Take the Alpha journey with us! Saint John of the Cross Parish will embark on a great adventure this fall.

Alpha is a non-denominational, 11-week course that explores the basics of the Christian faith. Each weekly format is the same, but the content is different. There’s FOOD: a different meal each week; TALKS: a video presentation on the week’s topic; and DISCUSSION: a chance to ask questions about life and faith, and talk through issues in small groups.

Where: St. John of the Cross Parish Community Center 140 Richmond Rd., Euclid OH 44143

When: Tuesdays, starting Sept. 12 at 6:30 pm for 11 weeks

Parish News & Events

Our Mission We are the Catholic Community of St. John of the Cross, established in 2009. Uniting the people of God as one family, we are rooted in, and

empowered by, our sacramental life and Eucharistic celebrations. Living as disciples of Jesus Christ, we

recognize our God given potential and challenge one another to share our giftedness, embrace our diversity, and engage in social outreach, service and education. In doing so, we seek to extend the reign of God in Euclid and the wider community.

Questioning your faith? Need help with an issue in your life?

Talk to the pastor. Set up appointment by calling (216) 289-0770 or emailing to [email protected].

Caring Cooks Ministry Are you or someone in your family experiencing an illness, recovering from surgery or another emergency? The “Caring Cooks” can help. If interested in joining this ministry to help your fellow parishioners during their difficult time, please contact JoAnn Volk at (216) 383-6525.

Prayer Shawl Ministry The Prayer Shawl Ministry combines the love of knitting and crocheting with compassion for those in need of comfort and healing. Contributions for yarn are also greatly appreciated. If you would like to request a prayer shawl for a member of your family or for a friend, please call the Parish Office at (216) 289-0770.

A Testimonial: More Than A Rummage Sale

Never have I been involved in such a group as the Second Blessings Ministry at SJOC. I mean never. This is a group of unbelievable people who are friendly, loving, caring, kind, and most of all, hard working. Dear Lord are they hard working! I unexpectedly lost my job back in January and I needed something to fill my time while I licked my wounds. As I thought and prayed about what I would do next, I saw the article in our bulletin regarding our rummage sale. I decided to give Carla Colo a call. The rest, as they say, is history. What fun! It is a lot of work, but it is so much fun. This is a well-organized, respectful, clean and classy rummage sale. This is not your neighbor's garage sale! Trust me. The variety of donations is incredible and at times overwhelming. SJOC is a very generous parish. Please come and see for yourselves. This Ministry is LOVE disguised as a Rummage Sale. Although the name is Second Blessings, for me it was a First Blessing. It has helped me to move on. What a fabulous way to begin to venture down a new path. It is a privilege to be a part of it.
