The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

“Remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you have learned it, and from infancy you have known the sacred scriptures, which are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scriptures is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction and for training in righteousness, so that those who belong to Jesus may be competent, equipped for every good work.” When is the last time you opened your

bible at home, or listened with great attention as the scriptures were proclaimed at mass? When did you reflect on God’s word, during the week after hearing it at liturgy, or heard a text which was familiar to you? When did you think it might be helpful to attend a bible study? The words above which Paul wrote to Timothy are invitations to us, so we can grow in our faith. The teaching reminds us of growing after first communion, confirmation or our marriage. We continue to grow older, are we growing in holiness? Pope Francis’ exhortation offers us the beatitudes as the path for holiness. The bible in your living room has allergies. It is allergic to dust. Please open it read it and heed it! “Pero tú permanece fiel a la doctrina que aprendiste y de la que estás plenamente convencido: tú sabes de quiénes la has recibido. Recuerda que desde la niñez conoces las Sagradas Escrituras: ellas pueden darte la sabiduría que conduce a la salvación, mediante la fe en Cristo Jesús. Las palabras que escribió San Pablo a Timoteo son una invitación a nosotros, para que crezcamos en nuestra fe. La enseñanza nos recuerda cómo crecimos luego de la primera comunión, confirmación y matrimonio. Continuamos creciendo en años, creciendo en santidad. La exhortación del Papa Francisco nos ofrece las bienaventuranzas como el camino a la santidad. La biblia en la sala de su casa tiene alergias. Es alérgica al polvo. Por favor, ¡ábrala, léala y póngale atención! .

Cristo si definisce di fronte ad un mondo diviso in due: quello degli oppressori senza Dio e senza cuore, e quello degli oppressi senza protezione. Egli scopre un peccato: il peccato sociale, più forte che mai, antico quanto l’uomo; ed egli lo analizza in profondità nell’ingenuità di una parabola dalla quale trae un duplice insegnamento. Quello del clamore che sale verso Dio gridando l’ingiustizia irritante in una preghiera fiduciosa e senza risentimento, tenacemente serena e senza scoraggiamenti, con la

sicurezza che verrà ascoltata da un giudice che diventa il Padre degli orfani e il consolatore delle vedove. D’altro canto, Gesù stesso prende posizione, rivoltandosi come una forza trasformatrice dell’uomo su questa terra deserta di ogni pietà, per mezzo della risposta personale della sua propria sofferenza, agonizzante, in un giudizio vergognoso, senza difesa e senza colpa. Neanche lui viene ascoltato, ma si abbandona ciecamente a suo Padre, dalla sua croce, che ottiene per tutti la liberazione. La sua unica forza viene dal potere di una accettazione, certa, ma profetica, denunciante. Ci chiede, dalla sua croce: quando ritornerò a voi troverò tutta questa fede, che prega nella rivolta?
