FLU SEASON PRECAUTIONS: Because of the widespread cases of the flu, we will refrain from offering Communion from the Cup during the flu season. Also, when offering the sign of peace please respect those parishioners who choose not to shake hands.
ATTENTION MARRIED COUPLES: St. Catherine’s Church, 3252 Post Rd., Warwick, will be the host parish for “to Love and to Cherish”, a series offered by the Office of Life and Family. This is a five-part series that provides a peaceful group environment for sharing a variety of topics and discussions that
are educational and helpful for the sacramental journey of marriage. The series will be held on Wednesdays from February 25th - March 25th from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. Please use the upper back entrance to the church. For more information please contact, Peter Magnotta at the Office of Life and Family Ministry at 421-7833 ext. 217. This program is NOT for marriage counseling.
PARISH COUNCIL MEETING: The Parish Council will meet on Thursday, February 19th at 7:00pm in classroom 1B. All are welcome to attend.
ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY DINNER
will be held on SATURDAY, MARCH 14th. More information to follow.
Due to the snowstorm, the budget figures for last weekend will be published in next weekend’s bulletin.
L.I.G.H.T. NEWS: The L.I.G.H.T. Gatherings for February will be held on Tuesday, February 24th, at 5:30pm and Friday, February 27th, at 6:00pm. We will focus on the meaning of Lent and our journey through this part of the Church year. L.I.G.H.T. (Living in Grace and Hope Together) is our
intergenerational faith formation program. All are welcome to attend, including adults without children. For more information and to register, please contact Kelly Francoeur, Director of Faith Formation, at [email protected].

A leper came to Jesus and kneeling
down begged him and said, "If you
wish, you can make me clean." Moved
with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched him, and said to him, "I do
will it. Be made clean."
- Mk 1:40-41
Dear Parishioners,
I would like to alert you all to a presentation entitled “Pastoral Planning
Today: It’s Challenges and it’s Opportunities”. It will be presented by Mr. Mark
Mogilka, the Director of Stewardship and Pastoral Services of the Archdiocese of Green Bay. It will be held in the basement hall of SS. Peter & Paul Cathedral in
Providence on Monday, February 23 from 7:00-8:30 pm.
Our Diocese is offering the opportunity to begin to deal with a very real
challenge that we will be facing in the next few years. Over the next eight years
there are 21 projected ordinations to the priesthood. This is a great blessing however over the same period there will be 63 priests eligible to retire, (including
me). Clearly 21 priests will not be able to do what 63 are currently doing, some of
whom are already covering two parishes. The leadership of the Diocese realizes
that we need to think of new ways for priests and parishioners to collaborate and to
think differently about how parishes can work together with other parishes. The
biggest challenge is to look toward the future with enthusiasm and hope and not be overcome by discouragement. These newly ordained priests will need our support.
The challenge is to think of new ways to be parish and be Church.
I would encourage any parishioners in any leadership capacity in the parish
and any others who may be interested in the topic to attend.
Father Plante
ASH WEDNESDAY is February 18th.
The MASS SCHEDULE is as follows:
ST. CATHERINE’S: 9:00am and 6:00pm
ST. FRANCIS: 8:00am and 12:00noon
ASH WEDNESDAY IS A DAY OF FAST AND OF ABSTINENCE FROM MEAT
Father, help me to see this holy
season of Lent as a time of
spiritual renewal, rather than
a time of deprivation. Motivate
me to reach a new level of
experiencing your grace.
