[ 2 ] SAINT CLARE of ASSISI PARISH
We con nue to pray for all of you during this challenging me as the Covid-19
pandemic con nues to test our resolves. However, nothing can stop us from
remembering all the women and men who paid the ul mate price, by sacrificing their
lives, to make us safe and enjoy our freedoms today. "No one has greater love than to
lay down one's life for another" is one of the many scripture passages they put into
prac ce. Although we can't celebrate mass at St. Joseph's cemetery this year, we can
keep contact with them through prayers and, if permissible, by visi ng and decora ng
their graves.
Adap ng to the situa ons of our mes, brought about by the pandemic, our Solemnity of Ascension, that we
have constantly and devotedly celebrated on Thursday, is moved to the 7th Sunday of Easter for this year. In
it Jesus gives a solemn promise of the Holy Spirit who will help us wade through the raging waters of our
present-day reali es, while seeking new answers to new ques ons posed and also remembering the basic
teachings the Lord entrusted to us through our ancestors in faith.
Life may not be the same or the way we want it to be. Never be frustrated. Jesus promises to be with us ll
the end of mes. He is present in the Eucharist and other sacraments, in the Word of God (Scriptures), in our
sisters and brothers and the ministers who serve us in our communi es. We remain the beloved of God in
spite our human limita ons. Let's cast off the powers of darkness of sin and usher in the life in Spirit.
May all we say, do and are give glory and honor to God. Be safe.

protegernos y disfrutar nuestras libertades hoy.
Padre Grace

WEEKATAGLANCE
USCCB Priority Resources as Regards to COVID-19
Through the good leadership of our shepherds, the Church is experiencing the remarkable grace of spiritual closeness from a distance. To the extent you may find it helpful, the Conference has been collecting examples of how our community of faith has sought to remain with one another in prayer during these difficult times. You may find the list here: http://www.usccb.org/coronavirus In the days ahead, we will update this page as we find and you share additional resources. USCCB Public Affairs and Episcopal Resources teams are partnering also with the Office of Divine Worship, the Office of Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth, and other Conference colleagues to develop new resources to help the faithful in our home prayer. These are being prepared for Catholic Current. Those resources are here: https://catholiccurrent.org/covid19/

Stewards Cornerstones May 10, 2020
5th Sunday of Easter
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.”
1 PETER 2:7
Every person has been given gi s from the Holy Spirit. These are called
“charisms” and they are used to build God’s kingdom on earth. While many people are able to recognize their nat-ural talents and abili es, they may
be unsure of their
charisms as Chris an Stewards. If you know someone who is struggling for a direc on in life, give them a li le en-
couragement. Help them discern their charisms and how God is calling them
to use them.
Remember - no gi is too small or Insignificant in God’s salva on plan.
