A Proclamation

For a Day of National Humiliation Fasting and Prayer

Whereas the Senate of the United States, devoutly recognizing the Supreme Authority and

Just Government of Almighty God, in all the affairs of men and of nations, has, by a

resolution, requested the President to designate and set apart a day for National prayer and

humiliation:

And Whereas, it is the duty of nations, as well as of men, to own their dependence

upon the overruling power of God, to confess their sins and transgressions, in humble

sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon; and

to recognise the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures and proven by all history,

that those nations only are blessed whose God is the Lord:

And, insomuch as we know that, by His divine law, nations, like individuals, are

subjected to punishments and chastisements in this world, may we not justly fear that the

awful calamity of civil war, which now desolates the land, may be but a punishment

inflicted upon us for our presumptuous sins, to the needful end of our national reformation

as a whole people? We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have

been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers,

wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We

have forgotten the gracious Hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched

and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that

all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.

Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity

of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves

us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to

pray for clemency and forgiveness.

Now, therefore, in compliance with the request, and fully concurring in the views of

the Senate, I do, by this my proclamation, designate and set apart Thursday, the 30th day of

April, 1863, as a day of national humiliation, fasting, and prayer. And I do hereby request

all the People to abstain on that day from their ordinary secular pursuits, and to unite, at

their several places of public worship and their respective homes, in keeping the day holy to

the Lord, and devoted to the humble discharge of the religious duties proper to that solemn

occasion.

All this being done, in

sincerity and truth, let us then rest

humbly in the hope authorised by

the Divine teachings, that the

united cry of the Nation will be

heard on high, and answered with

blessings, no less than the pardon of

our national sins, and restoration of

our now divided and suffering

country, to its former happy

condition of unity and peace.

Done at the city of Washington this thirtieth day of March, in the year of our Lord one

thousand eight hundred and sixty three, and of the Independence of the United States the

The above proclamation is preserved in the Library of Congress as Appendix no. 19 in

volume 12 of the United States At Large. It was initiated by a resolution of the United

States Senate, and was officially declared by President Lincoln on March 30, 1863.

Its message contains two related themes which challenge our careful consideration.

First, the proclamation acknowledges the unique blessings enjoyed by the

United States, but suggests that these blessings have brought about an attitude of

pride and self-sufficiency which are the root causes of a grave national crisis. Some of

the phrases could apply with equal force to the condition of the nation today: “We have

grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown.... We have

vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were

produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.... We have become too self-

sufficient... too proud to pray to the God that made us!” Second, the proclamation

unequivocally acknowledges “the overruling power of God” in the affairs of men and

nations. It indicates that behind the political, economic, and military forces of

history, there are divine spiritual laws at work; and that by acknowledging and

submitting to these laws a nation may change its destiny, averting threatened

disaster and regaining true peace and prosperity. In particular, the proclamation

sets forth one specific, practical way in which a nation may invoke on its own behalf “the

overruling power of God”—that is, by united prayer and fasting.

The author of this proclamation, Abraham Lincoln, is generally regarded, both by

Americans and by the world at large, as one of the shrewdest and most enlightened of

American presidents. He was a man of sincere faith and deep convictions, but he never

sought membership in any of the Christian denominations of his day. In no sense could

he be considered as unbalanced or extreme in his religious views. Further, this

proclamation was not merely the product of Lincoln’s private convictions. It

was requested by a resolution of the entire United States Senate.

How shall we assess the deep and unanimous convictions of men of this

calibre? Shall we dismiss them as irrelevant or out-of-date? To do this would be merely

the mark of unreasoning prejudice.

Rather, we owe it to ourselves to give honest and careful consideration to this

proclamation and the issues which it raises....

Commentary by Derek Prince, a world renowned minister of the Gospel

and Intercessor in his book “Shaping History Through Prayer and Fasting”

“...The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the thoughts of His heart through all

generations. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) is the nation whose God is the

LORD, the people He has chosen as His heritage...” - Psalm 33: 11&12 AMP

“...When our sons shall be as plants grown large in their youth and our daughters as

sculptured corner pillars hewn like those of a palace; when our garners are full,

affording all manner of store, and our sheep bring forth thousands and ten thousands

in our pastures; when our oxen are well loaded; when there is no invasion [of hostile

armies] and no going forth [against besiegers—when there is no murder or

manslaughter] and no outcry in our streets; Happy and blessed are the people who

are in such a case; yes, happy (blessed, fortunate, prosperous, to be envied) are the

people whose God is the Lord!” - Psalm 144:12 – 15

Dearest folks... I haven’t researched this for myself, but I don’t need to because I have

the Word of God on it... however, I give you charge to do this with the full guarantee

that with a few years lag or quite possibly not at all, the so-called clinical depression,

sickness and disease, poverty, murder and suicide rates, amongst other evils, in

most of the traditionally Christian countries to include the United States of

America, United Kingdom and most of Europe increased in direct correlation to

the decline in the perceived relevance of God’s Word... the Bible... to life... the

same goes for International Terrorism...You may have your conspiracy theories on why

USA has such a pervasive influence today, but I will let you know the primary reason...

which is that when the economic immigrants from Europe settled in North America, they

started off this nation with a covenant with Almighty God, giving their oath to be His

people, even as He is their God... their whole educational system grew out of the Word

of God, the Holy Bible... even the medical system, which explains that medical insignia

of intertwined snakes around a pole, drawn from the Bible [Numbers 21:8], when the

children of Israel were undergoing God’s judgement and being bitten by poisonous

snakes, and His mercy prevailed at the same time, and He asked Moses to make this

image, such that if anyone looked at it, they would be healed... which was a foreshadow

of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross... it is no wonder why the United States of America

has been so blessed with Economic power and influence over the whole world, much like

Great Britain was... and also the primary reason they have been so hated, even though

there is an established policy of giving financial aid, even to nations that hate them and

want to see their end...

The USA has been the cradle of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ for

generations... during which period, most of the rest of the world was steeped in the

darkness of lifeless religion and idolatry... having a form of godliness, but denying the

power thereof [2 Timothy 3:5]... even today... the greatest concentration of Word of

Faith based ministries impacting the world is concentrated in the USA, with countries like

South Korea, Singapore and Nigeria beginning to toe the line... though multitudes of

Christians in the USA with direct access to these men and women of God cling

irrationally to unbelief and lifeless religion, even then, the ministries in these other

countries would mostly trace spiritual fatherhoods and impartations to these great men

and women of God from the United States of America... those great generals... that held

the rope while the rest of the world were teetering on the brink of destruction... the A.A.

Allens... the William J. Seymours’... the Aimee Semple-Mcphersons... the John G.

Lakes... the William Branhams... the Jack Coes... the John Alexander Dowies... Maria

Woodworth-Etter... Katherine Khulman... Smith Wigglesworth, and Evans Roberts

(shining lights from Great Britain)... Oral Roberts... Kenneth E. Hagin... men and women

of whom the world was unworthy... in a time when the miraculous power of God was

virtually relegated to the stuff of myths, these great generals of the faith were

manifesting the glorious wonder of the miraculous power of God... greater works than

our Lord Jesus, as He promised... they were seeing creative miracles... arms and legs

were growing out in the presence of audiences of thousands!! ...I have videos of this...

people were being raised from the dead... salvations... manifold healings of diverse

kinds... special miracles... the miraculous at an unprecedented level... a time (early

1900s) when medical science being chronically deficient, they had not much to rely on

but the miraculous power of God! The city of Los-Angeles where Aimee Semple-

Mcpherson ministered at Angelus Temple saw loads of ambulances from the hospitals

congregating there on every day of worship and they leaving empty!! ...to the point that

a unanimous decision was taken by the City council, to reserve the ambulances for those

that really needed them, and that people wanting to go to Angelus Temple for healing

should be carried there by some other means!! ...24-hour prayer, praise and worship in

shifts in their tower... men of God like John G. Lake who ministered in South Africa when

the bubonic plague suddenly broke out... he would carry the lifeless corpses and dying

people with his bare hands without any infection to himself leaving the scientific

community astounded! ...they coming to him to ask why he was not being infected and

he saying, it is the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2)... the

Anointing... what he called the Lightening of Jesus... he being a Scientist in his own

right, allowed experiments to be done on him, they affixing microscopes and all the

medical paraphernalia, and they would put a specimen of the deadly froth coming from

the victims mouths containing the bubonic virus in his hands, and right under the lens

of those microscopes, they would see every single virus die!!

Coming back to the United States, he ministered in his healing rooms in Spokane,

Washington, which as a direct result, became billed as the healthiest city in the world!

...men like Jack Coe who pulled people from their wheelchairs and commanded them to

walk and they mostly did! ...the few who didn’t being rebuked sharply for their

unbelief... with Anointing oil representing the Holy Spirit, laid his hands on the cancerous

growth on a woman's face and pulled it (the cancerous growth) right off!! ...leaving her

facial skin as smooth as a new born baby’s... and in the very presence of a large

audience... (I have seen it myself in a video I have which was recorded from that

service)... William Branham... who ministered with a visible manifestation of a halo

around his head!! I mean visible!! That you can see with your physical eyes!! Much like

the children of Israel saw the Pillar of Fire of the Presence of God physically!! ...this halo

was actually captured in camera pictures taken from that time, and the halo can be

clearly seen!! Image editing technology was not available back then in the early 1900s,

so you can’t say this halo was edited in to deceive anybody... plus, we have the witness

of thousands of people in his services from that time who saw it! ...with their physical

eyes!! [Believe God’s Word as written in the Bible, please do not seek to see

manifestations like these with your physical eyes, or you would be vulnerable to

deception and end up starting your own religion as another mohammed saying some

devil, appearing as an angel of light appeared to you and gave you some nonsense you

now want to force down all our throats! ...Jesus said to Thomas who declared that unless

he saw with his physical eyes he would not believe, “...be not faithless, but

believing... Blessed are those who have not seen, but yet have believed” John

20:24 - 29]. You can read all about these great generals of the faith in the works

researched and produced by Roberts Liardon in a book and Videos titled “God’s

Generals”...

Special miracles!! ...obese people loosing hundreds of pounds right before the

congregation after hands were laid on them, and their clothes falling off them once they

got up!! ...Brother Kenneth Hagin... putting his hands on a stage with the Spirit of

Might (Isaiah 11) upon him and breaking a whole stage into two!! ...the same Spirit that

was on Samson which gave him super-human

ability to destroy 1,000 men equipped with

swords, shields and spears, with nothing but

the jaw-bone of an ass!! ...carry a whole city

gate to the top of a hill!! ...and tear a full-grown lion much bigger than himself into

pieces from its mouth with his bare hands!! ...and my great daddy’s spiritual dad Oral

Roberts, who saw multitudes of medically documented healings in his tent meetings!

...thousands upon thousands of healings, salvations, multitudes of signs and wonders!!

20 million souls... won to the Lord... fruit... which remains to this day... such an

astounding irreversible impact on the Body of Christ’s power for witness that can never

be erased... he gave the Body of Christ the revelations of the Anointing transfer through

partnership, the miracle of seed-faith, the central role the Holy Spirit and speaking in

other tongues has in the ministry of our Lord Jesus here on earth, building the first all-

Christian academic university with full-subject courses on earth from nothing... no

money... no plans... nothing! ...but the Presence of Christ Jesus, and the gift of speaking

in other tongues, which things I believe we will delve into in some further email... he

went on to be with the Lord on December 15th, 2009 to join brother Hagin (who left in

2003) and all the saints from the beginning of time, and is currently enjoying all the

divine riches of our Master’s Person in all His fullness unfettered by any earthly cares...

Up to our present day generals still here with us... Kenneth & Gloria Copeland, Benny

Hinn, Bishop David Oyedepo, Morris Cerullo, Jerry Savelle... who early on in his ministry

of helps to brother Copeland, his baby daughter Terri-Anne was in an accident in the

children’s room, part of her little finger had been cut off! ...this baby crying and

shrieking in pain and brother Jerry feeling virtually helpless, brother Copeland prayed for

immediate relief and the child went off to sleep... taking the child to the most prominent

plastic surgeon in the country who I believe was a Sikh, and considering the prospects of

affixing that lifeless finger tip back on, this guy said it was impossible, and Terri-Anne

would live with this stump for a finger forever... severely attacked by thoughts of fear

and doubt, Jerry Savelle prayed and praised God anyway, and when the bandage was

removed this finger had grown back!! ...complete with a beautiful new fingernail, with

just a little scar as a memento! ...this Sikh doctor exclaimed “...my god!!”... and brother

Jerry said no no no... not your god... my God!! ...when will we let go of all this unbelief

in our God’s abilities...

The faith of our Lord Jesus Christ sunk so low in the United Kingdom and many other

traditionally Christian countries in Europe to the point that the people officially charged

with upholding this, began talking about amalgamating several religions under one

umbrella in the so-called political correctness of non-exclusion... in the deceived words

that we all serve the same God... we don’t all serve the same God!!! ...I love

and long and am praying for all Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and their

whole fervent hearts with the humility enough to realise that they did not

originate from nothingness... from a cosmic chemical soup at the beginning of

time... like the apostle Paul, I long for the natural seed of Abraham... the

Jews... I long for them to bring that zealous devotion for what they cannot even

see or feel into our Blessedness, and help us Christians in this generation

understand what true devotion really means... even so-called atheists have my

love... human beings... walking this beautiful planet the devil has

unsuccessfully tried so much to destroy... seeing the clouds... the seas...

grasses... flowers... the sun... moon... stars... new human beings... being

brought into this world... beautiful babies... each with their different

personalities, no one alike... miracles all around us, and we still say we are not

sure... and we want a sign... how many more signs would we get before we

decide to believe... signs and wonders do not produce faith friend... only the

Word of God does which you have full access to...

No religion on the face of this planet can possibly claim to give any form of life or visible

witness to any human being... the Dalai Lama seems to be a good guy in the political

correctness of the word, not necessarily God-ward, but has no power to protect his

fellow Tibetans or anybody else for that matter... Buddha was a little overweight before

he died and was probably killed by obesity-related sicknesses and diseases so he can’t

teach any of us the way to life and success because his god was his belly... neither

confucius nor guru marahaji were quite sure about the way before they died, and we

don’t build our lives on theories but facts so no show there... mohammed and allah are

certainly not the way... their koran took a lot out of the Old Testament books of the

Bible, added to it only mentioning Jesus as a prophet in there to give it some level of

credibility... and evading to mention His very clear and impossible to misunderstand

assertion that I AM THE SON OF GOD... plus, their domineering bloodthirsty demands to

be respected and worshipped strikes me as a bit insecure... but Jesus... glory to God...

Jesus Christ... was very explicit when He said, I AM THE WAY... I AM THE TRUTH... and I

AM THE LIFE... not a way... not a truth... not a life... but THE WAY... THE TRUTH... THE

LIFE! ...and I have tangible evidence of this in my life, and in the witness of countless

billions from the beginning to this very day... Christ Jesus is very much alive, and

we are enjoying fellowship with Him today, through His Spirit... perhaps even

on a deeper level than the apostles had with Him in his 3-year ministry on

earth... yes... it is the same Christ Jesus you read about in the gospels ... Glory

to God... bless His holy Name... ...and you can receive Him today... at no cost to

yourself because He has paid it all... you don’t need to climb a mountain for

enlightenment... do enough good works in your strength hoping for a better existence

when you supposedly come back as a fish or a frog... or travel to any geographical

location on the face of the planet, you can receive Him right where you are... and He will

come into your heart, and fellowship with you... build your life up to His standard height

of perfection as you walk in His obedience... oh... you need to meet our Master.... please

open your heart and see Him... His Glory... His Beauty... His Majesty... His Perfection...

surrounded by Glorious Light... the Joy of our existence, and the very Centre of the

universe... He is not a religion... He is the very living relationship we were

created to enjoy before the fall of man through Adam, and all His thoughts

since then have dwelt on nothing else but the restoration of His family... us... I

wish I could write in tongues to express all the blessed things He is communicating to

my heart right now, because neither English nor any other language on the face of this

planet is sufficient enough... His Beauty... His Perfection... His Majesty... Manhood and

Deity wrapped up into One... clothed in thick folds and waves and billows of light that no

darkness can approach unto... His Love... He is Love... His Person is Love... His very

Nature and Personality is Love... He is Real... He is Light... He is Life... He gives the

breathe of life to the most wicked of terrorists... He didn’t create them to be terrorists...

He loves every human being... He saw them... and loved them from when they were

babies... from the very foundations of the earth... He weeps... oh He weeps... over what

human beings have been transformed into... He created them beautiful... He created

them to bear His glory... to exhibit the light of His Majesty... angels do not have this

honour... yet man relegated this authority to a fallen serpentine maggot crawling rat...

who destroyed this glory together with the little he had been given as the covering

anointed cherub... arch-angel Lucifer... the light-bringer... blocked from My Light...

blocked from My Love... blocked from My Life... everything returns to darkness...

everything beautiful degrades into oblivion... for I am... the Sun... of

Righteousness... I will... repair... I will... restore... I will... renew... I will

perfect... I will... because I am... glory to God... thank You Lord Jesus...

Lots of wealthy celebrities are humble enough to realise their deficiencies so they shell

out billions of dollars for personal advisers and life coaches, but how much can you

pay to have God! ...as your personal adviser and life coach? ...you can’t afford

Him even if He charged you ... all He has asked for which you can most certainly

afford, and which is to make His advise most effectual for your benefit is your whole

heart... everything! ...and with joy and thanksgiving that He still wants the mess we

have created to turn around... for our benefit...

Though steeped in darkness of

religion and idolatry, God still

had faithful servants in many

other nations... like my great-

grand father-in-law, Edward

Kvjatkouskij who worked in

America as a young man for

some years, around the same

period as the Azusa street

revival, where we believe he got

saved and baptised in the Holy

Spirit... he prophesied the

collapse of soviet communist rule

in his words to my father-in-law,

“...king Mikhail will come and the

communist rule will come to an

end...” ...long before Mikhail

Gorbachev came to power, which

was about 4 regimes after

Stalin... refusing to worship Josef

Stalin, and recant the Lordship of

Jesus Christ, he suffered for this

10 years in a Siberian

concentration camp under this

wicked regime where human life

counted for nothing...

...and my yet to be known forefathers whom a prophet once told me served God... and

are very much the reason for my faith today... my immediate natural father was not

what we would call a strong believer... a brilliant surgeon but a self-proclaimed atheist

who for many years would often try to evangelise me to his point of view every time he

had the chance... I stood in faith for his salvation all that time... I was in shock for many

days when he died in 2009 and I cried hot tears because I never realised how much I

loved him... reminiscing about what could have been if he had given his whole life to the

Lord... time lost to all eternity never to be regained... and the uncertainty over his

eternal destination... but I was to learn later on that one of his last known words a few

days before he died was in a text to his colleague, wishing him God’s blessing on his

promotion... he had previously maintained that there was no God or devil... so I believe

God the words of our conversations resounded to him in his last days on earth and he

said, “...yes Jesus... please come into my heart... I am sorry for all my sins, and I

forgive every, and anyone who has wronged me for anything they have said or done...”

before he passed on... if not... I did what I could... it boils down to every individual’s will

before their Maker, which the Lord Himself would not violate... in fact... if you doggedly

decide you want to go to hell, God will repeatedly try and persuade you otherwise, but

He will respect your wishes... and allow you go where no human was created to be...

even though His heart will weep for this tragic loss of your spirit to all eternity... Faith is

hereditary folks... you are doing your children a most immense good by your choices

for God today...
