Articles need to be submitted, in writing, to the Rectory by 11:00 am Friday the week before the Bulletin is printed.

Sainte Anne Parish is a faith community in the Roman Catholic tradition. We strive to live up to the motto: "We Are Family". We see ourselves as a local expression of the universal Church, the People of God, the Body of Christ. Through God's grace we seek to be welcoming and loving. Our life centers on the week-end celebration of the Eucharist. We meet Jesus Christ in the Eucharist and are then challenged to bring His love to others.

O glorious St. Ann, you are filled with compas-sion for those who invoke you and with love for those who suffer! Heavily burdened with the weight of my troubles, I cast myself at your feet and humbly beg of you to take the present inten-tion which I recommend to you in your special care.

Please recommend it to your daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and place it before the throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it to a happy issue. Continue to intercede for me until my request is granted. But, above all, obtain for me the grace one day to see my God face to face, and with you and Mary and all the saints to praise and bless Him for all eternity. Amen.

Message from Fr. John: This is my last opportunity to share some reflections with you in the weekly bulletin as administra-tor here at Ste. Anne Parish. First of all, I wish to thank those of you who arranged the reception for me after the 11:00a.m. Mass on last Sunday. Thank you to all who were present and to the many who have wished me well in my retirement and future ministry in the town of Winchester. Thank you to those who donated to the Salem St. Vincent de Paul Group to assist them in their outstanding work with the poor and needy of our area. During the month of June in a sense I am “a man without a country”. My assignment here ends on this Friday, May 31, as I become a senior retired priest and I begin ministry at St. Eulalia Parish in Winchester on Monday, July 1. As Cardinal Sean said to me at our Annual Convocation, “John, enjoy the month of June”. During June I am planning two weeks of vaca-tion, six days at the annual Fraternity of Priests Conference at Franciscan University of Steubenville, and a week to finalize my move. During June you will probably see me in the area from time to time. Not only do I intend to enjoy the month of June, but I have enjoyed my 49 years of priestly ministry here and in the other parishes where I have served. I am sure I will enjoy life at St. Eulalia. Certainly there have been difficult and painful moments as is true in every life and vocation, but I am very grateful to the Lord for the call to be a Catholic priest. Please pray for me as I will for you. Pray for and encourage vocations to the priesthood – we need them. Please remember that the greatest need and challenge here at Ste. Anne Parish is to reach out to the countless Catholics of our area who no longer practice their faith and lovingly invite them to return to the Church and to the Mass which is the source and summit of our lives. Thank you and God bless you and yours, Father John

Tuesday Evening Adoration and Rosary: Please join in the Tuesday evening 6:30p.m. Eucharistic Adoration and Praying of the Holy Rosary. With extra effort we could fill our chapel with praying people. Pray especially for the renewal and growth of Ste. Anne Parish. Mary, the Mother of the Lord, has constantly asked for the daily praying of the Rosary. At the very least join in this prayer once a week.

What is a Cursillo? (Pronounced: Cur-see-yo). The Cursillo is an invitation for you to experience the love of Je-sus Christ on a personal level and to bring this love and joy into your daily life. At the Saint Basil Salvatorian Center in Methuen, Massachusetts, Cursillo is open to Christians at least 21 years of age. The Cursillo begins on Thursday evening and concludes on Sunday evening. During the weekend, you will hear talks given by a team of lay people and spiritual directors. You will have the opportunity to participate in small table discussions, prayer, Mass, and great meals. Cursillo weekends are usually held on the first weekend of the month. For men, the Cursillo is held in October, December, February and April. For women, the Cursillo is held in November, January, March, May and June. For mar-ried couples, it is recommended that husbands attend first.

Evangelization Notes: May 26 ~ Sixth Sunday of Easter In our first reading, we hear more about the growing pains of the early Church. The Apostles were doing something that had never been before, building a community of believers in Jesus Christ, Son of God. There were bound to be misun-derstandings and differences of opinion. Even today, as the Church of Boston focuses on strengthening evangelization efforts and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ, peo-ple are hesitant to put their faith into action. Jesus’ words in today’s Gospel sustained the early Church, and they must sustain us also: “Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.” Rely on the Holy Spirit – the Advocate – who is still with us.

Gardening and Landscaping: In recent weeks at Mass the call has gone out for people to help with Gardening and Land-scaping to beautify our parish properties. Sadly and initially there was no response. Finally two parishioners have agreed to help occasionally in addition to one faithful person who has volunteered for 4 years. This is hardly enough and we need your help. We are now focusing on Gardening: pruning, trim-ming, fertilizing, mulching as well as planting flower, bulbs, plants and bushes around the church and rectory. Thank you to those who donated for the Easter flowers, many of which will now take their place around the church and rectory. Many thanks to those who have brought us their own plants from home. Thanks to those who have donated mulch and to two parishioners who bring many yard waster bags to the transfer station. At present we need soil to fill in bald spots and depres-sions, fertilizer, mulch, CONE flowers, Black Eyed Susans and a butterfly or lilac bush. Monetary donations are also accept-ed. Thank you to Alma Pelletier who is heading up this effort and putting in countless hours. Please contact her at 978-500-6556. Remember that this is your parish family and we need and depend on your assistance.

St. Michael Prayer: In view of the many crises throughout the world, in our own country, and in the Church, a growing number of the American bishops are requiring or requesting that the Prayer to St. Michael, the Archangel, be prayed at the end of every Mass. We are now praying this prayer after Daily Mass and on the week-ends at all Masses. It is found in the bulletin and can be found on the back cover of the Heritage Missal. This prayer was also prayed after each Mass until the 1960s. Pray it also in your families.

Ministry Weekend: Thank you to each of you who volunteered for one of the Liturgical Ministries on our recent Ministry Week-end. Your participation is so important and necessary for build-ing up our parish and helping to make the weekend celebrations of the Eucharist as prayerful and beautiful as possible. We do it for the glory of God. However, one of the important ministries that did not receive many volunteers was the Ministry of Communion Ministers. We still do not have the required number of persons to ena-ble us to offer Holy Communion under both kinds (the conse-crated host and the cup) at all Masses. Also we have some dedicated members of our parish who cannot come to Mass and are confined to their homes who wish to receive the Body and Blood of Christ regularly. Please pray and ask the Lord if He is calling you to this ministry. Certainly the Lord provides and raises up enough people to serve the needs of the parish com-munity.

Discipleship Week 2019: Forming the Next Generation of Saints! Calling all high school students! Join other teens from all around New England to dig deep in your Catholic faith, learn more about the Gospel, prayer, leadership, and how to live as a disciple of Christ. The camp will take place on As-sumption College’s beautiful campus, Wed. June 26 – Sun. June 30. For more information visit, disicplesinmission.com/discipleshipweek.
