Take care of the lavatory, for the school

    belongs to each and every individual who uses it. Try to keep the r

    Break Time

    Children are given a10 minutebreak after every two sessions/periods. Children during their

    break may have a small bite such as a fruits, nuts or dates and some juice(good if its

    fresh juice with little/no added sugar) or fresh water.

    SPECIAL NOTE: if any parents wishes to give foods to any other children/s as a part of anycelebration (such as a new baby born in their family, or any other good news)we will not allow

    to give any chocolates. candies, crisps or any other unhealthy foods rather it will be

    Playground Rules During recess time, children need to observe the following rules: 1.

    Remain on school grounds and must not go beyond the playground area. 2. Take turns on the

    legs on swings. 4. Only one person going down the slide at a time. No standing or going

    equipment unless agreed upon with the teacher. 6. Must take permission to re-enter the

    building. 7. No climbing on each others back, play fighting, gun fighting, tackling, or any

    form of rough playing. 8. No throwing or playing with stones or sticks or any harmful objects.9. No playing on the playground in the morning before school starts. 10. Must follow the

    directions of the recess monitor. Parents must go over playground rules with their children.

    Complaint Policy

    At SANABIL, we aim to maintain a caring, supportive and disciplined learning environment

    where children benefit from the best possible education. All staff are committed to this

    aim. We would like to know if you think we are not meeting your expectations so

    that we have an opportunity to respond. We would also like to know your opinion on

    the things we do well. The complaint procedure will be displayed at notice board. Parents,pupils and prospective pupil can get a copy of the complaint form the reception. School has a

    systematic and positive outlook towards the feedbacks and it welcomes the complaints

    Health & Safety

    The school ensures that it maintains a safe and secure environment for all children by taking

    seriously its responsibilities as set out in the guidance of Govt of Pakistan "Health and

    Safety. Risk assessments are carried out for all areas of the school open to pupil use. This also

    applies to all school trips. Fire drills take place regularly as well as annual checks such

    as electrical testing. The school building meets all current regulations for Health & Safety.All new staff undertake an induction program which includes Health and Safety issues.

    SANABIL has a detailed policy to safeguard and promote the health and safety of the

    pupil on activities outside the school. This covers the full risk assessment and the associated

    information. Educational visits are arranged on average once a term, to various places of

    interest to support Childrens learning. Parents/guardians may be asked to contribute

    towards the cost of the trip and occasionally to assist with the trip. For the most part,

    the school provides materials and equipment that the children need. Sometimes certain

    educational activities involving sports, food, game and art may require small contributions

    from parents for the visits to take place. SANABILis pledged to meet all the health and safetymeasures in prior to all the educational visits. Pupils as well as parents are given with

    sufficient awareness classes about the particulars of the visit.

    Academic Performances

    SANABIL will assess each student thoroughly at the time of admission. There will be

    continuous and comprehensive evaluation criteria to assess the performance of the

    students throughout the academic year. At the end of the academic year the school will send

    reports to all the parents.

    Homework

    SANABIL believes that children learn the best when parents and teachers work together.

    Parents can help in the classroom by hearing children read, sharing their skills and also

    participating on outings. At home, we hope parents are able to share the enjoyment of books,

    puzzles and Maths games which children take home on a regular basis every week, and

    to hear them read regularly. Parents can also help support class work when teachers ask

    Attendance, leave and illness

    School has a strict policy on attendance and punctuality as it has great influence on the

    discipline. Parents are required to inform the school on the first day their child is absent from

    school. The school requires an explanation in writing for all absences on the childs return.

    The school discourages holidays during term time. Permission for holiday leave must be

    requested in advance from the Principal. Should your child suffer from a medical condition, it

    STAFF RECRUITMENT POLICY

    All staff recruited will be qualified in their relevant subject areas. All staff will be expected to

    support the ethos and aims of the school and appointments will take this key requirement in

    to consideration. The school endeavours to recruit qualified teachers and makes provision in

    terms of salary and otherwise so that such teachers are attracted. When a qualified

    teacher cannot be recruited it employs experienced teachers with the aim of helping them togain qualified teachers as soon as possible.

    Prior to the confirmation of the appointment, checks are carried out to confirm their

    identity, previous employment history, qualification and professional references. They are also

    subject to a check with the Criminal Records Bureau to confirm their suitability to work with

    students. The school strives to adhere to Safer Recruitment in order to ensure Safeguarding

    Children issues are placed at the centre of recruitment. The school ensures the person

    responsible for recruitment is has undergone safer recruitment training.

    The school recognises its staff as being fundamental to its success. A strategic and professional

    approach to recruitment processes help enable the school to attract and appoint staff

    with the necessary skills and attributes to fulfil its strategic aims, and support the schools

    Scope

    This policy applies to the recruitment and selection of all staff to the School. All employees

    involved at any stage of the recruitment and selection of staff should be aware of and adhere

    to the contents of this policy. In addition, any external consultants, recruitment

    agencies or external experts who assist in the recruitment process must act in accordance with

    this policy. The Head teacher is responsible for providing such external parties with this policy

    prior to their involvement in the recruitment process.

    General Principles

    If a member of staff involved in the recruitment process is related with an applicant they mustdeclare this as soon as they are aware of the individuals application. It may be necessary for

    the member of staff to avoid any involvement in the recruitment and selection process,

    at the discretion of the Headteacher, or the Governors, the relation is to the Headteacher.

    Documentation relating to applicants will be treated with the utmost confidentiality

    Applicants will have the right to feedback and to access any documentation held on them .

    Preparation Stage

    The recruitment and selection process should not commence until a full evaluation of the

    need for the role against the areas strategic plans and budget has been completed.

    Recruitment should form an integral part of the staffing strategy for the area and

    should take account of the areas equal opportunities targets, by incorporating positive

    action initiatives into the recruitment and selection process. .

    Obtaining Candidates

    As a minimum all positions will normally be advertised within the School. This will

    help maximise equality of opportunity and provide staff with opportunities for career

    development, thus maintaining the skills and expertise of existing staff.

    Positions will be advertised using the most appropriate and cost effective medium to

    maximise the number of suitably qualified candidates. This may include local, national

    and international publications and web sites and should adhere to the Schools visual

    identity. Internal advertisements should appear for a minimum of 7 days and external

    advertisements should appear for a minimum of 14 days.

    Selection Process

    The selection process should be:

    All recruitment will be based on agreed job descriptions and person specifications.

    Recruitment and selection must be conducted as an evidence-based process and candidates

    should be assessed against agreed selection criteria, based on relevant knowledge, skills,

    competencies, experience and qualifications to perform the role as outlined in the person

    specification. All decisions must be recorded.

    Short listing must be undertaken by at Least two individuals who are involved in theinterviewing process. Interviews should normally be conducted by at Least two people, and all

    interviews for one post must be conducted by the same people. In order to promote equality

    of opportunity selection committees should, wherever possible, be of mixed race and

    gender composition.

    Interview questions must relate to the job requirements as exemplified in the person

    specification and the candidates suitability for the position. The person specification

    should be used as the basis for determining the interview questions.

    The choice of appointee will be determined by the majority view of the interviewers.

    The Employment Contract

    At the end of the recruitment process all records must be handed to the principal who will

    retain them for six months in case of requests for feedback or the threat of litigation.

    Offers of employment are conditional upon receipt of satisfactory references, medical

    assessment and any other appropriate checks. This normally excludes visiting and other

    casual appointments of less than three months duration. In accordance with employment

    legislation, appointments will only be offered on a fixed term basis where objective

    grounds exist for not making the appointment permanent.

    expected to respect the rights and privileges of other students, teachers and all otherSANABIL staff. Students shall exercise their rights responsibly in compliance with rules

    established for the orderly conduct of the SANABIL educational mission. The SANABILrules

    of conduct and discipline are established to achieve and maintain order in the school.

    Students who violate the rights of others or who violate SANABIL rules shall be subject to

    disciplinary measures. These measures are designed to establish Islamic conduct and

    exemplary citizenship both in and out of school.

    Responsibilities of the Students

    Students responsibilities for achieving a positive learning environment at school or

    school related activities shall include:

    1. Attending all classes, regularly and on time.

    2. Being prepared for each class with appropriate materials and assignments.

    3. Being appropriately dressed and groomed.

    4. Showing respect toward others.

    5. Behaving in an Islamically responsible manner.

    6. Refraining from violations of the code of student conduct.

    3.2. Responsibilities of the Parents

    Throughout this document, parents includes single parent, legal guardian, or person who

    has lawful control of the student. Parents have the responsibility to:

    1. Provide for the physical needs of the student.

    2. Teach the student to listen to teachers and other school personnel and school rules.

    3. Be sure the student attends school regularly and on time, and promptly report and explain

    absences and tardiness to the school.

    4. Encourage and lead the students to develop proper study habits at home.

    5. Participate in meaningful parent-teacher conferences to discuss the students school

    progress and welfare.

    6 .Attend parent-training workshops for home reinforcement of study skills and specificcurriculum objectives.

    7. Keep informed about school policies and the academic requirements of school programs.

    8. Pay required fees and fines, unless these are waived.

    9. Participate in school-related organizations.

    10. Be sure the student is appropriately dressed and groomed at school and school related

    activities.

    11. Discuss report cards and school assignments with the student.

    12. Bring to the attention of school authorities any learning problem or condition that may

    relate to the students education.

    13. Maintain up-to-date home, work and emergency telephone numbers and other pertinent

    information at the school.

    14. Cooperate with the school staff.

    15. Be sure the student attends school tutorials when required or as the need arises.

    16. Sign and submit the attached Acknowledgement Statement.

    Responsibilities of the Principal

    The principal has the responsibility to:

    1. Respond to discipline problems referred to them by teachers.

    2. Act as the school disciplinarian or appoint a designee.

    3. Develop and maintain a standard discipline citation form for teachers use.

    4. Ensure the fair and equitable implementation of this discipline policy by school staff.

    5. Promote effective training and discipline of all students.

    6. Encourage parent communication with the school, including participation in required

    parent-teacher conferences.

    7. Provide appropriate assistance to students in learning self-discipline.

    8. Provide instructional leadership for discipline and for evaluation of the discipline policy.

    9. Serve as appropriate role models for the students.

    10. Send a written notice to a parent within twenty-four hours after receiving a citation formfrom a teacher for a serious offense committed by the student.

    11. Follow-up with the parents on all student disciplinary actions until the matter is resolved.

    12. Provide the Board of Directors with a periodic (every trimester )report on discipline issues,

    outlining all violations and corrective actions taken during the reporting period.

    3.4 Responsibilities of the Teachers

    Teachers have a responsibility to:

    1. Provide a safe and nurturing classroom environment using effective classroom management

    techniques.

    2. Communicate and explain to their students the school discipline policy and procedures.

    3. Ensure the fair and equitable implementation of this discipline policy among their

    students.

    4. Maintain a discipline record for each of their students and submit such records to the

    school disciplinarian on a regular basis.

    5. Be punctual and have regular attendance.

    6. Be prepared to perform their teaching duties with appropriate preparation, assignments,

    and resource materials.

    7. Comply with SANABIL policies, rules, regulations, and directives as outlined in the

    Teacher Handbook and the Parent/Student Handbook.

    8. Maintain an orderly classroom atmosphere conducive to learning.

    9. Meet the standards of teaching performance established by the SANABIL.

    10. Establish rapport and an effective working relationship with parents, students and other

    staff members.

    11. Teach students to develop and practice self-discipline.

    12. Encourage good work habits that will lead to success in meeting personal goals.

    13. For serious offenses, as defined herein, file a standard discipline citation form with the

    school disciplinarian regarding the students violation of the students code of conduct.

    14. Serve as appropriate role models for students, in accordance with the standards of the

    teaching profession.

    15. Interact with parents to mutually resolve any disciplinary problems the students may have.

    One or more conferences shall be held during each school year between a teacher and the

    parents of a student if any of the following circumstances arise:

    1. The student is not maintaining passing grades or achieving the expected level of

    performance;

    3. Other cases when the teacher considers it necessary.
