We're happy to bring you the second volume of the Signature Sound Influenced series, ‘Spirituals & Southern Classics’. Like the first volume, ‘Influenced: A Vintage Quartet Session’, Signature Sound pays tribute to the artists, songwriters and sounds of the early twentieth century. They have expanded their repertoire, however, by including American spirituals and new songs arranged in the style of that time period. As expected, you’ll hear the influence of the early gospel quartets from the first song. But you’ll also witness the influences of the Boswell Sisters, the Mills Brothers and the great Mahalia Jackson. Care was taken to keep the nostalgia for traditional sounds while adding the Signature Sound flair. Universal themes of hope, kindness, love and Christian duty are woven throughout this recording. The end result is a collection of songs that we hope will put a smile on your face, keep your toes tapping, and stir your soul to the point that you can’t help but stand and shout, “Yes, I’ll be a witness for my Lord.” Enjoy!
