ARTECO solution - Samsung Open Platform

Arteco is developing an ALPR application capable of reading license plates for control access purposes. Customers who need to enable gate opening remotely and get stats of their visitors will be able to get this data through our app running on Open SDK. Samsung will integrate the application into the software suite and allow the user to manage it in a unique supervising system using several Samsung IP cams with or without ALPR. Arteco chose the Samsung Open Platform for its power, flexibility, and reliability – a solid solution which responds to the exact needs of the partner.

- The ALPR application will allow users to access data for vehicle license plate numbers when transiting in predefined areas. This will give the user full control of who is accessing and provide complete temporal statistics of the access.

- The integration of the application with Arteco VMS will open a world of potentially new integrated applications from which the customer could benefit. These span from the recognition of matching license plates and their subsequent recording on a white list or alternatively to the creation of alerts (email, sms, sound, lights) which are triggered when an undesired vehicle is recognized on a “black” list by the system.

Foxstream’s software solutions have been developed focusing mainly on security, our clients’ primary needs being outdoor intrusion detection. Our goal is to provide optimal detection, with accurate & real-time information, by deleting the risk of false alarms. Our solution, FoxVigi, is the result of numerous years of work in this field in order to offer you the best innovative technology. But Foxstream doesn’t only develop intrusion detection solutions; FoxVigi can also integrate and provide more dedicated applications in order to address the wide range of our clients’ needs. Foxstream solution - Samsung Open Platform

As a first embedded solution, Foxstream proposed the FoxCounter solution. The algorithm is a bi-directional people counting system that gives an estimate of the number of persons going through a predefined zone. The passages for each direction are counted independently. The application can be easily integrated into a larger system. Data from each cameras on the network can be visualized from a single camera and be centralized for further analysis. The embedded version of the system offers the same performance than the accurate and reliable server based version. FoxCounter combines high performance video analytics with the power of the Samsung open platform to deliver an essential and effective tool for retail stores, shopping centres, entertainment and museums, airport and stations…Further algorithms will be embedded shortly (an embedded version of the intrusion detection functionalities will be also released in the next coming weeks).

- Reduction of the TCO Dedicated solution, such as counting or intrusion detection, can be easily uploaded within the camera without dedicated Video Content Analytic (VCA) server. The solution is easier to install and configure.

- Make a system more scalable without limitation from the server hosted the VCA. In a past VCA solution was mainly used in centralize location in order to connect all cameras to one of more VCA server(s).

- With embedded versions of the algorithms, the system can now be used within a distributed environment such as the different sales point of a brand across a region or a country. VCA can now be done locally within the camera, without VCA server on-site. Data and/or events can then be centralized when required. The use of the embedded versions reduces the bandwidth requirement. Videos are not stream continuously anymore, only data or events are.
