MARY’S MEALS With last weeks hurricane many people were not able to make a donation to Mary’s meals. Below is the description of the work of Mary’s Meals. You can still contribute to their work by placing a donation in the Mission Cooperative en-velope or a plain envelope with Mary’s Meals written on it.
Mary’s Meals’ vision is that every child receive a daily meal in their place of education. Mary’s Meals works in some of the world’s poorest communities, providing meals to children in their schools. In this way, Mary’s Meals meets chil-dren’s immediate need for food and basic nourishment, while at the same time enabling more children to attend school and to receive a basic education that can be a means out of a terrible cycle of debilitating poverty. We began by provid-ing 200 children school meals in Malawi in 2002, and today we are thankful to say that more than 1.8 million children eat Mary’s Meals each school day in 19 countries in the developing world.
