SAFETY TALK PHYSICAL DISTANCING NOT SOCIAL ISOLATION Did you know? Physical distancing, in which you distance yourself physically from others, is an effecve tool to be ulized in fighng the spread of COVID-19. The effecveness of social distancing is based on the fact that: It limits the potenal for COVID-19 to be spread during close unprotected contact between an infected person and an uninfected person Individuals infected with COVID-19 may exhibit lile to no symptoms of the virus. Without social distancing, they may unknowingly spread the virus to others around them. You need to know: Physical Distancing involves making changes in your everyday rounes in order to minimize close contact with others in your community and includes: Keeping a distance of at least 2 arms lengths (approximately 2 meters) from others Avoiding crowded places and non-essenal gatherings Avoiding social gestures which require physical contact (handshakes, hugs, kisses, etc.) PHYSICAL DISTANCING DOES NOT MEAN SOCIAL ISOLATION Make sure to stay connected with others through phone and internet; take in an online exercise class, find your groove during a virtual dance party, host an online movie watch party with friends...explore the many opons to embrace social connecon with others while keeping physical distance ! As employees of the Saskatchewan Health Authority, it is important that we set an example to others.
