DECLARATION OF CONFORMITY OR INCORPORATION

The EC Declaration of Conformity is the result of a conformity evaluationof a complete machine or system together with the much sought-afterCE symbol. With the declaration of conformity, the manufacturer con-

firms that the machine or system put on the mar-ket is in compliance with the latest Europeanlaws and directives.

In case of a complete system, Flottweg delivers machines, system components and the control system

to assure a complete engineering process.

Besides a complete machine or system, there may also be an incom-plete machine or system, depending on the scope of delivery. In thiscase, a declaration of incorporation is required for the incomplete ma-

chine or system which is in compliance with theconformity evaluation and the existing legislationand directives.

CE-CONFORMITYNew Markets, New Challenges

In the case of a centrifuge, certain risks (like openings, gaps, safetyshutdowns, acoustic noises, etc.) may only be excluded after the com-ponents have been built in a complete system. Some potential dangerscan only be preventive after additionally necessary functions (such asconnecting pipes, solids chambers, barriers, and housings) have beeninstalled on site.

Easy conformity

Depending on the circumstances, close cooperation between the manufacturer and the operator may be necessary to get CE conformity. Flottweg will be pleased to give you advice on how to reach optimum safetyfor your system and will assist you.

In order to be able to face the challenges of the market, modernizations and modifications are indispensable.In legislation, these modifications are called “essential changes” which have to be verified concerning safety.Flottweg will be pleased to support you in this issue so that you can operate compliant machines and systems also in future.

So a centrifuge is considered an “incomplete ma-chine” requiring a declaration of incorporation.Only with commissioning the machine within thecomplete system is the machine complete.
