Restricted Injury While stone dusting the air line became blocked. Miner went to o/bye tap, opened tap but no air came out of valve. He then inserted a screw driver into valve, thus releasing the blockage while also discharging the combined air dust mix onto the hand. This peppered the hand causing multiple small but deep intrusions on the hand.
Lost Time Injury While moving a 100kg plus steel shaft from the back of a man carrier to the forks of an EIMCO the shaft slipped. Person reached out to stop shaft and trapped fingers between shaft and forks. Tip of ring finger amputated and adjacent index finger fractured.
