——————————————————-—————————————————— WHAT’S HAPPENING IN OUR ATRIA

Weekly sessions resume January 8

Our first session in Christmas begins with a Celebration! We process in song to the atrium’s prayer table which we adorn in the liturgical color of white. We place the baby Jesus in the manger, and rejoice in His coming as we listen to scripture, and offer prayers and songs together. See the January CGS Newsletter on the St. Joseph website for more details.

WE CONTINUE TO WISH ALL A BLESSED CHRISTMAS SEASON!

Curious about CGS? Contact Anne Pulsifer ([email protected]/484-431-5156).

fi

Do your children use personal technology in school? Our 3rd and 4th Grades have iPads for in-school use. Our 5th through 7th Grades have iPads for both in school and home use. In anticipation of their high school experience, our 8th Grade have been introduced to one to one Chrome Books. Our wireless capabilities allow students to employ over 40 educational applications. These

“apps” encompass all content areas! Students receive instant feedback from teachers, maintain and organize class materials, and address the need for differential instruction! As more high schools move in this direction, Holy Family students enter freshmen year ahead of the curve! For more information or to schedule a tour call 610-933-7562 or [email protected]

As Part of our 100th Anniversary Celebration We are pleased to present Guest Speaker Mike Aquilina, the award-winning author of more than 40 books on Catholic history, doctrine & devotion. He will present Saint Joseph: His Angels and His Works on March 10, 2019 at 1:00 pm.

Scripture tells us just a little bit about St. Joseph, but that little bit speaks volumes about the kind of life God blesses. In two talks, Mike Aquilina will examine St. Joseph’s approach to two constants in his every day life and our every day lives: work and angels. Like Jesus himself, we have much to learn from the carpenter of Nazareth.

All are Welcome!

Nunquam Non Paratus Never Not Prepared—Never Not Ready

The above is my family ancestral motto: that of the wild Scotch-Irish Johnston(e) clan. I confess, the youthful me did not live up to this motto. In school I was pretty much prepared in the short-term—OK for Friday tests & quizzes, but not good at long term projects. My stomach still remembers the sick, panicked feeling realizing our history project’s due date had come upon me. Let me tell you—you cannot construct a miniature medieval village on your lunch break!

Never Not Ready—The motto of our Advent / Christmas Saints?

I have often wondered, how was Mary so ready to say Yes to the angel, to respond so quickly; and how did Joseph realize his dreams were messages from God, ready to act upon them immediately? And, how did the Magi recognize that what they saw was a Divine Calling and that they were ready to go to a far off country and follow a Star? Even remembering to pack gifts! I would imagine that long before the Angel, and the Dreams, and the Star, our Christmas saints opened themselves up to God’s preparation of their minds and hearts. Mary’s response was—I am the Handmaid of the Lord. Joseph was a righteous man. Mary, Joseph, and the Magi had daily pondered and prayed and Wondered. In a deep and powerful way each of them had been Readied for the Angel, the Dreams, the Star. They were ready to act—Because:

Before the BIG events, they were aware - attentive - to all the small ones. This Year — Let us not miss the everyday angels and dreams and stars that God sends us—Morning, Noon,

Night—Let us Never Not Be Ready—for the gift of His Preparation and Presence —the Whispered Sound of His Divine Call to us All.

~ S. Mary Ann
