SAHAYASAHAYA is an organization

of youth people working amongst underprivileged kids, to provide them with

quality education, so that one day it shall empower them to stand on their own feet. We

strive to prepare them to face life better by improving their English communication skills, computer skills, life skills and

their overall personality.

As the youth of today, we are an empowered generation who are well aware of our democratic rights and our invaluable rights to freedom of speech. But in this fast paced life that we lead, we stand the risk of being self centered and hypocritical about the real issues that are of concern to our immediate community, our country and world at large.

Around 100 volunteers working on 7 schools

At this moment we have 70 trained volunteers working for SAHAYA by weekly classes of 2 hours duration are conducted

at each of above schools.

Helping the less privileged Children would take up all our time.

False. For a volunteer at Sahaya, all it takes is 2

hours a week.

Volunteer work enhances one's personality in very profound ways. Leadership skills, Communication skills, People skills, Selflessness, Patience and Humility are some of the many virtues one can develop through volunteer work. Moreover, there are skills that shape our character in ways that are most appreciable and desirable by the corporate sector and society at large.

Volunteer work involves 100% commitment.

True.

Our volunteers are mostly youngsters in their late teens and college students, who are enthusiastic, dedicated and have the right blend f emotions maturity that make a difference looks for. Volunteers at Sahaya are individuals who don't just talk about making a change; they participate wholeheartedly and take serious actions to initiate a change and make a difference.

In order to increase the children's exposure to the English language and also to encourage reading, Sahaya is taking up library projects in centers where we teach.
