The oldest name for ancient city of Ghazni according to Ptolemy is (Gazang) which means treasure or and in some place it’s also called no moving water and this area was located between Kabul-istan and Zabul-istan.It’s mentioned in Sistan History that “This area was the place where a special plant was growing called (Gaz).During the era of Rostam and Esfandiar the name was turned to Gaznain and after that the city became popular as Ghazni and later called Ghaznain and finally transformed as Ghazni”.Ghazni or Ghaznain is one of the ancient cities of Afghanistan that has a long history, Based on the gathering in 2007 by science and cultural organization officials in Trables, this city was named as the cultural capital of Islamic civilization and in the year 2013 the name will be officially opened.As per the findings in the history, Ghazni was the capital of Zabul-istan a large city and a vast province in Khurasan. Hence for the con-struction and maintenance of this ancient and cultural city all neighboring countries must work seriously.Deputy Minister of information and culture of Afghani-stan, considering Ghazni history says “ At the begin-ning of Islam Ghazni was a part of Zabul-istan city but after possession of Safaryan more work was done for development of this city” according to Sistan history, building of Ghazni started during Yaqoub Lais Safar, but during Samani era which was the year 350 h , Qalptagin who was the Generalissimo of Samaniyan and governer of Khurasan, then he moved to Balkh and then to Ghazniand selected Ghazni as the capital of his Government. His successors like Saboktaging, father of Mahmood Ghaznavi added more credibility to it.Mr. Noorani explains appellation of Ghazni city based on Baihaqy “Ghazna which is close but slight de-formed to Ghanja, Also the term Ghaznain as per some believes its Deuteronomy of Ghazna”.He says that the two Ghaznavi king’s tomb added more credibility to the historical and cultural value of this city. One is Sultan Mahmood’stomb and the other belongs to Soboktagin which are buried in Firuzi gar-den in Afghan Shaal area respectively. Soboktagin’s tomb is a simple and humble that has an old inscription but Sultan Mahmood’s tomb and its garden which is named Rawza today is a public shrine which is said that is constructed during Amir Habibullah government.Deputy Minister of Information and culture declared that about Ghazni or Ghaznain also mentioned in Shahnama Ferdousi, the largest Farsi epic book. This shows the civilization of Ghaznavids era, due to these reason Islamic countries agreed to select this city as the center of Islamic civilization.Afsar Rahbin director of cultural affairs of rehabilita-tion and reconstruction commission of Ghazni for cen-ter of Islamic countries, in a meeting in the ministry of Infromation and culture says: Ghazni due to having special features among the ancient cities of Afghani-stan is been selected as the center of Islamic civiliza-tion in the year 2007 in a gathering in Trables, but the construction of historical buildings is still in progress and will be opened officially in the year 2013.Director of rehabilitation and reconstruction of Ghazni

also says: “Ghaznavids and Sultan Mahmood empire in Arian civilization spread Islam, hence it should be selected as the center of Islamic civilization.It is said that in Sultan Mahmood era more than hun-dred poets were present in Ghaznavids court and were writing poetry and doing cultural works, this also can be a feature of culture in Ghazni.Apart from beautiful and spectacular places of Ghazni city we can name Victory Garden, Sadhazar Gar-den or Hazar Darakht , Shrine of poets like Sanaey Ghaznavi and many other historical places.Victory Garden is one of the beautiful places of this city, Sultan Mahmood meeting and soiree was at this place, where more formal meetings especially during Sultan Masoud Ghaznavi and currently Sultan Mah-mood’s tomb to his will, located in this garden.Director of rehabilitation and reconstruction commis-sion of Ghazni says: overall for reconstruction of this city requires 200 million dollars, but this budget is not yet approved by the government.Mr. Rahbin claims that places where the government wants to reconstruct are Ghazni citadel, Ghazni mina-rets, Sultan Masoud Palace, Soboktagin tomb, Sultan

As per Mr. Rahbin declaring, besides that Ghazni is being reconstructed ministry of information and culture plans to produce a documentary film in several international languages specially English which will show Ghazni dates and Ghaznavid Empire.It’s said that in Sultan Mahmood era no tourist has got the opportunity to visit Ghazni. But 120 years after the death of Sultan Mahmoodby Allauddin Hussain ghori Ghazni was destroyed by him and after burning Ghazni he was named as Jahan Souz. Ghazni city is located 135 kilometers far from Kabul, it is said that the old city in Ghazni is located at the northern side of new city. In that you can see high fences and in long distance great old moat can be seen.Ghazni has twelve districts which are Jaghtu, Malestan, Ajarestan, Moqor, Jaghori, Aab band, Giru, Qarabagh, Andar, Deh Yak, Gilan and Zana khan. Ghazni is the center of Ghazni province.This city is one of the central and populated cities in which people from different etnic groups like Hazara, Tajik and Pashtun are living.

Even though pomegranate is found in most countries around the world, but Afghan pomegranates have a special place, and its name is everywhere.Pomegranate of Kandahar, not only within the country, but its name is word of mouth among the regional coun-tries and named as unmatched Pomegranate.Afghan pomegranate especially pomegranates of Kan-dahar are among the best-selling fruit in the market of regional countries especially Japan and Turkey that ev-ery year more than 10 metric tons of pomegranate has been exported.Provinces of Kandahar, Zabul, Kapisa and Jalalabad are among the most producers of pomegranate in Afghani-stan and the provincial income revenue from pomegran-ate growers annually reaches millions of US Dollars.Qurban Haqjo Chief Director of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce said in an interview with Safi Magazine, in the year 1389 the amount of fresh pomegranates ex-ported by Afghan merchants were around eleven thou-sand metric tons and earned good revenue this way.According to the Chief Director of Chamber of Com-merce of Afghanistan, businessmen earned around 5 Million two hundred and seventy two thousand US Dollars by selling pomegranate which is indeed a big amount compare to other revenues.According to Mr. Haqjo, with no proper packaging but still Afghan pomegranate shave a lot of buyers compare to other fruits in the world.Based on Qurban Haqjo’s declaring currently most Af-ghan pomegranates exported to other countries are from Kandahar and Tagab district of Kapisa province.However, due to incorrect system of transferring pome-granate big losses being entered to the exporters. But by creating fridges and easy transportation materials of pomegranate we can maximize the profit that will be earned in the future. The care from government authori-ties is very important specially in regards to the busi-ness of pomegranate and to find a place in neighbor countries market.As Afghanistan is amongst the countries that export maximum dry fruit but also fruits such Kunduz melon, Badakhshan’s apple, Panjshir’s berry, Herat, Shamali and Kandahar’s grape, Kunduz almond, Badakhshan’s peanut and pomegranate of Kandahar are very famous and has made a good place in the world’s market.Most of the countries that import pomegranate of Af-ghanistan, due to being natural they provide juice, paste, jam and other healthy syrup from it.Among the regional countries except Iran thatdoesn’t have interest in importing pomegranate of Afghanistan, the rest all regional and west countries for instance Ja-pan is the importer of Afghan pomegranate and has best-selling in their market place.

Chief Director of chamber of commerce claims, if seri-ous care is taken about the pomegranate of Afghani-stan, indeed it will be amongst worlds’ and regional countries famous product and the income earned this way will increase in millions of dollars.He emphasized that with regard to the government at-titude concerning the approach to the internal products of the country and enter regional and international mar-ket we need to have strong competition, but in order to have a place in the regional countries market its es-sential for modern systems in relation to processing and packaging of pomegranate and to reduce the losses, by proper packaging of pomegranate in different catego-ries we can compete seriously with pomegranates of other countries in terms of quality.It’s said that if precise and regular packing of pomegran-ate is done, this will increase the stability and quality in the market and more will be sold, under such circum-stances customers without worrying will purchase more from the merchant.Qurban Haqjo claims that overall proper packaging and processing of Afghan pomegranate can maximize the revenue earned multiple times and can find more buy-ers among the countries, because in global market to-day many factors made packaging an important matter to be considered and is an absorption factor attracting more customers.Meanwhile, spokesman of the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock Majidullah Qararsays, the Ministry has signed agreement with some aid agencies in agriculture sec-tors which will support farmers and gardeners to in-crease their products.According to Mr. Qarar their horticulture sector projects they have in provinces of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Kandahar, Herat and some northern provinces so far, on this basis the farmers and gardeners have been able to improve their products than previous years. He also said that in the process and keeping of pome-granate and other fruits in fridge, The Ministry of Agri-culture Livestock has plans in hand in near future to cre-ate fridges in those provinces where their products are sizeable so that gardeners of pomegranate and other fruits can keep their fruits in their own province and after processing merchants could export in proper packages to Kabul and outside the country.

Being awarded IOSA comes with it a subscription to a club of airlines who enjoy, statistically, the highest safest rates in the aviation industry. Together, the Quality and Safety team are fo-cusing their efforts this year on continuing their safe operations strictly within the requirements of ICAO’s safety rules and regulations and passing the IOSA before the end of 2011. Mr. Zaidan has been brought into Safi Airways to once again lead an IOSA team and replicate the same success that he achieved with his previous airline and we are confident that he will succeed. Mr. Zaidan is assisted by Gareth Jones, Safi’s Flight Safety Officer. Gareth is a regular B737 line pilot and as well as managing the Flight Safety department he is also a Flight Data An-alyst using Safi’s Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) software.

Herat is the largest city in the Western Region of Af-ghanistan. It pre-dates Alexander the Great by centuries and has been invaded and conquered by every power to sweep through Asia. Following Alexander were the Ghaznavids, Ghorids, Timurids, the Mongolian Hordes, the Mughals of India and Central Asia. The British tried to take the city through force of arms. The Czars of Rus-sia attempted to steal it away through both armed force and intrigue.The Masjid-i Jami of Herat, the city’s first congregational mosque, was built on the site of two smaller Ghaznavid mosques that were destroyed by earthquake and fire. The present mosque was begun by Ghurid ruler Ghi-yath al-Din Muhammad b. Sam (1162-1202) in 1200 (597 AH), and continued after his death by his brother and successor Shihab al-Din. This is confirmed both by an inscription on the eastern Ghurid portal uncovered in 1964 during a restoration, and by the sixteenth century Timurid historian Khwandamir in his Khulasat al-Akhbar. It is debated whether this mosque was originally sited at the city center, although it was probably built in the northwest quarter of the medieval city, within the origi-nal walls. According to Lisa Golombek, Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad respected the original westerly orientation that reflected its Hanafite tradition, although his Shafite tradition would have favored a southern orientation of the qibla. In the thirteenth century, Chingiz Khan pillaged the prov-ince and the building fell into ruin. Rebuilding and reno-vation programs were undertaken by the Kart rulers in 1306 (706 AH) and again after a devastating earthquake in 1364. After 1397, the Timurid rulers redirected Herat’s growth towards the North. This suburbanization and the building of a new Friday mosque in Gawhar Shad’s Mus-alla marked the end of the Masjid-i Jami’s patronage by a monarchy. Repairs between 1404 and 1446 (807 - 850 AH) were completed by Jalal al-Din Firuzshah, one of the most prominent amirs of Shah Rukh bin Timur (1405-1444). the mosque was then rebuilt by Mir Ali Shir Navai -- a prominent poet and minister of Sultan Husain Baiqara (1469-1506) -- in two years beginning in 1498 (903 AH), although Isfizari states that the decorations alone were completed over the course of five years. By the mid-twentieth century, little remained of the Timurid mosque, at which time, the structure was reconstructed and extended as part of a larger urban project. The plan for the new mosque corrects the irregulari-ties of the original mosque layout and reconstructs el-ements (like the mausoleum), which were entirely lost by the 1940s. The new mosque is rectangular with four deeply vaulted iwans and domed hypostyle halls around a courtyard, with a reconstruction of the mausoleum of Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad bin Sam located behind the northern iwan. The main portal faces east. There are five secondary entrances along the north and east walls, including the last remaining Ghurid portal at the southeastern corner of the mosque complex. The ex-terior and courtyard walls are all richly decorated with pink bricks covered with plaster and predominantly blue tile work with vegetal and floral motifs. The exterior was

entirely and heavily restored prior to 1970. The eastern façade of the Masjid-i Jami is contempo-rary. The symmetrically arranged entry elevation has a pishtaq flanked on either side by bi-level arched niches, minarets, and long walls with blind arches. The pishtaq and the arched niches have complex ribbed vaults. To the left of the entrance is the original completion plaque composed in Kufic style that announces the date of con-struction and gives praise to the donor. At the south-ernmost edge of this façade, behind the screen wall, is a portal from the Ghurid mosque. Its double-arched niche is crowned with a brick squinch-net vault. It has been lightly restored. The doorway is flanked with two engaged columns. The surfaces of the columns and the spandrels of the portal arch are covered with geometric carvings in pink stone. On either side of the doorway are panels of kufic inscriptions carved in stone and high-lighted with blue tiles. The eastern portal iwan is comprised of a half-dome chamber and muqarnas vaulting. This portal leads to the courtyard through a series of three small vestibules. The mosque courtyard is an expansive paved surface, measuring approximately 121 meters by 174 meters; it is lined with single storey arcades with four centered iwans. These iwans are not domed, but instead have deeply recessed arches. In the southeast corner of the courtyard is the Kartid period cauldron, which was made in 1375 and is still used for distributing fruit-fla-vored syrup (sharbat). There is a small standing mihrab (namazgah) in the courtyard. The sanctuary iwan to the west is the largest and deep-est. The eastern portal iwan is next in size, and the two lateral iwans are smallest. The two minarets at the corners of the sanctuary pishtaq underline the signifi-cance of this mass, which contains a mihrab niche on its western wall. Surrounding the courtyard on all four sides are domed or vaulted hypostyle prayer halls. The halls are seven bays deep on the west, eight bays deep on the east and five bays deep on the north and south sides of the courtyard. Accessed through the courtyard arcade, the bays are enclosed in certain sections to cre-ate rooms or corridors. Typical of monuments in Herat, where timber and stone were unavailable, the mosque was built of mud-bricks covered in plaster. Originally a large square structure, the tomb of Ghiyath al-Din Muhammad bin Sam to the north of the courtyard was rebuilt as an octagonal hall with circular niches on the interior walls. It is entered through a three-sided pro-jection on the northern mosque wall, which is carved with three deep niches and crowned with two minarets. Overall, the mosque’s multiple reconstructions and res-toration programs leave little to authenticate as original. Twentieth century programs, most notably the 1945 pro-gram, have expanded the northeastern section of the mosque from a length of approximately 101 meters to 121 meters. The exterior was redecorated with tiles and carved stone, and sections of the courtyard arcade were glazed. The reflecting pool at the center of the courtyard and the single tree at its northwest corner were also re-moved during these restorations.

Further-more, as around 70 per cent of our passengers are connecting to another flight, we wanted to make sure that Safi Airways remains the leader in technology and provides an improved customer satisfac-tion (e.g. onward boarding passes in Kabul).The Safi Project Team was built around a small core team of 3 staff members responsible to make this big move a reality. Transferring 12500 bookings from the old to the new system and issuing a new ticket without losing any of them, going through all the business pro-cesses, training our staff in Kabul and Dubai, creating an innovative booking tool for afghan travel agents , moving the interline agree-ments from one system to the other and many many more. Olivier Schmidlin, project manager at Amadeus IT Group stated: “I was worried at the beginning of the project – what could I expect from a small afghan carrier only providing 3 staff members to cover the whole migration exercise? However we realized that the Safi team was extremely dedicated and focused - the Amadeus Group was impressed by such a small team managing the migration to Ama-deus in just 8 months from the first discussion to cutover. We cannot remember we had such a smooth cutover in such a short time with such a small team. And it seems this is just because they wanted to make it happen for the customer and the future of the airline.”

(Currently this is Delta, Continental, United, Emirates, Lufthansa , Qatar, Etihad, Hainan China,).To ensure all this is possible, we need you to force your travel agent to book your entire trip in one “PNR” (Passenger Name Re-cord as we call it) or, to speak in general language, in one booking. If your travel agent creates a booking to go to Dubai and another one from Dubai to your final destination, we will not be able to check you through. Dubai will not know about your transit and in case of flight disruption, no one will assist you as you are deemed to have Dubai as your final destination.All of you are mostly experienced travelers to and from Afghanistan. As all enhancements, it will take a while, especially in Afghanistan, to get everyone used to it. Safi’s SMS program was completed towards the end of 2010 when Flight Data Monitor-ing (FDM) was introduced into their Accident Prevention and Flight Safety Program. Vari-ously known as FOQA in the USA, FDM is a state of the art computer software system that essentially monitors ‘how the aircraft is being flown’ and it aims to reduce all areas of operational risk from engine health monitor-ing to measuring flight data performance. This program became mandatory in Europe for all public transport operations in 2005 and Safi is the first Afghan operator ever to use such cutting edge technology. In keep-ing with the safety team’s culture of continu-ous improvement FDM has helped Safi lead the way forward in terms of safety against all its regional competitors in this area. Safi utilizes Aerobytes, an advanced piece of software developed by a UK based compa-ny. Aerobytes currently measures over 500 aircraft parameters and records nearly 200 events and searches for periods of flight that fall outside a pre-defined ‘ideal’ envelope. If a pilot flies outside company approved Stan-dard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), or if the aircraft exceeds any Airbus/Boeing limitation, the software will register the moment as an ‘event’. Flight Data Analysts analyze these events back at the Dubai office and have the ability to replay flights using 3-D animation, as typically illustrated in these snapshots. This flight data is regularly downloaded from the Aircraft’s Flight Data Recorder (FDR - The ‘Black Box’) and fed into the Aerobytes software program. The flight data is rou-tinely analyzed on a regular basis by Safi’s dedicated team of Flight Data Analysts who are responsible for the detailed analysis of recorded flight events. The Flight Data Analysts, all of whom are regular line pilots, look for any exceedances in flight limitations. When identified it helps the flight safety team detect any unsafe emerging trends. The events are risk assessed and the trend

analysis findings are presented to the FDM group who ensure that early corrective safe-ty action is taken well before a low probability event actually occurs.

The FDM Group is a crucially important part of the flight safety team and consists of senior management pilots, the Director of Flight Training as well as the members of the Flight Safety committee. They meet to address any areas of operational concern. The team is managed by pilots and serves to educate the rest of the pilot workforce to help them become fully aware of the hazards of operating into Afghanistan. Safety bulletins are issued to highlight awareness of FDM events and the pilots training programs are individually tailored around FDM findings to ensure that the pilot’s training and skills are optimally fine tuned.One example in which Safi has used FDM to improve the safety and the quality of its operations is by studying the flight data sur-rounding unstable approaches into Kabul. An unstable approach is where the aircraft is approaching too fast, too high, or touches down beyond the desired 1000 ft touchdown point. The very latest point at which our aircraft must be absolutely stable is 1000 ft Above Ground Level (AGL), otherwise pi-lots must go-around and try for another ap-proach. Now Kabul is a category ‘C’ airport and the descent profile can be quite challenging even for the most experienced of pilots be-

cause the airport is surrounded by rapidly rising mountainous terrain. Descent clear-ance is not given by ATC until aircraft are clear of the 17,000 ft mountains and this can leave the pilots ‘hot and high’. The challenge for pilots is to get back on the descent profile with limited track mile dis-tance and the traditional technique is to use increased airspeed. But once down bleed-ing off the excess airspeed delays the pilot’s ability to select the landing gear and flaps for an approach to land and if not flown correctly can lead to late initial stabilization. To address this safety challenge Safi’s Flight Data Analysts have studied in detail pilot ap-proaches into Kabul airport. FDM has helped the safety team understand the precursors that lead up to late stabilization and through a team effort involving the pilots, and with the support and cooperation of Kabul’s Air Traffic Controllers, have collectively worked together to re-design Safi’s approach into Kabul airport. All Safi aircraft are now routed via WEBRO transition point further out to the East of the airport which offers the pilots more time and distance to achieve stability before commencing their approach. FDM has helped Safi’s flight safety team identify and clearly understand the hazards of operating into Kabul and they have been able to educate the Training Department and their pilots. In April 2011 FDM showed a marked positive downward trend in event rates that not just proved FDM’s value, but also that the safety team’s efforts have paid dividends. Safi now operates and maintains a level of safety throughout its operations as never seen be-fore by any other Afghan carrier. You can be rest assured that with FDM watching over every flight all Safi passen-gers are in the very safest of hands not just because of their very experienced flight crew but also because of the support of Safi’s Flight Data Monitoring team.

Minds are stirred with art; Cinema is a part of my lifeThe overall goal of my work in the arena of theater and cinema is to por-tray my country citizens’ tough life. But so far the story of my films was to show the hard life and difficult situa-tion of Afghan women. These are the words of Alka Sadat the youngest fe-male director of Afghan cinema. After coordinating to take her interview I went her home and ask about her so far activities.The room environment wherein she does cinema activities looks like an exhibition. Video camera, Computer, Pat trays and other equipment placed in an irregular order in this room. But the situation of the room was indi-cating the enthusiasm in her scenes shooting taking place in daily work.The environment of this room em-

bodies the feeling of art in man’s mind. Different images hung on the wall, awards and achievements of Alka Sadat that has achieved from different film festivals are placed in a big closet at the corner of the room.Few minutes I speak with Roya Saa-dat, Alka’s sister. But I need to take Alka Saadat’s interview because re-cently she has achieved an award for her new film (Half Value Life)Even though Alka had significant activities for Afghan cinema but she appears less in media for interviews. She believes that her achievements and activities should represent her personality rather than she appears in media. Alka Saadat has started her activities in the arena of cinema in the year 2004 and her first work was with her elder sister (Roya Saadat).

She says: Although she completed her studies in cinema and theater in It-aly but in 2004 she worked for the first time with her elder sister in the movie “SeNoqta (three points) then later she got the opportunity to make a docu-mentary film called “me and you”.Alka explains her first experience in making films: “For the first time I examined my talent in the film “three points” and came to know that I can expose the situations and conditions into pictures in cinema.I asked Alka what problems you face for your past and current activities?She thought for a while and replied. The condition and situations in Af-ghanistan is such that you have to cope with problems in order to achieve what you want otherwise it’s impossible. So I do not want to talk much about problems.

Alka Saadat claims that we can get and achieve what we want especially in the arena of cinema; Afghanistan is full of interesting fields. Therefore if we try hard and trust ourselves then we can get significant result for our society.Among the films made by Alka Saa-dat and achieved award from film festivals (Half Value Life) was among ten best films Leipzig film festival. Also in documentary and short films festivals in Kabul achieved the best editing award.She claims that life of our citizen in Afghanistan is very misfortune; therefore using the art of cinema we can produce very good documentary movies.Most of her documentary movies ex-pose the social exclusion of women and women rights in Afghanistan.One of her films (me and you) shows the life of Afghan women who lost their husbands during conflicts and also do not have young children but still with a high ambition they provide food for their families. She believes that job and work of an actor flagrant the bitter truth and sometimes the achievements and proud of a nation to be a lesson for others in their life and future. Also it’s possible to lug the silent voice of a nation in a very short film.(1, 2, 3?)Is another film directed by this young director which depicts the women that does self-immolation due to pressure and beating by their husbands.Alka Saadat says: art is a part of life innate rather than considering it as a job.Another film directed by Alka Saadat which impressed filmmakers is (we are postmodernist). The script of this film is based on the life street chil-dren and Ms. Alka has tried to show the truth of their life with her artistic elegance and no exaggerations(we are postmodernist) in the second film festival of documentary and short films achieved the best cinematogra-phy award.Ms. Alka even though has directed

five films but still she doesn’t have interest to work as an actor because she feels comfortable as a director.Ms. Alka beside the short film (we are postmodernist) has directed another film (My God) in cooperation with a Tajik director.Latest work of Alka is a film named (Half Value Life) in which the security and social problems and activities of first women lawyer in Afghanistan are brought into picture.This film mostly looks like a docu-mentary and shows the life of a lady who works in Herat Province as a Lawyer.Love and affection is stirred in Alka’s life and treats the society as per these approaches.Although she considers simplicity and beauty as the deepest compo-nents of life, but she believes that man should walk along with stroke, because remaining behind the stroke and civilization is considered as igno-rance and old idealism.Alka Saadat claims that coping with difficulties in life and having self-con-fidence are the first steps of success and this makes everyone reach their dreams and hopes.She says: art can be an inspiration for beauty of life and overall under-standing of what human consider values in the society as it is inspired. Therefore it’s an essence for an art-ist and actor to find the fundamentals of these values because sometimes it can be the story of civilization and sometimes the way to find solutions for the problems of a nation. It opens the way towards bliss and salvation.At the end of her words Alka Saadat has a message for the citizens of this country that believe their selves, “accept each other and consider the values as an example for our life, So that we also have a developed coun-try.” She adds that, “To have a developed country there is a need for a commu-nity where sympathy and acceptance exist, because if we do not work for our country no one else will do it.”

Rise of Taekwondo in AfghanistanTaekwondo as a popular and attractive martial sport for the first time in the year 1352 during Sar-dar Mohammed Daoud republic government start-ed by an American man named (Fal Gunghm) at Kabul University. (Fal Gunghm) who was one of the American teachers of Faculty of Engineering at Ka-bul University tried a lot to encourage student and attracted many of them to join and learn this sport. Foundation of this sport in an academic center made the initial steps very strong and had a good influence for the future of it. The influence encour-aged many of the best and elite youth of that time to learn it in an academic and classic way and the core taekwondo club was established. Trainers such as Homayoon, Khalil Haidari, Atiqul-lah, Habib, Mohammad Akbar Haidari, Asadulla-hOryakhil were among the first who established Afghanistan Taekwondo and learned it in academic way. However Professor Fal Gunghm was a great honor for Taekwondo of Afghanistan but very soon Afghan trainers took the responsibility and man-agement. Mr. Homayoon from Maiwand Club , Mr. Habib from Habib Club and Mr. Mohammad Akbar Haidari of Haidari club and Mr. Asadullah from Oryakhil club where the first founders of this sport in Afghanistan.

During sixty decade Taekwondo in Afghanistan was spread in other provinces as well. Till the year 1366 no improvement made in Taekwondo, then for the first time Taekwondo Pumse was introduced by Abdul Naser Hottaki who was a student of Mohammad Akbar Haidari and had learned this martial art in Iran. Also in the year 1372 Taekwondo Federation of Afghanistan was registered in the world Taekwondo federation. Even though during intensive war and conflict in the country, but still this federation was able to organize national championships and for the first time Taekwon-do national championship for selecting best players for the national team was organized in the year 1372.The first international championship in which Afghani-stan team has participated after establishment was in Herushima, Japan. The first world medal was achieved by Nesar Ahmad Bahavi in the year 2007 and had an impact to the taekwondo and also was a step that in the year 2008 Rohullah Nikpa achieved the first Olym-pic medal and at the end of 2008 Mahmood Haidari and Hassan Rezaey got international bronze medals in Turkey, also Mahmood Haidari achieved silver medal in Copenhagen in 2009. Ladies such as Salma Hassani, Shafiqa Kaargar, Ni-laAhmadi and Humaira Mohammadi achieved silver and bronze medals and this is also an important step in federation of Afghanistan Taekwonod. The latest achievements of this federation were from Iran Daha-e- Fajr Championships in the year 1389.Afghanistan Taekwondo national team in 23rd champi-onships of Daha-e- Fajr got the second place .Afghan team achieved one Gold medal , one silver medal and one bronze and has got 33 points that stood in the second place. In this championship Mohammad Tariq Faizi from Herat got a gold medal, Rohullah Nikpa got silver and Parwiz Nazari got a bronze medal.

As a result in these championships there were players from 12 European and Asian countries, Afghanistan team after Iran stood at second place. The third place was achieved by Azerbaijan.From other hand afghan taekwondo ladies team Hu-maira Mohammadi, Lina Mohammadi, Kobra and Sid-diqa and four bronze medal for this country.

It is also to be mentioned is that from the time Taekwon-do federation is established great personalities had the responsibility of this federation who are as follows:

1.How did you start flying?“Well my dad served with the Royal Air Force for 25 years so I grew up as a kid on Air Force bases in Germany and in the UK. When I was 14 I joined the Air Training Corps and I enjoyed aerobatic flying in the RAF’s Chipmunk trainer.

2.How long have you been flying? “After university I initially pursued a 10 year career working as a Metropolitan Police Of-ficer in London. During my days off I started flight training and in 2001 I got my PPL. In 2003 I started to spend my off days from Police work building flight time working as a part time Flight Instructor in North London. In 2005 I joined the airlines and I’ve been flying the Boeing 737 ever since.”

3.How did you join Safi Airways?“I was made redundant from my last airline. The recession caught up with me and my last company - XL Airways based at London (Gatwick) - filed for bankruptcy in Sept 2008. So as one airline collapsed another starts and along came the opportunity to join an exciting new start up - Safi Airways. I was amongst

the very first to join and 2 ½ years later I’m still here and very excited about the prospect of flying Safi’s new fleet of Airbus A320.

4.How does Safi’s safety system work? “From the outset we’ve done our very best to differentiate ourselves against all the Afghan competition by setting the very highest levels of safety standards; the same standard we would have expected from our previous air-lines back in NW Europe and the USA.

We’ve achieved this by implementing ICAO’s Safety Management System. It’s very ef-fective and it’s a system that has actually become mandatory under the FAA, Europe and in the UAE. Essentially, it’s a system that begins by every employee understanding that anyone can report anything about any subject that they believe represents a safety risk. The generic rule at Safi is ‘If in doubt – report it’ because the chances are if it has happened to you, it has happened to someone else.

5.Do you complete safety inspections on Safi’s flights?

“Yes, in fact I schedule every other week a random safety inspection on our aircraft to check that the flight crew and safety equip-ment etc are fully compliant with local regu-lations. I try to use different qualified person-nel each time and involve everyone, the idea being that it’s a collective team effort and different people see different hazards. If there are any safety deficiencies, I list the findings and distribute them to heads of departments for immediate corrective action.

6.What’s the most effective safety tool that you have at Safi?“Without question Safi’s most effective safety tool is our Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) software. We introduced FDM in October 2010; it’s a ‘must have’ to join IATA. It’s a very powerful piece of software that allows us to replay flights through a computer and it has helped us make significant safety improvements.”

KABUL: Afghan U-13 football team with its outstanding performance won the South Asian Zone U-13 Festival Football in Iran on Monday 2011-05-23 with 18 points.

Afghan champions playing in ‘A’ played 7 matches and was able to win 6 match-es, by defeating Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and twice Nepal with one loss against the host Iran, said Ahmad Shah Sayer, Head of Media Officer of Football Federation.

“Our youngsters have played remarkable games throughout the event and achieved 1st position for the first time amongst 8 Asian nations,” he added.

Afghan football team is scheduled to return home today 2011-05-24.The Football Festival was kicked off from 10-23 May in Yazd city of Iran with participation of 8 countries and hundreds of footballers.

Afghanistan youngsters clinched 2nd place last year in the same tournament.According to the federation, condition of football has been promoted across the country during past few years.

120 goals were scored during the 41 rotating games played at the South Asian region competitions. The top teams and best players of the games received their cups, plates of honor, medallions, and prizes at the closing ceremony of the event, held here Monday evening.However, Irna, the official news agency of Iran, reported Iran clinched the title, without mentioning about the points for Afghanistan.

“اسامه مرگ تا بود کرده عهد با خود پیش ۱۰ سال که حدود آمریکایی مرد یک بن الدن” ریش خود را نتراشد، یکروز بعد از کشته شدن اسامه دست به این کار زد.

با خود عهد از ۱۱ سپتامبر “گاری وادیل” یک شهروند ۵۰ ساله آمریکایی که پس کرده بود تا زمان مرگ یا کشته شدن “اسامه بن الدن” رهبر شبکه تروریستی القاعده ریش خود را نتراشد باالخره روز گذشته پس از حدود ۱۰ سال ریش خود را تراشید.

او در این باره گفت: پس از حوادث ۱۱ سپتامبر حدس می زدم که “اسامه بن الدن” اما متاسفانه حدود ۱۰ سال را طی چند هفته و یا حداکثر چند ماه بازداشت کنند

طول کشید و در نهایت هم او را بازداشت نکردند بلکه کشته شد.وی در ادامه افزود: من هم مجبور شدم در این مدت ریش خود را نتراشم زیرا با خود عهد کرده بودم و این یک تصمیم شخصی بود. هدفم از این کار این بود که به محض بازداشت یا کشته شدن “بن الدن” با تراشیدن ریش

خود، خوشحال شوم و خوشحالی خود را به دیگران نشان بدهم زیرا من او را “بدترین تروریست طول تاریخ” می دانم.“گاری وادیل” که به شغل معلمی مشغول است، همچنین گفت: من دقیقا مجبور شدم سه هزاروچهارصد وپنجاه وچهار روز ریش خود را نتراشم. طول ریشم حدود ۳۰ سانتی متر شده بود. از همین رو دوستان، نزدیکان و همسایگان که از وضعیت و تصمیم من با خبر بودند، به محض شنیدن خبر مرگ “بن الدن” به خانه ام آمدند تا صحنه تراشیدن ریشم را پس از اینهمه مدت ببینند و جشن بگیرند. بسیاری

از همکاران مکتب و برخی از دانش آموزان نیز در این جشن شرکت کردند.

کیلوگرم وزن داشته باشد.هرداکتری توان تشخیص علت بروزاین بیماری نادرراندارد.شاید مریضی این به درجهان افرادی دست یک انگشتان تعداد به

مبتال باشند.او تاثیر گذاشته است. سایز باال تنه او فقط در پاهایش بیماری کوچک است، اما پاهایش هنوز در حال رشد هستند. سایز کف

پای او ۳۵ اینچ می باشد.روانشناسی می باشد، می گوید التحصیل رشته فارغ “مندی” که هم از او کند. زندگی عادی بقیه مانند که می کند تالش که صحبتی با دوستانش و مخصوصا رانندگی با موتر ویژه خود )که

با دست کنترل می شود( لذت می برد.“مندی” پاهایش همچنان رشد می کند و رشد می کند. او هنوز شود قطع پاهایش باید نهایتا می گوید ولی برود راه می تواند

چونکه هیچ درمان و دوایی برای مریضی او وجود ندارد.“مندی” میگوید که درحال برنامه ریزی برای زنده گی بعدازقطع

آیند و چه چیز نا خوش آیند است ؟قلب های سرشار از محبت، با وقار، صبور و آیند خوش برایم افغانستان مردم شکیبای و آیند ناخوش برایم که چیزی و است. ناراحت کننده است، نبودن امنیت کامل، فقر

و بیکاری که این مردم پاک تینت و شریف افغانستان سزاوار این مشکالت نیستند و ما مردم افغانستان باید دست به دست همدیگر بدهیم و به اتحاد و همبستگی قوی، جامعه به و بسازیم شگوفا را خود عزیز کشور و بیوه هیچ مهربان چشمان روزیکه آن امید و یتیمی افغان را پر اشک نبینیم و همدیگر را شاد و خندان ببینیم . انشااهلل که خداوند افغانستان سربلند و شریف مردم با متعال

است . شهرت یا محبوبیت؟

و سهل خیلی شهرت کسب ! محبوبیت را اینکار میتواند کس هر که است آسان میتواند دزد هم که یک بگویم میشه بکند بوده محبوب هیچگاه اما شود مشهور
