You Can Have What You Say...

(Sent 29/3/2010)

Dearest folks, please consider these words of our Lord Jesus very carefully as this outlines a principle for the very foundation of our faith.

“...And Jesus answering said unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto

you, That Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the Sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that

those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have

whatsoever he says. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever you

desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them...” – Mark 11 vs22 - 24

We must realise that Jesus was not just speaking figuratively when He said these words because He was on an actual mountain with His disciples (The Mount of Olives I believe). Jesus was literally saying you can put the powers of creation to your bidding when you know how to control the words that come out of your mouth! We all agree that negative speaking has a damaging effect on our lives and those around us, and have long been taught that we should be cautious of what we say as death and life are in the power of the tongue; but we seem to have leant only on the negative side of things in

our mindsets not realising that hey presto, if this principle works in the negative, it also works in the positive which is what our Lord is specifically referring to here. You will recall our father Abraham’s testimony of

faith (Romans 4:17) and how God calls things that be not as though they are... if as we have established in earlier emails He has given us the very life He has then you will know by consequence that we have the very capacity to speak things founded on His Word and principles into being just like He did in the beginning, and you realise the Lord will not ask us to do something He has not given us the capacity to do. This also highlights the very exhortation by saints who have discovered His heart to control our tongues

(David, Solomon, James etc); even more, apply this for ours and our household of faith’s benefit.

Though this truth is applicable to every part of our lives be it health, good relationships, favour, financial wealth etc, the particular application I believe I am to address is financial wealth, as some seem to be offended at the very prospect of financial abundance in the life of a believer even though God’s Word clearly says so, holding to the traditions they have been taught which while commendable in loyalty is downright silly.

We have all been taught of the Lord’s tithe which is 10% of our income into the Storehouse where we are fed the Word of God, and that this is not Old Testament and therefore inapplicable to us now as some saints would believe but is a principle that

was established hundreds of years before the Law was given to the covenant people of God’s time (Our faith fathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob tithed, and we are exhorted to be followers of them); so I will not comment further on this, only that some believe they can tithe other things like their time not their income and expect to prosper financially wilfully forgetting the very instructions given by the Lord in Malachi and Proverbs, that this is of a financial nature. Yes we are obligated to give God our hearts, and by consequence all our time and in such instance everything we do will be glorifying to Him.

I would like to share some insight as to the deep covenant significance of the tithe, why 10% and not 12% or 15% etc. If you go through the scriptures, you will understand

that the Spirit of God is very scrupulously numerical in His expressions, which is a case for honest Scientists proving God’s existence and not trying to disprove as some foolishly engage in. I believe part if not all of the earth’s workings were founded on mathematical equations we are yet to fully understand, which the Holy Spirit can teach you. This I believe will unlock loads of solutions to many human problems today. Numbers have a particular significance and several numbers have been Biblically elucidated as meaning certain things like 3 (The Number of Resurrection), 5 (The Number of Grace), 7 (The Number of Completeness) etc. I will not delve into this but you can do a study into every instance these numbers occur and their contexts. You will notice however that every occurrence of the number 10 has a very strong significance to the process of the establishment of a covenant, even though we know the number 12 to be the number of covenant. I have not heard this said anywhere, but I believe 10 to be the number for Breakthrough after a hard time, and I will explain why. Several verses speak about this including the tops of the mountains being seen after the earth was flooded, notable times when the Lord revealed Himself to His prophets, the breakthrough Revival at Decapolis (10 Cities) after the demon-possessed guy of the Gadarenes was delivered amongst many others you can study (Genesis 8 vs5; 28 vs22; Exodus 12 vs3; 16 vs36; 29 vs40; Leviticus 5 vs11; 6 vs20; 14 vs10; 14 vs21; 16 vs29; 23 vs13; 23 vs17; 23 vs27; 24 vs5; 25 vs9; 27 vs32; Numbers 5 vs15; 7 vs66; 15 vs4, 6 & 9; 18 vs21 & 26; 28 vs5, 9, 12, 13, 20, 21, 28 & 29; 29 vs3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 14 & 15; Deuteronomy 23 vs2 & 3; Joshua 4 vs19; 1

Samuel 8 vs15 & 17; 2 Kings 25 vs1; 1 Chronicles 12 vs13; 24 vs11; 25 vs17; 27 vs13; Ezra 10 vs16; Esther 2 vs16; Isaiah 6 vs13; Jeremiah 32 vs1; 39 vs1; 52 vs4 & 12; Ezekiel 20 vs1; 24 vs1; 29 vs1; 33 vs21; 40 vs1; 45 vs11 & 14; Zechariah 8 vs19; John 1 vs39; Hebrews 7 vs2 & 4; Revelations 11 vs13, and 21 vs. 20). I am not trying to establish any doctrine but consider these for yourself so your faith is not founded on the words of a man but the Word of God.

This, my dear friends is a very sobering reflection, a glaring reflection of the grim reality of truth about the Lord’s attitude to the Tithe. It is not just merely an optional requirement but earmarks the very bedrock of our covenant with Him, and how our attitude to prosperity and right stewardship over our finances should be... the word `ten` is translated from DEKA in the original Greek which is regarded as the measure of human responsibility as outlined in the parable of the talents.

What the Lord is saying is that He is counting on you, just as much as you are counting on Him for His Kingdom to rule, and His will to be done on earth as Apostle Paul explicitly states to us He has committed to us the Word of Reconciliation. This does not merely state a responsibility on our part to communicate the gospel by speaking but also by financing and living individually on the level of blessing He has for us which would astound the unbelieving world, and save some more because they need His help. If you are to be His disciple, it isn’t optional but actually a commandment from the Lord, which is why those who are faithful with this are promised promotion to rulership over ten cities, and to believe and do otherwise would be tantamount to the disobedience that restricts the blessing and make men labour under the curse toiling for a living without ever being satisfied.

Finally to my main point which is that understanding how significant this 10% of our income is, we do not merely pay this and drop it in the offering bucket or by direct debit as if we were paying the mafia protection money... We worship God with it, spend time in His presence thanking Him in the spirit of His instructions to His covenant people in Deuteronomy 26 vs12, making a confession of our faith He so kindly outlined for us to do, which We will elucidate in another issue. Religion diluted and polluted our Lord’s purpose concerning the Tithe, as a result there are sadly many even reformed charismatic brothers and sisters who don’t believe in this very crucial cornerstone of covenant, as such are being robbed blind by the enemy. There are yet many in the traditional institutions observing this as a religious duty without the life and faith connected to it, and as such they are being

defrauded as well. It is by knowing your covenant

positioning as a descendant of Abraham, and all that is due you as a result of this, and aligning yourself with this in obedience and SAYING when you give your Tithe as specifically instructed in Deuteronomy 26:12; declaring the blessings in Malachi 3 vs10 over your life, and actively expecting these things to manifest physically in your life to the letter that you get to enjoy this. If you feel me, incorporate this truth into your faith walk and begin to enjoy it’s benefits, and if you don’t believe still, well neither I nor the Lord can help you... friends... red Words win... believe Jesus ... you’ve got to know He loves you... you can have what you say...

“...And Jesus answering said unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto

“...You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavour? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as

worthless. You are the light of the world-like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father...” – Jesus Christ (Matthew 5:13 – 16) New Living Translation
