Sample Questions for Guest Speaker

Below are a few questions for you. Have fun with it, you may choose to even ask the students questions,

make it as interactive as you can.

1. What are some of the challenges of your job?

2. The most rewarding project they worked on, and why it was rewarding

3. What project did/do you consider a classic "war story,"; why was it so difficult; and what would you do

differently now?

4. Why did you choose this particular career?

5. How does your career affect the world? Will this position be around in 5, 10, 15 years?

6. Why did you choose this job?

7. Can you describe your typical day?

8. How would you rate your job on a scale of 1-10 on the basis of fun?

9. Is your job mainly physical strain, mental strain or both?

10. Did you know you were going to be doing this job when you were our age?

11. Does your job take any special talents?

12. Can you live and work anywhere in the U.S. or can your job be done only in certain places?

13. Are there any limitations on your personal and/or social life because of the nature of your work?

14. How would you advise me to plan for my future?

15. What are some other interesting jobs that might be related to yours?

16. What job would you choose if you didn’t do what you do now?

17. What is the most satisfying thing about a job? Money? Vacations? Co-workers? Retirement? Or what?
