REF: REFERENCE LETTER FPR MR. KEALEBOGA THOBOLO
Subject: Application for Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
This reference letter is provided at the request of Mr. Kealeboga Thobolo. Mr. Thobolo has been
part of Face the Nation since April 2013. He has been with us for the six (6) months. He worked
under the BNAPS (Botswana National AIDS Project) department as a monitoring and evaluation
Officer. Face The Nation is one of the most well-known and fastest-growing HIV/AIDS
intervention programme in Botswana, with a celebrated reputation of being reliable and socially
responsible. For the quality of his work, as the Program Manager of Face the Nation I
recommend Mr. Thobolo to all his future employers.
Mr. Thobolo took part in various stages of the development of projects activities. He was
assigned to write and revise the annual work plan and to collect the data with the use of
Microsoft Excel/ SPSS. He has attended meetings with our team, (WUSC, NACA), to discuss
on project campaigns and work plan budget, and has contributed interesting and useful ideas.
Mr. Thobolo’s responsibilities included; Developing monitoring and evaluation plans to
effectively analyze and present project results in a synchronized manner (reporting), Develop
tools and processes that support quality project monitoring and evaluation, meet NACA (World
Bank) standards and comprehensively analyze project output, Work closely with the peer
educators to fully mobilize our organization’s message and ensuring maximum reach of our
clients .Mr. Thobolo is a quick learner who could work independently without close supervision
Rarely did the staff need to explain a process or procedure to him more than once. The fact that
he always enjoyed what he did made his work of high quality, as he paid attention to all the
details in every aspect of the job.
Mr. Thobolo has been a part of many events held by the company. He participated in all the
phases from inviting guest speakers, recruiting new peer educators both via telephone and
formal letter, arranging the conference room and attended trainings which were run by the
organization. In the beginning, he had shown fear of integrating his computing skills but in the
end he used his computing qualifications to boost data collection and analysis methods. He was

also eager to take part in a community service program organized by the organization, where He
was highly involved with the community leaders and their activities.
Overall, Mr. Thobolo was always passionate when learning new skills and knowledge, and
became a quick learner. He would talk with and acquire insights when given the chance. He
asked interesting and in-depth questions about the industry just to learn as much as possible. He
took thorough notes from meetings and lectures, and recorded his. He approached every task
with great enthusiasm and effort.
As you can tell by now, I am quite impressed with this outstanding young man and I am sure that
this six months has been an excellent work experience for him. He has gained great knowledge
and experience of the M&E Office and structure. I highly recommend him for roles in the
industry that requires enthusiasm, intelligence, speed and a positive attitude.
