Ernie Haase & Signature Sound Influenced: A Vintage Quartet Session

EHSS has been greatly affected by the rich heritage of gospel music from the formidable artists that popularized this genre so many years ago. In ‘Influenced: A Vintage Quartet Session’ they pay tribute to such singers and songwriters as Hovie Lister and the Statesmen Quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, The Jordanaires, The Blind Boys from Alabama, The Harmonizing Four, The Golden Gate Quartet and the many more who came after them and blazed a trail that Signature Sound still follows today.

To capture the pure essence and simplicity of the original recordings, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound used players who are very intimate with the art form, and they recorded with vintage amps, guitars and an upright bass. They even sang and recorded the vocals the old-fashioned way — on two microphones — with no multi-tracking!
