ADVENT REFLECTION A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return (Luke 19:12). This nobleman is Christ, the Son of God, King of all nations. His kingdom is over all men and over all things, both material and spiritual. He has everything in His hand as God and man. But another, Satan, has bro-ken into His kingdom and has made himself master of many of Christ's subjects. In the old dispensation only a small part of humanity, the chosen people, remained faithful to the almighty King. Christ, the Son of God, came into this "far country" in order to become man and, by means of humility, obedience, and poverty, to cast out the usurper who had taken His subjects. He came to reassert His dominion over all those who had left Him, both Jews and Gentiles. This year Advent is very short, Sunday being the only day in the fourth week. In the

General Roman Calendar, today is the last day of Advent, Christmas Eve, and also (beginning with the vigil Mass) is the first day of Christmas time. The liturgical texts express wholehearted confidence in the imminent coming of the Redeemer. There is much joyous expectation. Most families have their own observances and customs that should be preserved from generation to generation.

Stewardship Note: Faith is a gift from God. Take time in silence and thank Him for all the gifts He has given you. Try to set aside any anger or resent-ment you have and really open your heart to receive the gift of God’s mercy and forgiveness. We can’t give what we don’t have. We need to receive God’s mercy and forgiveness first before we can give it to others.

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS Every year a Christmas celebration presents us with the profound mystery which changed history. Jesus’ birth links together heaven and earth and even changed the world calendar Before Christ and After Christ because, with Him, be-gins a new epoch of humanity. We stand before the Baby Jesus in Bethlehem in total awe, amazement, and wonder be-cause His life affects each one of us so deeply that we cannot remain indifferent. All the decorations, Christmas carols, and music serve to amplify the enormous truth that God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. On this most sacred and profound day, together with Father Gregory Chodkowski and Father Charles Borowski we wish you a joyful and blessed Christmas. May the singing of the angels Glory to God in the Highest and Peace to People of Good Will ring in your minds and hearts on your journey of life. Merry Christmas to all of you!

DISPLAY MONITOR INSTALLATIONS I would like to announce that we have installed two display monitors on our Church columns to facilitate liturgical celebra-tions. It is our intent to assist our parishioners with the readings and songs during the divine worship. We plan to install two additional units in the middle of the Basilica if there is a need. I am very grateful to Father Gregory and Peter Kiciliński for their technical expertise with the monitor installations. We look forward to our parishioners benefitting from this technology. Our weekly bulletin is available online and can be sent to your inbox each week. Please sign up at www.pilotbulletins.net/sign-up. We are grateful to Joey Boudreau for his expertise and time spent on this project. Please feel free to visit the webpage and provide us with your feedback.

WESOŁYCH ŚWIĄT

I SZCZĘŚLIWEGO NOWEGO ROKU! - Ks.

Ap 3, 20). Otwórzmy Mu nasze serca i zaprośmy do naszego życia, aby przemieniał nas od środka swoją obecnością.

CZWARTA NIEDZIELA ADWENTU 24 GRUDNIA, 2017

„Bądź pozdrowiona, pełna łaski, Pan z Tobą.” (Łk 1, 28)

CHRISTMAS COLLETION FOR ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL On Christmas Day our Second Collection will be for St. Joseph School and we ask for your generosity. Keeping up with the latest educational technology and services as well as assisting our teachers in their professional development is very costly. In this season of sharing and giving, we kindly ask parishioners, alumni, and visiting guests to open your hearts to help educate the next generation of leaders from St. Joseph School. Children learn, acquire habits, and develop their faith through a variety of programs and extra-curricular activities here at St. Joseph School. Please help us as we continue our quest of educational excellence.

Thank you for your generosity and God Bless You!

Flocknotes - A Smarter Way to Communicate! We would like to share with you that as a part of the diocesan initiative we will be implementing a new way to reach our pa-rishioners by text message and e-mail in order to build a more connected church and to give our parishioners an opportunity to get involved in different organizations and ministries. We ask all Chairpeople, or a delegated member from each parish organization or min-istry, to contact Ewa Mamro to discuss training at (508) 943-0467 ext. 120. Ewa will explain why communicating with Flocknotes is easier and better than by regular email. You may unsubscribe at any time! This is for communication purposes only. Joining a mailing list of a particular group does not constitute your membership in that group. Parents may join the list of their children groups. For example, if you would like to receive weekly bulletins by e-mail, join the “Weekly Bulletin” list. If you can help with snow plowing, lawn mowing, or other handyman work around the church, join the “Maintenance Crew” and Fr. Gregory will keep you posted. We can setup any group for any common purpose. Then you can send notes by e-mail or text message. No matter how your message is

sent, Flocknote captures all of the replies in one place! Join in one of two ways:

1. Text the letters 0467 to number 84576 or 2. Go to: flocknote.com/stjosephwebster and follow instructions.

Below are the Groups / Newsletters that are set up so far. Pick as many or as few as you want.
