This Program can also be a refresher for those who would like to get better acquainted with their Catholic Faith.

We will help you understand the basic concepts of the Catholic Faith and, if you wish, help facilitate your return to any parish. You will not be pressured or in any way obligated. This Program is to use as you wish. If you—or someone you know—might like to attend, our contact information is given below:

Thursdays, February 15th through March 22nd, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Door Is Open! An RSVP is appreciated but not required.

Latin Mass The Latin Mass that was scheduled for Sunday, January 28th, has been cancelled. The next Latin Mass, celebrated by Fr. Szymakowski, will be at the St. Francis Historic Church on Sunday, February 11th, at 1 p.m. Confessions will be heard by appointment. Call (541) 388-4004.

Palms for Ashes Please bring your old palms from now until February 4th, and place them in the designated containers for burning in preparation for Ash Wednesday, which falls on February 14th this year.

The containers will be located in the narthex of both the Historic Church and the 27th Street Church.

—Thank you, Deacon Stephen McGlone

Parish Lenten Mission Fr. Greg Schmidt, CSsR, a Redemptorist Priest, will lead a Lenten Parish Mission Sunday, March 11th, through Wednesday, March 14th, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., followed by a social hour. The theme of the Mission: “Conversion.”

Mark your calendars now for this important spiritual journey.

New Endow Study St. Francis’ Endow (Educating on the Nature and Dignity of Women) Ministry announces a new study just in time for Lent—“On the Christian Meaning of Suffering.” Come along on a journey through John Paul II’s 1984 letter that tackles the question of how to make sense of suffering. His message is tinged with joy, hope, and leaves one with a peaceful sense of being cared for even in the most trying circumstances. All women are welcome to join us for 8–12 weeks, beginning Thursday, February 15th, from 1 to 3 p.m., in Seminar Room #2.

To register go to https://store.endowonline.org/kristine-mclean-p4082.aspx. For more information, contact Kristine McLean at (541) 408-0905 / [email protected].

Stewardship of Time and Talent When we think of Stewardship, we typically think in terms of giving money, but we are also called to be good stewards of our time and talent. An easy way to give of your time and talent is to serve as a liturgical minister at Mass. The parish needs people in a

variety of ministerial roles, especially at the 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Sunday Masses.

♦ Sacristans: Set up and clean the vessels and other items needed for Mass and assist in keeping the sacristy organized.

♦ Lectors: Proclaim one of the readings at Mass.

♦ Extraordinary Ministers: Assist in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at Communion.

♦ Acolytes: Assist the priest and deacon at Mass and other liturgical functions. Open to Catholic men who have been confirmed and age 18+.

♦ Altar Servers: Assist at Mass and open to all youth who have received First Communion.

Talk to any liturgical minister, and you will find out that this service adds immensely to your appreciation of the Mass, deepens your relationship with Jesus, and is a good way to meet people.

VOLUNTEER NOW! Please contact Deacon Steve at [email protected] or call the Parish Office at (541) 382-3631, ext. 106.

A Roman Catholic Funeral Do you have a favorite Scripture Reading or Song? As mentioned in our Parish Bulletin last weekend, I will be doing a Presentation on What Is Needed/Required for a Roman Catholic Funeral on Tuesday, February 6th, at 6:30 p.m., in the St. Clare Chapel; how you and your family can be involved, and what I do as Volunteer Funeral Coordinator to help you with that. There are still seats available. Please RSVP to Jan Michelsen at (541) 639-9990.

Fr. Jose’s Anniversary of Ordination is this Sunday, January 28th. Congratulations, Father Jose!

And it happens to be Fr. Victor’s birthday on

Thursday, February 1st.

Feliz cumpleaños,

Communion of Reparation Vigil The First Friday/First Saturday Vigil, February 2nd/3rd will begin at 8 p.m., with the Rosary, Holy Hours of Adoration, and Scriptural Meditations at the Historic Church. The vigil will conclude Saturday morning with Benediction and Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 8 a.m.

Please consider spending an hour of adoration offered in atonement for sins grievously offending the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Annulments The Church shares the burden and sorrow of marriages that end in divorce. But she seeks to help her children heal from these experiences. For many people, the annulment process is a healing moment in addition to possibly giving them the ability to marry in the Church.

Would you like to be married in the Church but are unable to because you, or your spouse, were married before? Contact Deacon Steve and Mary McGlone to learn more about annulments and how the process can help you. They can be reached at the Parish Office at (541) 382-3631, ext. 106, or you may send an email to: [email protected].
