Welcome to Saint Catherine of Siena Parish If you wish to join our Parish family, please stop by the parish office during the week to fill out a white registration card and
stewardship volunteer form. If you have any questions, please call Clista in the office at 425-0595. Welcome!
Parish Mission Statement: We are a Catholic community of imperfect people growing in faith, caring for each other and reaching out to our neighbors in need.
Today we celebrate the feast of Christ the King. Throughout the Bible, we are given many other images of Jesus: the Good Shepherd, the Son of God, the miracle man, the carpenter's son, etc. Most of these images depict Jesus as humble and peaceful. But Christ the King is different. He a mighty king, robed in splendor and he has received everlasting dominion and glory. It easy to get caught up in how AWESOME our king is, but He is still humble and peaceful at heart. He is a king who serves His people, and He wants the same from us. Jesus dwells within us, and His kingship is fulfilled when we serve one another. Serving Jesus as our king means loving Him with all our being, obeying His commandments, and caring for the least of His people. As we commit ourselves to a new year of the stewardship way of life, remember that we can best live out our discipleship by recognizing Christ the King in one another, serving each other the way He would have us do so.

The Prayer Before Mass
Come Holy Spirit, quiet my heart and my head, as I gather with my family, friends and neighbors to celebrate Mass.
Quiet the thoughts and distractions that will keep me from worship.
Open my mouth in prayer and song.
Open my ears to hear God’s Word.
Open my eyes to the mystery of the Eucharist.
Open my heart to receive Jesus with love.
May I go forth strengthened to take the Mass into my life this week. Amen.
Expecting a new baby? You are invited to receive a special pre-natal blessing from Father Dan. A white rose dedicated to you will be placed by the statue of Mary as a symbol that the entire parish is praying for you and your baby. The blessings are normally given at 6pm on the first Monday of every month. Following the blessing there is a Baptismal Preparation Class to help you prepare for this important day in your child’s life. Call the Parish Office to register.

STANDOUT STEWARD! Stewardship starts at a very young age! Check out this week’s STAND OUT STEWARDS! Jameson Reichenberger and Landon, Katelyn, and Colin Timmermeyer are familiar faces around the church and school and are always willing to help when needed! They have incredible examples of the stewardship way of life at home and that shows! Thank you Timmermeyer and Reichenberger families for sharing your children with us!
Our new Pictorial Directories are in! You may pick them up in the church vestibule after all masses. They will be in the gymnasium on the tables in alphabetical order. If you participated and had your picture taken, or submitted a picture, there is a directory reserved for you. For those who did not get a picture taken, there will be another opportunity the middle of next year. We will take pictures over a brief period and a updated directory will be available in the fall. Thanks for all who participated and we look forward to a more complete directory next year!

Put This on Your Calendar ….
If you stepped outside due to a fussy child during the Liturgy of the Word, you might walk away with one of two interpretations of Jesus as King. The first and second readings are bold and victorious. We see Christ coming on the clouds for the final judgment of heaven and earth. In the Gospel, Jesus is under
arrest and facing death before Pontius Pilate. We know how this story will end. So if Christ is King, what does it mean? Is He a glorious conqueror or a suffering servant? "My kingdom does not belong to this world." Here is the heart of Jesus' reign. He is a king -- and His
"subjects" are alive and well on earth -- but, ultimately, Jesus' kingdom transcends our earthly concepts of power. Jesus faced down the temptation of a solely earthly kingship. At the close of his 40 days in the desert, the devil offered Him the kingdoms of the world. Jesus only had to sacrifice his heavenly values and worship Satan. The same temptations to distort the kingship of Christ are present to us today. Jesus' invitation also endures. "Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice." It is important for us to belong to the full truth of Christ's kingdom. First, our own hearts must be transformed. Our own rebellions in favor of selfishness and against holiness must be conquered by God's grace. Second, we must work to transform the world as best we can in our own corner of it. Like Jesus shows us by His life and death, this doesn't mean domination. It means service, sacrifice, respect, and love. Our lives must "testify to the truth" of Jesus Christ, who lays down His life for His people. That is the true beauty of Christ the King!
