Goals for next year• Implement the safety recommendations the critical issues subcommittee identified as part of the district’s

Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) process.

• Develop a plan integrating school and community resources to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and the community.

• Determine if a back to work or light duty program can be integrated with the workers’ compensation plan to maintain or improve the district MOD, and to help staff safely return to work following an injury.

• Implement the Raptor visitor management system.

• Evaluate mobile emergency systems that can communicate with staff during an emergency, fully integrate with district emergency plans to direct action steps, and maintain current rosters of students and emergency contacts.

• Review and implement where appropriate recommendations from the district safety and security audit.

• Review and implement where appropriate recommendations from the locking consultants’ districtwide audit.

• Develop a plan to integrate the district’s security camera system with new locking technology, and door position switches to provide live monitoring of exterior doors.

• Implement the safety projects included as part of Proposition K and develop a districtwide approach to locking and securing all buildings.

• Continue to implement safety modules and training through the Safe Schools training system.

• Develop a plan for followup active shooter training, a training plan for new staff members, and for students. Also, work with safety experts to determine best practices for safety drills and inspections.
