Scripture Readings
August 30, 2020 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time
First Reading: Jeremiah 20:7-9 In this particularly poetic passage, Jeremiah complains that while teaching the Lord’s word, he is subjected to insults and derision. He determines to remain silent, but he cannot because the desire to speak the Lord’s name is “like a fire burning in my heart.”
Second Reading: Romans 12:1-2 Paul tells the Christians to make sacrifices to avoid the trappings of the times, and to do God’s will.
Gospel: Matthew 16:21-27 Jesus tries to make his disciples realize that by following him, they will endure suffering, degradation, and death. He tells them that they must deny themselves and take up the cross in order to be his disciples.

Up and coming for Grades 1-6: We will be implementing a new curriculum from Sadlier, Christ In Us, that enables us to have an online option. Christ In Us will link the religious education formation to the parish community. Throughout the program, participants accompany one another along their faith journey and live out their lives as missionary disciples in the world. Christ In Us has a robust digital portal with resources for families, virtual webinars, and activities to engage the families. It will be based off the Sunday Gospel reading, bringing catholic faith formation directly into the home.
Information will be emailed home shortly about how to link into Christ In Us for Grades 1-6. Families will receive an email that will generate a link, with a username and password. Please be patient with us as we navigate this new online process.
Grades 7 and 8 will receive information shortly on how to access their curriculum
Grade 9-10 will receive information shortly regarding their program.
Prayers are with you as we begin this new year with new guidelines and uncertainties.
