Term 4 is the short- est school term and after tomorrow there is seven weeks of school left for the year. As a result, planning for class structures for 2019 is underway. As a part of the process of allocating students to classes I always invite you (the parents) to write to me if you would like us to take into account any considerations when it comes to your childs class placement in 2019. You may ask for your child to be placed in a 1/2 class for example rather than an R/1 class. You may ask whether we can accommodate that your child be placed in a differ- ent class from their cousin or best friend because they are more productive when away from that student. You may have other family/personal information that needs to be considered before placing your child. My only stipulation is that you cannot request specific teachers as I am confident that your child will be happy and progress well with their learning regardless of which class they end up in. This years recent NAPLAN re- sults are testament again to the fact that we are a high performing school in many areas. It is also important to keep in mind that staff and leadership work closely together to balance the needs of each of the classes based on academic, personal, and friendship needs and we ensure that all students have a voice in the process by ensuring they are placed with at least one of three friends they nominate. Please address any written requests to myself in an envelope marked confidential and hand it to the front office no later than Friday the 9th of November. Classes and class teacher notifications will be sent home with the end of year reports. On another note please tune in to the dates on the left hand side of this newsletter and especially Sports Day on Friday the 23rd of November. As usual there will be air gym, kannon ball throw, gymnastics, trampolining, high jump etc. and the competitive run- ning races after lunch. There will be a whole school barbecue, tea and coffee van, cake stall and soft drinks. The winning team will be presented with the championship shield at the end of the day and all classes will participate for the Spirit Cup which is awarded to the team displaying the best sportsmanship on the day. The official sports day pro- gram is included in this newsletter as an insert so pop it on the fridge and tell your boss that you need the day off. A big thanks to Mr. Mac who always works tirelessly behind the scenes to organise a brilliant sports day. The students will find out very soon which Sports Day team they are in so all I can say is Go Blue. Thanks everyone and take care.
