THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Statement regarding the removal from

ministry of Fr. James Mickus Archbishop Coakley on November 4

th announced the

removal of Fr. James Mickus from ministry pending

investigation of an allegation of sexual abuse of a

minor. Fr. Mickus serves as pastor of Our Lady of

Sorrows in Chandler and Saint Louis in Stroud. The

allegation does not involve Fr. Mickus’s current

parishes. The allegation is under review by the

archdiocesan Review Board and an independent firm

hired by the archdiocese to review and investigate

allegations of abuse by priests from 1960 to 2018.

An administrator will be assigned to the parish and

mission. For more information, go to the

Archdiocese web page: www.archokc.org.

The Knights of Columbus will be selling Christmas cards after the Masses starting November 10, 2018. Come see us at the main church entrance to make your selections. Lots of new Christmas cards are available.

Estate planning seminar The Catholic Foundation of Oklahoma will be hosting an estate planning seminar from 8 a.m. to Noon Nov. 28 at the Catholic Pastoral Center. This year’s presenter is Douglas Stanley, partner at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner in St. Louis, Mo. Topics covered will be “Updates on Trust Modifications,” “Non-Judicial Settlement Agreements,” and “Trust Decanting and Donor Advised Funds.” Register at www.cfook.org/estate-planning. Contact (405) 721-4115.

Saint Mary's SCRIP PROGRAM As we approach the

holiday season, we would like to remind you of St. Mary's Scrip Program. Scrip is simply a term that means "substitute money." Scrip fundraising is a no-selling program that allows families to raise money for St. Mary's School by using gift cards, or scrip, to pay for everyday purchases. Gift cards can be ordered for personal use or for gift giving. When families use scrip gift cards instead of cash, checks or credit cards at their favorite retailers, they are fundraising while they shop. Great Lakes Scrip Center offers a huge variety of retailers, including grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations and so much more, so it's easy to make scrip a part of any shopping routine. Just by regularly using scrip for weekly purchases, a single family can easily generate $500 or more annually for St. Mary's. Order forms are available in the school and parish offices. The forms show just a sampling of the available retailers. Please go to https://www.shopwithscrip.com/ for a complete list of retailers. Orders will be placed on Nov 13th and 27th and Dec 4th and 11th. Please look for an insert in next week’s bulletin for more Scrip information. Call Lisa Deming at 382-6011 if you have any questions.

Meet us at 6:30 in the church on Nov.

14th. See you then!

Advent Mission "Prayer During Advent"

Our Parish Advent Mission will be presented by Mr. Jim Beckman, Executive Director of Evangelization and Catechesis for the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. The Mission will be held Monday & Tuesday, December 17th & 18th beginning at 6PM in the Church.

The Knights of Columbus have a few extra pies available for sale. Please contact John Hercyk if you would

like to purchase one of the Knights delicious Apple Pies! The cost of the pie is $12.00.

Reporting abuse/pastoral response hotline The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City through its programs, organizations and events, has numerous daily contacts with many children and young people. It is important all archdiocesan personnel – clergy, seminarians, religious, employees and volunteers – protect the rights of children and be alert to the possibility of child abuse. Under Oklahoma law, all individuals MUST report an incident or suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor (person under age 18) to civil authorities immediately. The Oklahoma Department of Human Services has established a statewide abuse reporting hotline – (800) 522-3511. This number is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you feel a child is in immediate danger of harm call 9-1-1. For the safety of children and the healing of victims, the archdiocese provides an Abuse of Minors Pastoral Response Hotline for reporting the abuse of a minor (in the past or present) by a member of the clergy or other church personnel – (405) 720-9878. The archdiocesan victims’ assistance coordinator, a licensed professional counselor, will respond to calls to the Archdiocesan Pastoral Response Hotline. A report to the archdiocese does not relieve the individual of the duty to report child abuse to civil authorities as required by state law. In Oklahoma, failure to report child abuse is a misdemeanor punishable by law.
