Dear Parishioners,
As we begin a new school year, please pray for students, teachers, and all who are involved with the education of God’s people:
Prayer for Teachers:
Lord God,
your spirit of wisdom fills the earth and teaches us your ways. Look kindly upon our teachers. Let them share their knowledge
with gentle patience and endeavor always to bring the truth to eager minds. Grant that they may follow Jesus Christ, the way,
the truth, and the life, forever and ever.
R/. Amen.
Prayer for Students:
Lord our God,
in your wisdom and love you surround us with the mysteries of the universe. Send your Spirit upon our students and fill them
with your wisdom and blessings. Grant that they may devote themselves to their studies and draw ever closer to you, the
source of all knowledge. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
R/. Amen.
What city was Peter from (Jn 1:44), and where did he live at the time he was called by Jesus (Lk 4:31, 38)?
In what chapter of the Bible did Jesus proclaim Peter as the rock of His church?
To learn more about Peter and Jesus, join us at Wednesday night Bible study!
Have a wonderful week!

Saint Joseph’s Catholic School 145 Years of Excellence in Education
On Monday, August 7, St. Joseph’s Catholic School kicks off an exciting and
momentous new school year as we celebrate our 145th year of educating
the children of Middle GA. Recognized as the first unit of the public school
in Macon, two Sisters of Mercy taught students of all faiths in the basement
of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Since 1872, SJS has been educating,
nurturing, and encouraging the mind, body, and spirit of every child. We
are proud of our long tradition of providing a strong academic foundation
with Catholic values in a safe, nurturing and loving environment. For more

sponsoring agency, as well as the faculty and staff at MDS, and
all the current host families serving in this capacity. The
benefits are many, but an added perk is the monthly stipend
you receive for hosting. Please call Ashley Griffin, at MDS,
