Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Today, right in the midst of Advent,
we receive an invitation to joy and hope: «Rejoice always. Pray without
ceasing. In all circumstances give thanks» (1Thess 5:16-18). The Lord
is near: «My daughter, know your
heart is Heaven for Me», Jesus said to St. Faustina Kowalska (and, cer-
tainly, the Lord would like to extend it to each one of his children). It is a
good time to think of everything He has done for us and thank Him for it.
Joy is an essential characteristic of the life of Faith. To feel loved and
saved by God is a great elation; to feel conscious we are brothers of
Jesus Christ, who gave his life for us,
is the basic motivation of our Chris-tian joy. A Christian who surrenders
to grief and sadness will have noth-ing but a bleak and desolated spiri-
tual life, he will not be able to see
what God has done for him and, therefore, he will not be able to
transmit it to others. Christian happi-ness stems from thanksgiving, basi-
cally because of the Love our Lord radiates over us; every Sunday,
through the Eucharist, we do so in
communion with Christ.
Thank you to all who helped with the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe a
great success. Our Bishop James
Johnston was well pleased, to blessed, talked and to greet many of
the people of our community. Saint Anthony is always a place where we
gather to celebrate our faith and to build up the kingdom of God here on
earth.

The sacrament of reconciliation is
important for each of us as we pre-
pare for the birth of Our Lord at
Christmas. The time of Advent is a
time of preparation, and what better
way to prepare than cleaning our
soul. There will be several Priests
hearing confessions.

Queridos Hermanos y Hermanas:
Hoy, justo en mitad del Adviento,
recibimos una invitación a la alegría y la esperanza: «Regocíjate siempre.
Orar sin cesar. Dad gracias en todas
las circunstancias, "(1Tes 5: 16-18). El Señor está cerca: «Hija mía, sé
que tu corazón es el Cielo para mí», le dijo Jesús a Santa Faustina Ko-
walska (y, ciertamente, el Señor des-
ea extenderlo a cada uno de sus hijos). Es un buen momento para
pensar en todo lo que ha hecho por nosotros y agradecerle por ello.
La alegría es una característica esen-cial de la vida de la fe. Sentirse ama-
do y salvado por Dios es una gran euforia; Sentirnos conscientes de que
somos hermanos de Jesucristo, que dio su vida por nosotros, es la moti-
vación básica de nuestro gozo cristia-
no. Un cristiano que se rinde al dolor y la tristeza no tendrá más que una
vida espiritual sombría y desolada, no podrá ver lo que Dios ha hecho por él
y, por lo tanto, no podrá transmitirlo
a los demás. La felicidad cristiana proviene de la acción de gracias,
básicamente por el Amor que nuestro Señor irradia sobre nosotros; cada
domingo, a través de la Eucaristía, lo hacemos en comunión con Cristo.
Gracias a todos los que ayudaron con la Fiesta de Nuestra Señora de Gua-
dalupe a que fuera una gran celebra-ción. Nuestro Obispo Santiago Johns-
ton estuvo muy complacido de ben-
decir, hablar y saludar a muchas per-sonas de nuestra comunidad. San
Antonio es siempre un lugar donde nos reunimos para celebrar nuestra
fe y edificar el reino de Dios aquí en
la tierra.

La confesión debe ser un sacra-
mento muy importante para cada
uno de nosotros mientras nos pre-
paramos para el nacimiento de
Nuestro Señor en la Navidad. El
tiempo de Adviento es un tiempo
de preparación, y qué mejor mane-
ra de prepararnos que limpiando
nuestra alma. Habrá varios sacer-
dotes escuchando confesiones ese
día.
NOCHE BUENAS
Este es el último fin de
semana que la sociedad del Altar & Rosario estarán tomando ordenes
para todas las personas que quieran ordenar alguna noche buena en nom-
bre de algún ser querido y a la vez
ayudar a adornar nuestra parroquia para esta Navidad. El costo de la
planta es de $10.00 cada una.
