Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord ~ April 1, 2018
Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord April 1, 2018
Christ is risen indeed! We have arrived at the
penultimate feast on the Church's calendar,
the cause of our joy and our hope. Life has
defeated death. Sorrow and suffering do not
have the last say. In the resurrection of Jesus
we see many reasons to rejoice. Not only has
Jesus conquered the specter of visible death,
but He restores to us graced life. On Holy
Saturday, Jesus descended to the dead
and delivered the just souls into heavenly
paradise. What are our own Saturday tombs?
Jesus has the power to open them all. That is
our invitation, this day most of all.
May resurrection joy fill your heart,
your family, your workplace, and community.
Happy Easter!

Alleluia! Alleluia! He is Risen!
Together, we now joyfully celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus in this glorious Easter season. I hope and pray that you and your family have a blessed and Happy Easter. Our 50 day journey of feasting and proclaiming that the tomb was empty and Jesus is Risen from the dead. I welcome our new members, Joshua Cicero, Bethany Fleming and Kasey Shondeck who are one with us and begin their journey as newly initiated Catholic Christians. I want to thank the RCIA team for your ministry.
There are so many people in our partner parishes that lend their talents to making the Easter celebrations superb. Father Medil and I want to thank those involved in preparing the worship spaces in both churches, all of our liturgical ministers, music ministers and our partner parish staffs. Your commitment and willingness to work together for the parish families is appreciated.
I want to welcome all of our visitors and hope that your Easter experience with us is a blessed one. Your presence is important and we pray that you will continue to join us each week to celebrate Easter.
Finally, we have gone over our diocesan goals for the Diocesan Lenten Appeal which is fantastic! I want to thank all of you who have made a gift to the DLA. Now, every dollar that comes in will stay in Kittanning and Yatesboro. If you have not participated in the DLA, I ask you to make a gift now and help us to reach our parish goals.
