We encourage all to watch the brief 2019 ACA Video online at: CFBQ.org/ACAVideo.

From the Desk of the Administrator My dear parishioners, Since last Wednesday (Ash Wednesday), we have begun the season of Lent. This is an intense spiritual season for all of us Catholics and other Christians. It is truly a moment of grace, of which we should take advantage for our own growth in faith and holiness. The three pillars of Lent are Prayer, Fast-ing, and Almsgiving, as we were reminded by the Gospel on Ash Wednesday. Prayer helps us to enter into communion with God and it strengthens our relationship with the Most Holy Trinity. But prayer helps us also to resist the devil and all his temptations. Among the spiritual weapons that St. Paul mentions in his letter to the Ephesians, he also mentions prayer. He says, “With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones” (Eph. 6:18). During this season of Lent, we intensify our prayer life. Invite some-one who has been away from the Church to come back and celebrate with us at the table of the Eucharist, which is prayer par excellence; Take time to join us for the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Thursday evening from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM; come and join us for the meditation and prayer on the Passion of the Lord with the Stations of the Cross every Friday after the 9:00 AM Mass or in the evening at 7:00 PM; pray the rosary daily. If Jesus, the Son of God, was tempted, so are we. But with the power of prayer, we will overcome the devil and his deadly snares. As for Fasting, many people are asking the question, what to give up? It should be a sacrifice that helps you to get closer to God. And whatever you save by giving up something, should help the poor. That’s what we call Almsgiving. Pope Francis said, when you give to the poor or the beggar on the street, do not ask what they will do with the money or how they will use it. Just give from the goodness of your heart. Let us all embark in this journey of penance, sacrifice, and repentance. God bless you always. Fr. Raphael

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY Please do not forget the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry of our parish. Please bring some non-perishable food whenever you come to church. The pantry is in dire need of food. A special thank you to all who have donated food and their time - we count on your continued support.

ADVERTISEMENT OPPORTUNITY Do you own a business? Would you like to make your busi-ness known to the community? There is an advertisement opportunity in the parish bulletin. Please call the rectory for more details.

SPONSORSHIP OF BREAD & WINE AND FLOWERS We are encouraging interested parishioners to sponsor bread and wine for Mass, and flowers to decorate the Altars. Please contact the rectory for more details. Bread and wine for the month of March have been donated by Marie France Leazard. We thank everyone for their generosity.

SCHOOL BUILDING As you know, the school building has been vacated for more than 10 years now and it is in bad shape. The good news is that we have found a group that is willing to lease the build-ing and open a charter school. Things have moved quickly than expected. As a consequence, no activity is allowed in the school after May 31, 2019 for renovation purposes.
