Prayer to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Heavenly beauty and
splendor of the Father, You are the most valued
Heavenly treasure.
New Eve, immaculate in soul, spirit and body, Creat-
ed of the godly seed by the Spirit of God, You are the
spiritual Mother of mankind.
Pure Virgin, full of grace then and now, Your whole
being was raised Heavenly in full glory, To be
elevated above all the hosts within the Kingdom of
God.
O Heavenly Mother, Queen of Heaven and earth, I
recognize the glory of your highest title, The
Immaculate Heart of Mary!
Loving Mother, dispenser of endless blessings, You
who continuously intercedes on our behalf, Please
present my need before your loving Son Jesus.
(In your own words, make your special request here.
Do not just mention a word. Speak to the Immaculate
Heart of Mary as you would speak to another person,
begging your Heavenly Mother to plea to Jesus on
your behalf, that you be granted this special request.)
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, I know that you are
now presenting my need before Jesus, For you have
never turned away those in dire need.
Mother dearest, I await your favorable answer,
Submitting myself to the Divine will of the Lord, For
all glories are His forever and ever.

©2013 Liturgical Publications Inc

Who was Jean Marie Baptiste Vianney?
Saint John Vianney was born on May 8, 1786 in the village of Dardilly in
France. After serving a time in the army during the Napoleonic period he
entered seminary formation to become a priest. He had a very difficult time.
He struggled mightily with all of his studies and he had a particularly difficult
time with Latin. Many, including his formation directors and instructors in the
seminary and his own bishop, had very serious doubts that this man who did
not have strong intellectual gifts, would be suitable for the priesthood.
However, John Vianney persevered and finally was ordained a priest in 1815.
His bishop, acting on his estimation of this new priest as a man of few gifts,
sent him to the remotest backwater village of his diocese, the village of Ars.
There Fr. John Vianney spent the rest of his life except for one brief period
when he tried to flee the duties and pressures of parish life and to find a
quiet place where he could pray in peace and solitude. That was not in God's
plan for him and he soon returned to Ars.
He was a man of great dedication to his call to be a priest and to serve his
people. He preached in a very simple manner, had a great love of the
Blessed Sacrament and the Blessed Mother and he had a special devotion to St. Philomena. Through his work as a
confessor he brought about a spiritual renewal that touched not only the people of his parish but all of France. He regularly
spent 14 to 18 hours a day in the confessional surviving on only a few hours of sleep and a diet of boiled potatoes. As the
word spread of his extraordinary abilities as a confessor, thousands, including bishops and aristocracy, made the journey to
Ars in order to receive his spiritual counsel. Thus a man who started his life as one who very few thought would ever
amount to anything became, by the time of his death in 1859, the vehicle for thousands of conversions. He is, for us today,
an example of how God works wonderfully through those who dedicate their lives to him and who seek to do his will. John
Vianney, a humble parish priest, is regarded by the Church as one of its great figures simply because he was faithful.
John Vianney was canonized by Pope Pius XI in 1925. He is the only diocesan priest ever to be canonized. He is the patron
saint of clergy throughout the world. His feast day is August 4.
I love You, O my God, and my only desire is to love You until the last breath of my life.
I love You, O my infinitely lovable God, and I would rather die loving You, than live without loving You.
I love You, Lord and the only grace I ask is to love You eternally...
My God, if my tongue cannot say in every moment that I love You,
I want my heart to repeat it to You as often as I draw breath. –Prayer of St. John Vianney

Saint Philomena - Virgin and Martyr The figure of Philomena, young roman martyr,
emerged after nearly seventeen centuries of silence.
Since the finding of her body the extraordinary presence of
St. Philomena in the Church began.
Since then every Pope has venerated her with
his personal devotion and millions of Catholics have felt
her beneficial influence. She has been a model of spiritual
life for many Saints, Blessed and Venerable.
Great devotion toward St. Philomena has spread all over
the world and Pontiffs have granted the Saint the
"Liturgical Cult" with Mass and its own Office.
St. Philomena's mortal remains were discovered in 1802 in
Rome in a catacomb belonging to Priscilla. There are no
biographic records of St. Philomena. Therefore, the first
records about the Saint are the ones that start with the
finding of her tomb in Priscilla's catacombs,
to the translation of her body to Mugnano del Cardinale,
the beginning of her providential influence in Church life.
On the three stones that sealed the tomb, were the inscrip-
tions:
"LUMENA - PAX TE - CUM FI"
and the following symbols:
two anchors
three arrows
a palm
a lily
