History

The Saiyans are an alien race from a planet in the Milky Way Galaxy. For most of their history, they lived in small communities and existed as nomads, traveling across the continents of their home planet. The largest known community of Saiyans during this time is thought to be only around 100 individuals, mostly part of an extended family. Sharing the planet with the Saiyans was a highly advanced and peaceful race, named the Tsufuru-jin. This race possessed advanced weapons and space travel and while they knew about the Saiyans, they believed their technology would keep them safe.

The two races coexisted on the planet for a long time, until the Saiyans began to unite into larger groups. At first only two or three tribes united for better protection from other hostile tribes, but as more and more tribes came together, the Saiyans became an increasing threat to the safety of the Tsufuru-jin. But still nothing was done about them as the Tsufuru-jin believed the Saiyans natural violence and hostility would limit the size of their communities. Then a leader emerged among the Saiyans, a powerful warrior named Vegita, who united nearly all of the Saiyan tribes into a single army within a few short years and began to wage war against the Tsufuru-jin. In the first few battles, the Saiyans quickly decimated the other race’s defenses, but the Saiyans' technology was primitive and the Tsufuru-jin found ways to match many of the Saiyans' natural abilities. Then a full moon occurred, which for this planet was a very rare

occurrence because of the alignment of the planet, the moon, and the local star. All of the Saiyans suddenly transformed into the powerful Oozaru and destroyed every last remnant of the Tsufuru-jin in a single night of slaughter and destruction.

The Saiyan warrior Vegita became the ruler of the Saiyans and the planet was renamed Vegita in his honor. The Saiyans began to adapt the remaining technology that the Tsufuru-jin left behind to their own purposes and they began to explore outside of their planet and into their star system. Time passed uneventfully for the Saiyans as they went out and explored nearby star systems and created small colonies. The Saiyans developed a warrior class-based system, each class represented a different level of strength and skill in battle; lower-class Saiyans were not as skilled or as powerful as the upper-class Saiyans. The lower-class families were considered to be weaker and no special effort was made to train them beyond the basic level of training that all Saiyans received. Although it was possible to advance from a lower-class to an upper-class position, this route was hard to take and often blocked by skeptical upper-class Saiyans. In addition, since the formation of the warrior class-based system, no upper-class family was ever moved to the lower classes even though a few so-called "upper class" warriors were known by the lower-classes to be inept or weak.

This was when the powerful being known as Frieza discovered the Saiyans and enlisted them into his ranks of soldiers. Frieza used the Saiyans as galactic pirates to cleanse planets of any intelligent life and prepare them for sale on the galactic market to any race that wished to colonize it. The Saiyans became feared throughout the Milky Way Galaxy as Planet Pirates. Even a few Saiyans were capable of destroying an entire planet’s population with very little effort. The Saiyans were happy to serve Frieza; he gave them the chance to fight and gave them greater opportunities to become stronger and to test their abilities against other races.

Then Frieza learned the story of the Super Saiyan. A 1000 years earlier on a far away planet, a powerful Saiyan warrior transformed into a Super Saiyan and transformed again during a full moon into an Oozaru and went completely out of control and destroyed the planet that it was on, killing itself, several other Saiyans, and the entire planet’s population. The sheer power of the creature frightened Frieza, and the possibility that another Super Saiyan could emerge from the race made Frieza determined that the Saiyans must be kept under control at all costs. To begin this process, Frieza forced the current ruler of the Saiyans, King Vegita, to turn over his only son, Prince Vegita. King Vegita resented the power that Frieza had over his people and became determined to overthrow Frieza. King Vegita personally led the assault on Frieza’s spaceship the night that Prince Vegita was taken from his home.

It is also important to mention that all the rulers of the planet Vegita were named Vegita to honor the original leader of their species. Only the original heir to the throne is named Vegita, but if the original heir dies and a new heir is chosen, that Saiyan’s name is changed to Vegita. There has never been a female ruler of the planet Vegita.

During the Saiyans' short uprising, all of Frieza’s troops on the planet Vegita were destroyed and King Vegita and a group of his most powerful warriors battled their way onto Frieza’s orbiting spaceship. Only King Vegita made it to Frieza’s throne room, determined to destroy the monster that had virtually enslaved his race, but the more powerful Frieza quickly killed him. Frieza then left his ship to face the army of Saiyan Warriors assembled in orbit of the planet. A lower-class Saiyan Warrior of unprecedented skill, named Bardock, led these forces. But even Bardock’s most powerful attack could not harm Frieza. Frieza used the failed uprising as an excuse to destroy the planet Vegita and to eliminate the entire race of Saiyans.

All of the Saiyans were believed killed except for Prince Vegita, Nappa, Raditz, and Kakarott. Prince Vegita was onboard Frieza’s ship and did not know what had happened to his planet. Nappa, the commander of the now destroyed Saiyan army, along with a lower-class warrior, and the first son of Bardock, known as Raditz, had been cleansing a planet for sale. Kakarott, the second son of Bardock, had been sent to Earth as a baby in order to cleanse it, but had been injured and had lost his memories and programming. He became known as Goku and became the champion of Earth and eventually became one of the most powerful beings in the universe. However, other Saiyans did survive the destruction of the planet of Vegita: there were some sent as babies to cleanse planets, as Kakarott was, but their records had been lost and there were a few hidden colonies that managed to survive without support from their home world.

Eventually the Saiyans did have their revenge against Frieza, although it cost them much. When Vegita and Nappa realized that Kakarott (they refused to call him Goku) was still alive but had not cleansed the planet Earth of the human race, they sent his older brother Raditz to see what had happened. After arriving on Earth, Raditz discovered the Kakarott had become a force for good and had had a half-Saiyan son named Gohan. Kakarott refused to join Raditz in his evil schemes and was forced to kill him with the help of his son Gohan and his enemy Piccalo. After Raditz was killed, Nappa and Vegita came to Earth in order to force Kakarott to join them, but the defenders of Earth fought back alongside Goku. Nappa was killed and Vegita was forced to leave the planet, badly injured.

It was on the planet Namek where Kakarott next met Vegita and first met Frieza. Vegita, Frieza, and Gohan had all traveled separately to Namek in order to use the Dragon Balls located there. Gohan, along with the martial artist Krillin and their friend Bulma, wanted to use the balls to resurrect their friends that Nappa had killed on Earth, but Frieza and Vegita each wanted to use the balls to become immortal so they could rule the universe forever. Eventually, Vegita joined forces with Gohan to fight Frieza, his henchmen, and the powerful mercenary group known as the Ginyu Force. When Kakarott arrived on Namek he saved the life of his son, Krillin, and Vegita and destroyed the remaining members of the Ginyu Force, but was badly injured in the process. While Kakarott was healing and Vegita was resting, Gohan and Krillin used the Dragon Balls to resurrect Piccalo and bring him to Namek in order to fight Frieza.

The battle against Frieza was long and he proved to be too powerful for Piccalo, Gohan, Krillin, and Vegita combined, but Kakarott had been given neough time to fully heal. During the battle against Frieza, Kakarott achieved what so few Saiyans had ever managed to do: he became a Super Saiyan. This terrified Frieza who believed the strength of a Super Saiyan was close to his own. Frieza still believed he could win the battle and continued to fight Kakarott, but when defeat appeared inevitable, Frieza destroyed the planet Namek in hopes of surviving in space while Kakarott would suffocate. But Kakarott killed Frieza before the planet was destroyed, and while he was nearly trapped on Namek when it was destroyed, he survived and returned to Earth. The galaxy had been freed from Frieza, and Vegita went throughout all of the bases that he knew Frieza controlled and destroyed all of his remaining loyal troops.

Appearance and Biology

Saiyans appear to be almost completely human. They have dark hair, such as black, brown, and dark shades of red. Their hair grows naturally very long, but it can be cut often to place it in any style that human hair can manage. Their eyes are either brown or black, but otherwise look like a normal Human's eyes. Their main difference from humans is their monkey-like tail. The tail is prehensile and can be used to pick up objects, attack enemies, push buttons, and similar things. The tail is the same color as the Saiyan’s hair.

Saiyans vary in size from as small as 4’ to as large as 8’ (1.2 to 2.4 m) and they have an incredible appetite and can eat a huge amount of food in a single sitting. A single Saiyan could eat several Thanksgiving dinners one after another and not be full when they were done. Saiyans have to eat ten times the amount of food Humans need, but they only have to eat a fifth as often. Where the average human could go a day without eating, a Saiyan could go five days, but would have to eat more in order to sustain their higher metabolism. Another feature in full blooded Saiyans is that there hair does not grow once they reach adulthood. If for any reason their hair is lost or removed, it will never grow back. This applies to all of their body hair, not just the hair on their heads.

Saiyan children develop rapidly, both physically and mentally. But after reaching age 4, they develop rapidly and quickly surpass even an full Human adult. Although they increase in height and develop sexually at the same rate as a human, they develop faster in everything else. This is what led to the habit of sending Saiyan babies to weakly defended planets. The babies would develop and grow for a few years on the planet and when they reached the age of 4 or 5 they would begin to systematically exterminate the planet’s intelligent population. Saiyan babies were programmed to be very aggressive and the space pod they were sent in would continue to teach them how to fight and would help them progress to their goal of exterminating the planet’s population. After the mission was completed, the child would return to the planet Vegita in the space pod they were originally sent in.

Racial Statistics

Racial Type : Humanoid - Saiyan Alignment : Any, but most lean towards evil, there are very few honorable Saiyans and an even smaller

number that are actually good. Goku and Gohan are rare examples of Saiyans and they are good mainly because of where they were raised.

of their psychic potential is channeled into their martial art powers and energy manipulation, but a few have channeled their psychic potential into mastering their psychic powers.

Natural Abilities :

1. Aging :

Since Saiyans are sometimes sent out as children, it is important to show how these children progress and become more powerful. Saiyan babies are the same as human babies in most respects, but once they reach the age of 4, they begin to show their true Saiyan heritage. All stats given above are for a Saiyan child that is four years old. Every year the Saiyan child gains +20 S.D.C. and +6 to Spd, every other year (age 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13) the child gains +1D10 ISP and +1D6 Hit Points, every three years (age 7, 10, and 13) the child gains +1D6+2 to PS, and every five years (age 9 and 14) the child gains +1D6 to PP and PE. A Saiyan child reached full adult maturity at the age of 14, but even before then, they have access to all other natural abilities of a Saiyan, such as Energizing and Oozaru Transformation.

2. Energizing :

With this ability, a Saiyan is able to focus their energy into increasing their strength and speed. A Saiyan can spend ISP and several melee actions and increase his physical attributes to incredible levels. For each level of experience, a Saiyan can spend one melee action and 2 ISP to add +5 to PS, +2 to PP, +4 to PE, +10 to Spd, +5 to Natural and M.D.C. Armor Ratings, +30 to his M.D.C. (M.D.C. calculated below), and all Ki Manipulation Techniques except Power Increasing Techniques are used as if the Saiyan had +1 level of experience. For example, a 3rd level Saiyan can spend up to 3 melee actions and 6 ISP (2 ISP per action) to gain a total bonus of +15 to PS, +9 to PE, +6 to PP, +30 to Spd, +3 to Natural and M.D.C. Armor Ratings, +30 to his M.D.C., and uses all non-Power Increasing Techniques at 6th level. However, a Saiyan does not need to increase to his maximum level all at once, he can spend one melee action at the beginning

of a fight and more at any point during a fight. When “energized,” a Saiyan’s S.D.C. and Hit Points are combined and divided by two to determine the Saiyan’s M.D.C., rounding all fractions down. For example, a Saiyan with 130 S.D.C. and 51 Hit Points would have 90 M.D.C. before the bonus mentioned above is added. Also, when “energized,” a Saiyan’s PS and PE become supernatural and he becomes a supernatural creature when attacked by magical weapons. When a Saiyan chooses to stop being energized, he instantly loses all bonuses and returns to normal. A Saiyan must spend 1 ISP for each minute that he remains energized, no matter how far allow he has energized.

3. Near Death Experience :

When a Saiyan recovers from a near death experience they become stronger than they were before the experience. A Saiyan has to be reduced to at least 1% of his base hit points and with all of his S.D.C. gone. When the Saiyan recovers, he gains the following bonuses: +10% to Hit Points, +20% to SDC, +15% to ISP, and +5 to PS, PE, PP, and Spd. If a Saiyan is placed at or below zero hit points and survives, the bonuses listed above are doubled.

4. Prehensile Tail :

All Saiyans have a monkey-like tail that gives them the following bonuses: +1 to strike and parry with the tail, +20% to climbing when the tail is used. The tail is strong enough to hold the Saiyan’s weight, and it can carry a third as much as the Saiyan can. If the tail of an adult Saiyan is removed, it will not grow back, but before then, the tail will spontaneously regenerate after 1D4+1 months. A Saiyan’s tail is their most vulnerable location, if it is grasped, it causes intense, debilitating pain to the Saiyan and they are unable to attack or defend themselves. If the tail is released, the pain ends instantly and the Saiyan can resume combat unhindered.

5. Oozaru Transformation :

All Saiyans that have tails can transform into a gigantic were-ape that is 60’ (18.3 m) tall when they see the light of the full moon. In this powerful form, their ISP is tripled and their S.D.C. and Hit Points combine with their fully energized M.D.C. bonus and the result is multiplied by five to determine the creature's total M.D.C. and it has an M.D.C. Armor Rating of 12. For example, a 4th level Saiyan with 130 S.D.C., 50 Hit Points, and a maximum M.D.C. bonus of 40 would have 1100 M.D.C. ((130+50+40) x5 = 1100) in Oozaru form. In addition, all physical attributes are double their maximum energized level and all Ki Manipulation Techniques except Power Increaseing Techniques are used as if the Saiyan was twice his level of experience. While the Saiyan is incredibly powerful in this form, he might lose control if he rolls under double his age on a percentile dice. The transformation into an Oozaru takes one full melee round and during this time the Saiyan cannot attack, but he instantly possesses the full M.D.C. value of the Oozaru. If a Saiyan loses his tail while in Oozaru form, he will instantly revert to his regular form and will not be “energized”.

6. Super Saiyan Transformation :

There are several levels of Super Saiyans, each more powerful than the previous level. Only a small percentage of the population can transform into Super Saiyans. It is said to run in special bloodlines, but the only known bloodlines is the royal family. Several survivors of the destruction of the planet of Vegita carried this special bloodline, and it is rumored to run through several surviving colonies of Saiyan Warriors. See the document dedicated to the Super Saiyan Transformation for more details.

Experience Level : Average experience level of 1D4+3.

Combat Skills : Starts with 3 attacks per melee (this is in addition to Hand-to-Hand combat skills), +3 to strike, +2 to dodge, +2 to parry, +1 to initiative, and +3 to roll with punch, fall, and impact.

Damage : Same as Humans. Penalties : The Saiyans are a very arrogant race. They believe that they are superior to all other races and any

enemy that they encounter will eventually be destroyed with a little patience. The Saiyans originally had a class system and they look down upon all those of the lower classes. They tend to underestimate opponents that they believe are less powerful than they are. The Saiyans also tend to show off their powers by allowing enemies to attack them to prove how superior the Saiyans are to their attackers.

Allies : Any powerful race that manages to earn the Saiyans respect, such as the Nameks and the Saibemen. Enemies : Any race that the Saiyans have attacked, and there are plenty of those.

Super Saiyan Transformation

Introduction

When facing dangers that would normally overcome normal opponents, some Saiyans have the ability to instantly increase their power dramaticly. It is unknown how the Saiyans developed this unusual natural ability or if there is ever a limit to how powerful a Saiyan can become, but so far twelve different variations have been discovered.

Many Saiyans live and die without ever achieving even the lowest of the Super Saiyan levels, but many would kill to have it. According to Saiyan records, it is believed that a special bloodline carries the ability to change into a Super Saiyan, but that bloodline was dispersed many centuries ago. Freiza's best scientists theorized that the Super Saiyan bloodline was just the result of a random mutation, and if that is true, then other similar mutations could still occur.

A Super Saiyan does not need to spend ISP to maintain his Super Saiyan form, but it is very taxing on the body. For every minute a Saiyan remains in any of these Super Saiyan forms, his current and maximum amount of Hit Points is

reduced by 2%, which decreases their M.D.C. accordingly. After 50 minutes the Saiyan's Hit Points is reduced to 0 and he falls unconscious and will revert to his normal, non-energized form. When Saiyans revert from being a Super Saiyan, their current and maximum amount of Hit Points is increased by 1% every 5 minutes until it reaches its original level. Eating a Senzu Bean will instantly restore a Saiyan’s maximum HP value even if eaten while in a Super Saiyan form.

A Saiyan can progress through the Super Saiyan forms using many different paths. Although all Saiyans must go through the Super Saiyan form, some go directly to the Super Saiyan Level 2 form without touching the Super Saiyan 2nd Grade, Super Saiyan 3rd Grade, or Super Saiyan Full Power forms. Each time a Saiyan reaches a new level of experience, the GM should secretly roll a 1D20 for each Super Saiyan form that the character can achieve and add the Saiyan's character level to the result. If that result is high enough to meet the conditions of that form, then the Saiyan can transform into that form with the proper motivating factors. However if that roll is lower then the required number, then their is no chance that the Saiyan can transform into that Super Saiyan form until they gain another level of experience.

The Super Saiyan Transformation is incredibly powerful, especially the third, forth, and fifth levels. GMs should be very careful about allowing a Saiyan character to be able to achieve this incredible level of power and they must be careful when determining if the Saiyan has a strong enough desire to transform. Do not allow the player to simply say their character REALLY wants to and give them the ability to transform. The ability to change into a Super Saiyan (especially the higher levels) allows the Saiyan race to be used for high-powered campaigns and for cosmic level campaigns where they are strong enough to fight Dragons and Godlings without help.

Oozaru Transformation

Described fully under the Saiyan RCC description. It is important to note that even in any of the Super Saiyan forms described below, a Saiyan with a tail will transform into an Oozaru under the described conditions. The Saiyan loses all bonuses, abilities, and penalties provided by the Super Saiyan form and he uses only his base stats. Even if the Oozaru form is less powerful than the form that the Saiyan was currently in, the Saiyan will still transform.

False Super Saiyan Transformation

Many Saiyans that are incapable of achieving the real level of Super Saiyan power have been able to achieve what is called the level of False Super Saiyan. This level gives the Saiyan a great boost in power, but it wears out the Saiyan’s body at an incredible rate. It has been determined that only those who are incapable of becoming Super Saiyans can become a False Super Saiyan. After a Saiyan has reached 5th level, there is a chance that they can transform into a False Super Saiyan. To determine whether the Saiyan can become a False Super Saiyan, roll the percentile dice. If the Saiyan is the child of a Super Saiyan, or knows that they are a descendent of a Super Saiyan, then this roll is unnecessary, it is automatically failed. If the result is 10

or less, then the Saiyan secretly comes from a Super Saiyan bloodline and has no chance of transforming into a False Super Saiyan. If the result was 11 or higher, then the possibility exists and for every level, starting at level 5, the character rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 18 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go False Super Saiyan with the proper motivating factors.

To become a False Super Saiyan for the first time, the Saiyan must have a strong desire; this desire usually comes in the form of anger, but can come from any other source the GM decides is valid. This can occur with the death of a friend or the frustration to defeat an unstoppable enemy, or it can be artificially created through the psychic power of Bio-Manipulation or similar powers and spells. Once the level of desire is sufficient (GM's decision), the Saiyan will become a False Super Saiyan, but there is no change in the Saiyan’s appearance other then their hair will stand straight up while they are in this form. The physical transformation is instantaneous and the results take effect immediately. However, once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be fully “energized” and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a False Super Saiyan.

Special Abilities : All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan was +1 level higher.

Bonuses : +5 to PS, PP, and PE, +10 to Spd, +1D4x10 ISP, and increases the Saiyan’s base S.D.C. and Hit Points by 50% (M.D.C. is determined by adding the S.D.C. and Hit Points together, dividing by 2, and then adding the energized M.D.C. bonus). Penalties : This form wears the body out twice as fast, forcing the Saiyan to lose 4% of their current and maximum amount of Hit Points every minute, or 1% every melee. After reverting back to normal form, the current and maximum level of Hit Points is restored at the same rate, 1% every five minutes.

After a Saiyan has reached 5th level, there is a chance that they can transform into a Super Saiyan. To determine whether the Saiyan can become a Super Saiyan, roll the percentile dice. If the Saiyan is the child of a Super Saiyan or knows that they are a descendent of a Super Saiyan, then this roll is unnecessary, it is automatically successful. Otherwise, if the result is greater than 10, the Saiyan does not come from the proper bloodline and there is no chance that the character can ever transform into a Super Saiyan. If the result was 10 or less or the Saiyan is a descendent of a Super Saiyan, then the possibility exists. For every level, starting at level 5, the character rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 18 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan with the proper motivating factors.

To become a Super Saiyan for the first time, the Saiyan must have a strong desire; this desire usually comes in the form of anger. This can occur with the death of a friend or the frustration to defeat an unstoppable enemy, or it can be artificially created through the psychic power of Bio-Manipulation or similar powers and spells. Once the level of desire is sufficient (GM's decision), the Saiyan will become a Super Saiyan and the hair will turn blond and the eyes will turn green. The transformation is instantaneous and the results take effect immediately. However, once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be fully “energized” and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan.

Special Abilities : All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan was +2 levels higher.

Super Saiyan 2nd Grade Transformation

After becoming a Super Saiyan, there is a good chance that the Saiyan can achieve a higher level of power called Super Saiyan 2nd Grade. It is also referred to as Ascended Super Saiyan. To become a Super Saiyan 2nd Grade, the Saiyan must be at least 6th level and for every level, starting at level 6, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 20 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan 2nd Grade.

Once that level is reached, the Saiyan can become a Super Saiyan 2nd Grade. The Saiyan’s appearance is little different from Super Saiyan, the Saiyan’s hair becomes a little longer and there is a slight increase in muscle mass, but other than that it is mainly a mental improvement than a physical one. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be in Super Saiyan form and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan 2nd Grade.

This form is also referred to as Ultra Super Saiyan. To become a Super Saiyan 3rd Grade, the Saiyan must be at least 7th level and for every level, starting at level 7, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 20 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan 3rd Grade.

Similar to Super Saiyan 2nd Grade, achieving Super Saiyan 3rd Grade is simply a matter of possessing a certain level of power and does not require a great mental force. Once that level is reached, the Saiyan can become a Super Saiyan 3rd Grade. The Saiyan will gain an extra 2’ (0.61 m) in height and an extra 50 lbs (22.7 kg), and his limbs will grow to be out of proportion to the rest of his body. Super Saiyan 3rd Grade is an

awkward appearance, and while it does give great power, the penalties associated are almost not even worth the effort. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be in Super Saiyan form and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan 3rd Grade.

Special Abilities : All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan was +3 levels higher.

Super Saiyan Full Power Transformation

Super Saiyan Full Power is sort of a combination of Super Saiyan 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade and is only available for Saiyans that can already transform into one of those two forms. For the few people that become Super Saiyans, this is usually the highest level they ever achieve. After becoming a Super Saiyan, there is a good chance that the Saiyan can achieve a higher level of power called Super Saiyan Full Power. It is also referred to as Super Saiyan 4th Grade or Super Saiyan Final Grade. To become a Super Saiyan Full Power, the Saiyan must be at least 8th level and for every level, starting at level 8, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 20 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan Full Power.

Similar to Super Saiyan 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade, achieving Super Saiyan Full Power is simply a matter of possessing a certain level of power and does not require a great mental force. Once that level is reached, the Saiyan can become a Super Saiyan Full Power. After becoming a Super Saiyan there is a chance that the Saiyan can achieve the next level of power, the Super Saiyan Level 2. To become a Super Saiyan Level 2, the Saiyan must be at least 7 th level and for every level, starting at level 7, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 22 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan Full Power with the proper motivating factors.

To become a Super Saiyan level 2 for the first time, the Saiyan must become have an even stronger desire then was required to achieve the level of Super Saiyan, usually in the form of intense rage. This can occur with the death of a close friend or family member, the betrayal of a close ally, or the intense desire to defeat an enemy. Once the level of desire is sufficient (GM's decision), the Super Saiyan will become a Super Saiyan Level 2. There is a small, but noticeable change in the Saiyan’s appearance: increase in muscle mass and head hair becomes longer and becomes more yellow then blond. The transformation is instantaneous and the results take effect immediately. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be in Super Saiyan form and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan Level 2.

Special Abilities : All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan was +6 levels higher.

Bonuses : +15 to PS, PP, and PE, +30 to Spd, +3D4x10 ISP, and doubles the Saiyan’s Super Saiyan S.D.C. and Hit Points (M.D.C. is determined by adding the S.D.C. and Hit Points together, dividing by 2, and then adding triple the energized M.D.C. bonus). Mystic Super Saiyan Transformation

After becoming a Super Saiyan Level 2, there is a good chance that the Saiyan can achieve a higher level of power called Mystic Super Saiyan. To become a Mystic Super Saiyan, the Saiyan must be at least 8 th level and for every level, starting at level 8, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 24 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Mystic Super Saiyan.

Unlike most other levels of being a Super Saiyan, achieving Mystic Super Saiyan is simply a matter of possessing a certain level of power and does not require a great mental force. Once that level is reached, the

Saiyan can become a Mystic Super Saiyan. The Saiyan’s appearance is little different from the Saiyan’s original appearance, which means they will no longer have the distinctive blond hair and green eyes of a Super Saiyan. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be in Super Saiyan Level 2 form and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Mystic Super Saiyan.

Special Abilities : 1. All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan

was +8 levels higher. 2. The Mystic Super Saiyan gains several Ki Manipulation Abilities even if he is not a student in the

Art of Ki Manipulation. The Super Saiyan gains 4 Standard Energy Attacks, 2 Special Energy Attacks, 1 Maneuvering Technique, and 1 Miscellaneous Ki Technique. These techniques are chosen when the Saiyan first becomes a Mystic Super Saiyan and are the same every time he transforms. These techniques can be new abilities, or they can be used to increase the Saiyan’s ability in a given technique. These techniques can only be used when the Saiyan is transformed into a Mystic Super Saiyan.

Super Saiyan Level 3 Transformation

After becoming a Super Saiyan Level 2, there is a chance that the Saiyan can achieve the next level of power, the Super Saiyan Level 3. To become a Super Saiyan Level 3, the Saiyan must be at least 10 th level and for every level, starting at level 10, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 25 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan Level 3 with the proper motivating factors.

To become a Super Saiyan Level 3 for the first time, the Saiyan must become unbelievably angry. This can occur with the death of a close friend or family member or the betrayal of a close ally, the anger must be natural and cannot occur by using psychic or magical powers. Once the level of anger is sufficient (GM's decision), the Saiyan will become a Super Saiyan Level 3. There is a significant change in the Saiyan’s appearance: there is a great increase in muscle mass, the hair becomes golden yellow and becomes incredibly long. The transformation is instantaneous and the results take effect immediately. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be in Super Saiyan Level 2 form and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan Level 3.

Special Abilities : All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan was +10 levels higher.

Bonuses : +20 to PS, PP, and PE, +40 to Spd, +4D4x10 ISP, and doubles the Saiyan’s Super Saiyan Level 2 S.D.C. and Hit Points (M.D.C. is determined by adding the S.D.C. and Hit Points together, dividing by 2, and then adding four times the energized M.D.C. bonus). Also, the Saiyan has a bonus of +4 to all combat rolls, +3 attacks per melee, and has a base Natural and M.D.C. Armor Rating of 7 (before bonuses from energizing). Bonuses are determined once and are the same whenever the Saiyan transforms. These bonuses are cumulative with the Energized, Super Saiyan, and Super Saiyan Level 2 bonuses.

Golden Oozaru Transformation

Once a Saiyan has achieved the level of a Super Saiyan Level 3, their normal Oozaru form is replaced by the Golden Oozaru. Whenever the Saiyan would transform into an Oozaru, the Saiyan will instead transform into a Golden Oozaru. The Golden Oozaru has golden fur, is 40’ (12.2 m) tall, and is even more powerful than a normal Oozaru.

In this powerful form, their ISP is multiplied by five and their base S.D.C. and Hit Points combine with their fully energized M.D.C. bonus and the result is multiplied by ten to determine the creature's total M.D.C. for the Golden Oozaru form and it has a Natural and M.D.C. Armor Rating of 15. For example, a 10 th level Saiyan with 200 S.D.C., 110 Hit Points, and a maximum M.D.C. bonus of 100 would have 4100 M.D.C. ((200+110+100) x10 = 4100) in Golden Oozaru form. All physical attributes are triple their maximum energized level and all Ki Manipulation Techniques except Power Increaseing Techniques are used as if the Saiyan was three times his level of experience. While the Saiyan is incredibly powerful in this form, he might lose control if he rolls under half his age on a percentile dice. The transformation into a Golden Oozaru takes one full melee round, during this time the Saiyan cannot attack, but he instantly possesses the full M.D.C. value of the Golden Oozaru but can take no actions. If a Saiyan loses his tail while in Golden Oozaru form, they will instantly revert to their regular form and will not be “energized”.

Super Saiyan Level 4 Transformation

The Super Saiyan level 4 is considered to be the ultimate level of power for a Saiyan Warrior, very few Saiyans can achieve this level and none in the recorded history of the Saiyan race have ever achieved this level of power and survived. To become a Super Saiyan Level 4, the Saiyan must be at least 12 th level and for every level, starting at level 12, the Saiyan rolls 1D20 and adds their character level to the result. If the result is 38 or greater then it is possible for the Saiyan to go Super Saiyan Level 4 with the proper motivating factors.

To become a Super Saiyan Level 4 for the first time, the Saiyan must in Golden Oozaru form and must be facing an opponent that is more powerful (GM's decision) and must be hit with an attack that destroys at least 50% of the Golden Oozaru’s total MDC (not current), including volleys. When this happens the Saiyan may lose complete control, roll the percentile dice. If the result is higher than double the Saiyan’s age, then the Saiyan has lost control and will instantly transform into a Super Saiyan Level 4. If the roll is 00, then the Saiyan loses control regardless of their age. There is a significant change in the Saiyan’s appearance: there is a great increase in muscle mass, the hair becomes shoulder length and deep black, and the Saiyan’s body is covered in a very thin layer of red fur, except on their chest, face, and neck, and the Saiyan’s eyes becoming completely black. The transformation is instantaneous and the results take effect immediately. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be fully “energized” and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan Level 4. This means that the Saiyan does not have to go through any of the other Super Saiyan Levels before becoming a Super Saiyan Level 4, but he still gains the bonuses from those previous levels.

Special Abilities : 1. All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan

was +12 levels higher. 2. As long as the Saiyan is in Super Saiyan Level 4 form, the Saiyan will never transform into an

Oozaru or a Golden Oozaru. 3. A Super Saiyan Level 4 can create a dimensional portal once per day that will allow instantaneous

transport to another dimension or any location in the same dimension. The portal can be created to any dimension that the Saiyan has traveled to or it can be set to take the Saiyan to a random dimension. There is a 75% chance that the random dimension will be Rifts Earth, Phase World, Wormwood, or a similar dimensional crossroad.

4. The Super Saiyan Level 4 also gains several Ki Manipulation Abilities even if he is not a student in the Art of Ki Manipulation. The Super Saiyan gains 3 Standard Energy Attacks, 1 Special Energy Attack, 1 Maneuvering Technique, 2 Miscellaneous Ki Techniques, and 1 Legendary Ki Technique. These techniques are chosen when the Saiyan first becomes a Super Saiyan Level 4 and are the same every time he transforms. These techniques can be new abilities, or they can be used to increase the Saiyan’s ability in a given technique. These techniques can only be used when the Saiyan is transformed into a Super Saiyan Level 4.

Super Saiyan Level 5 Transformation

Author's Note: It is important to mention that Super Saiyan Level 5 does not actually exist in the Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, or Dragon Ball GT series. It is a work of fiction inspired by the image shown above. Also note that the image was not drawn by the artist as shown on the image, the original artist is unknown to me and I chose to keep the false name on it for the sake of completeness.

The Super Saiyan 5 is the ultimate level of power for a Saiyan, it was rumored to exist in the ancient history of the Saiyans, but the knowledge of it was lost with the destruction of the planet Vegita. No modern Saiyans had ever managed to achieve this level of power. It was not until the few remaining Saiyans began to explore other dimensions that the Super Saiyan Level 5 finally manifested itself.

A lone Saiyan was exploring a planet in the Three Galaxies, near Phase World, when a large Splugorth army attacked him. The Saiyan transformed into a Super Saiyan Level 4, but it still was not enough to overcome his attackers, who were growing in number as reinforcements arrived. The warrior believed all would be lost and he would be killed until he heard a voice in his head that told him to be calm and that new power would flow from sources that he never even suspected he could access. As the attackers continued to strike at the Saiyan, he suddenly stopped fighting and simply stood still in the middle of the battlefield, his face composed in an expression of ultimate inner peace. Then with a sudden blinding light emanating from the Saiyan, he was transformed into the first Super Saiyan Level 5 in modern history. The Saiyan proceeded to kill all of his attackers with the same expression of inner peace that he wore just prior to his transformation.

To become a Super Saiyan Level 5 for the first time, a Saiyan must be a Super Saiyan Level 4 and be in a situation where he will lose a battle, no matter what the Saiyan could try. There must be nothing that he could do to win and no possibility of escape or surrender. The Saiyan must also have an ME of 20 or greater and be able to achieve complete inner peace (GM’s decision). If the Saiyan can achieve this level of inner peace, then he might (again, GM's decision) be contacted by a higher power that will be able to give him the energy required to alter his DNA to hold the amount of power that Super Saiyan Level 5 offers. The being that contacts the Saiyan is unknown; it could be the Cosmic Forge or another extremely powerful intelligence.

There is a significant change in the Saiyan’s appearance, there is a great increase in muscle mass, the hair becomes very long and white, the Saiyan’s body is covered in a very thin layer of white fur, except their chest, face, and neck, and the Saiyan’s eyes becoming completely red. The transformation is instantaneous and the results take effect immediately. Once a Saiyan has transformed the first time, he can transform again at will, but must be fully “energized” and then spend an additional melee action to go through the final transformation to become a Super Saiyan 5. This means that the Saiyan does not have to go through any of the other Super Saiyan levels before becoming a Super Saiyan Level 5, but he still gains the bonuses of the previous levels.

Special Abilities : 1. All Ki Manipulation Techniques, except Power Increasing Techniques, are used as if the Saiyan

was +15 levels higher. 2. The Super Saiyan Level 5 has the first two special abilities of the Super Saiyan Level 4 form in

addition to the special abilities listed below. 3. The Super Saiyan Level 5 has complete immunity to all mind altering affects from spells, psionics,

drugs, or gases. 4. The Super Saiyan Level 5 has the ability to disrupt anyone’s possession or control over another

living creature (including animals). 5. The Saiyan can choose any 3 Deific Powers from the following list: Bio-Regeneration: Deific,

Control Tectonics, Control Weather: Local, Deific Curse: God-Blind, Deific Curse: Pox, Deific Curse: Pestilence, Dispel Deific Power, Display Deific Omen, Forge Holy Weapon, Godblaze, Hellfire Blasts, Resurrection: Deific, Mobile Sphere of Destruction, and Weaponwright. The Super Saiyan Level 5 must pay the cost for these powers in ISP instead of PPE, but the cost in body investment is unchanged. The Saiyan is not a full-fledged god, even though he has powers only the gods possess. He do not have followers and cannot perform any other god abilities except for the three Deific powers selected above. These powers are chosen when the Saiyan first becomes a Super Saiyan Level 5 and are the same every time he transforms. These powers can only be used when the Saiyan is transformed into a Super Saiyan Level 5. All Deific Powers are in the Palladium Fantasy RPG Book titled Dragons and Gods.

Bonuses : +40 to PS, PP, and PE, +80 to Spd, +6D6x10 ISP, and quadruples the Saiyan’s Super Saiyan Level 4 S.D.C. and Hit Points (M.D.C. is determined by adding the S.D.C. and Hit Points together and then adding six times the energized M.D.C. bonus). Also, the Saiyan has a bonus of +6 to all combat rolls, +5 attacks per melee, and has a base Natural and M.D.C. Armor Rating of 10 (before bonuses from energizing). Bonuses are determined once and are the same whenever the Saiyan transforms. These bonuses are cumulative with the Energized, Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Level 2, Super Saiyan Level 3, and Super Saiyan Level 4 bonuses.

Saiyan Warrior OCC

The Saiyan Warriors begin training while they are very young and it lasts until they reach adulthood. They become the most powerful warriors among a race of warriors. Once a Saiyan child is conceived it is determined early just how powerful the child will become. If the child is of sufficient strength, it will be subjected to intensive subconscious training while they are still developing inside the mother. When the child emerges, they already contain most of the

knowledge associated with this OCC, but they do not have enough control over their bodies in order to use this knowledge. Once a Saiyan baby has reached the age of two, it is taken from their parents and subjected to extensive physical and mental training for the next twenty years. At the end of this period they become full Saiyan Warriors.

Saiyan Warriors form most of the armies used by the Saiyans to prepare planets to be sold on the galactic markets. For weak planets, they would use Saiyan Scouts, but only if resistance was expected to be light. Saiyan Warriors almost always travel in groups of two when traveling to a new planet. This was to provide the warriors with a sparring partner so they could continue training and to ensure that a lone Saiyan Warrior does not decide to defect and join another organization.

Vegita and Nappa are good examples of Saiyan Warriors. Both were highly trained and considered to be among the most powerful members of their race. Vegita was the future leader of the Saiyan people and had received special training to make him even more powerful than regular Saiyan Warriors. Nappa was the leader of the Saiyan army and was an exceptional warrior from birth, although he had limited intelligence. Unfortunately, the standard Saiyan practices for determining a babies fighting potential is not perfectly accurate and could not tell that Kakarott would become the most powerful fighter in the galaxy.

O.C.C. Abilities:

1. Physical Training

Saiyan Warriors are given extensive and often brutal training to improve their combat abilities beyond that of normal Saiyans.

o Bonuses : Add +2D6 to PS, +1D6 to PP and PE, and add 2D4x10 S.D.C. and 1D4x10 hit points. The Warriors gain the following bonuses: +2 vs. horror factor, +2 vs. all types of magic and psionics, add an extra attack per melee at levels 1, 6, and 12, +1 to initiative at levels 1, 3, 7, and 12, and +2 to strike, parry and dodge. Also, Saiyan Warriors suffer no penalties if their tail is grasped.

2. Ki Manipulation Techniques

Saiyans Warriors have additional training and expertise in the area of Ki Manipulation and as such they gain an additional Ki Manipulation Ability at levels 1, 4, 8, 12, and 15. These abilities can come from any category except for Maneuvering Techniques, Power Increasing Techniques, and Legendary Ki Techniques.

Must be a Saiyan and have PS 30, PE 15, and ME 12.

Saiyan Scout OCC

Using an advanced technique to train infants before they are born and while they are still babies, Saiyans can create Saiyan Scouts and send them to other planets before they even learn how to walk. During the trip the babies will be given all the knowledge and abilities it needs to complete its mission. Saiyan Scouts are used to prepare planets for sale if the population is believed to not present a significant threat. Scouts are also used to explore for new planets in areas far from other Saiyans.

A Saiyan Scout is not as strong a fighter as the Saiyan Warrior is, but he is still more than capable of defeating most enemies. Scouts are usually required to operate alone without any support from other Saiyans since their missions tend to place them on unexplored planets. The Warriors, who consider Scouts to be inferior and weaker, look down at them and are constantly trying to pick fights with them, but on average, Scouts are more intelligent and more cunning than the Warriors. Unfortunately, in the culture that the Saiyans live in, strength is the only thing that really matters.

Raditz and Kakarott (Goku) are both examples of Saiyan Scouts. They were both trained as babies and then sent off into space. With Kakarott, he was injured while still very young and lost all of his programming as a Saiyan Scout. He was then trained on Earth as a Dedicated Martial Artist from the Ninjas and Superspies Book and was trained in the Art of Ki Manipulation by his mentor, Mr. Roshi. On the other hand, Raditz destoryed the population on the planet he was sent to and returned to the Saiyan race. He continued to be sent on several missions, including a mission that required the personal assistance of the leader of the Saiyan Army, Nappa. This mission kept Raditz and Nappa away from the planet Vegita when it was destroyed.

Introduction

Saiyans often rely upon their own abilities, but they have been known to use additional equipment when it is necessary. Even before their time with Frieza, the Saiyans had acquired some unique equipment, but after they joined forces with Frieza, more equipment was designed exclusively for them or was inspired by them.

Saiyan Armor

Originally designed by the peaceful race that inhabited the planet of Vegita, the Saiyans decided to retain the ability to produce these suits of armor when they destroyed the other race. When Frieza first contacted the Saiyans, he was quite impressed with the technological level of the armor and acquired the ability to produce these suits, and has since then made them standard issue on all of his troops. The armor is virtually weightless, highly flexible, and instantly expandable. This allows a Saiyan to wear the armor in their normal form and then transform into an Oozaru and still be protected by the armor. This armor provides a penalty of -5% to prowl.

M.D.C. per Location : Main Body - 200

Advanced Saiyan Armor

This is a more advanced version of the regular Saiyan Armor that Frieza’s forces designed. Very few of these suits were built before Frieza’s death, but Frieza and Captain Ginyu, leader of the mercenary group known as the Ginyu Force, wore sets. It is nearly identical to the regular Saiyan Armor, but does not have shoulder guards, hip guards, or a crotch guard, eliminating the penalty to prowl. Using technology on Earth, the Capsule Corporation was able to produce Advanced Saiyan Armor, and during the battle against the android Cell, the Saiyan warriors on Earth wore suits of armor of this type.

Designed by a race that worked briefly with Frieza before he destroyed them, these Scouters allow the wearer to determine the exact power level of any nearby person. This Scouter can also locate any creature that has a power level of over 10 within a radius of 50 miles (80.5 km). The Scouter can also be used to locate powerful magical items, such as rune objects, within a radius of 5 miles (8 km). The Scouters are also equipped with extremely powerful Faster-Then-Light transmitters and can instantly transmit information from one Scouter to another within a radius of 10 light years. Two-way communication is possible only within a radius of 2 light years.

M.D.C. : 15

Forearm Blasters

These units are not used by most Saiyans since they prefer to rely on their personal powers instead of this kind of technology. This weapon was designed by Frieza’s forces and is standard issue with all of his non-Saiyan troops.

M.D.C. : 30 Range : 2000' (610 m) underwater, 4000' (1220 m) through atmosphere, and 32,000' (9760 m) in space. Damage : 2D4x10 M.D. per blast Rate of Fire : Equal to number of combined hand-to-hand attacks (usually 4 to 6). Payload : Conditionally unlimited, can fire 40 blasts before the blaster is exhausted, but it recharges at a rate

of 1 blast per melee round.

Single-Person Space Pod

This is another invention of henchmen working for Frieza and is used extensively by the Saiyans. Since very few Saiyan warriors were needed in order to cleanse a planet, there was never a need to design a ship to carry large numbers of them. This pod used incredible miniaturization technology and even though it is only 5' (1.5 m) in diameter, it houses an advanced environmental system and an incredibly fuel-efficient FTL drive. Those traveling inside the pod are kept in a state of suspended animation that minimizes the resourced needed to keep them alive.

Crew : One humanoid, the recycling and suspended animation system is designed specifically for the species using the pod, so a captured pod would probably need modification to be used by another race.

M.D.C. per Location : o Pod Door - 150 o Main Body - 350

Range : The pod has enough fuel to travel for three years without stopping, but the environmental systems needs to be replenished every six months. To replenish the environmental system, the pod can simply enter the atmosphere of a planet that would be even partially habitable to the occupant for ten minutes.

Speed : The pod can travel at a maximum speed of 3 light-years per hour.

Regeneration Tube

The Regeneration Tube allows any being inside of it to be healed much faster than normal. Frieza’s men had only a basic regeneration tube until the discovery of the Saiyans and using samples of Saiyan DNA, they created a new healing fluid that allows for a much greater rate of regeneration. Any being in the tube regains their S.D.C., Hit Points, ISP, and M.D.C. back at a rate of 5% per hour in the tube, this means that at maximum, no being would take longer to heal then 20 hours straight, no matter how much S.D.C., Hit Points, ISP, or M.D.C. they had. While in the tube, the being is in a state of near meditation, their body and muscles are perfectly relaxed, but their minds are active. Although most prefer to sleep while in the regeneration tube, some prefer to stay awake while they are healed.

Average Saiyan Statistics

Saiyans alter their statistics rapidly by energizing to full power and transforming into Super Saiyans. To assist players and game masters that might wish to use an average Saiyan in their games, I have compiled several tables that show specific attributes and statistics of an average Saiyan at various levels of experience. The Power Levels below assume that the average Saiyan has 14 PPE. Also, even though an SDC and Hit Point values are shown, if the saiyan has has an MDC value, that value is used to determine the Saiyan's power level.

It is important to note that a Saiyan that is capable of transforming into a False Super Saiyan cannot transform into a Super Saiyan, and vice versa. Also, not all Super Saiyan forms may be available to every Saiyan capable of transforming into a Super Saiyan. For example, some Super Saiyans can transform directly from Super Saiyan to Super Saiyan Level 2 with nothing in between.
