Fire Prevention
• The “Fire Triangle” identifies the three components of any fire:– Fuel paper, wood, flammable gas, energized electrical
equipment, etc...– Energy (heat), sufficient to support combustion. often
referred to as the ignition source.– Oxidizer (air)

Prevention
• Other fire prevention methods include:– Heat or smoke detectors.– Automatic fire sprinkler
systems.– Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose
Reels and Fire Hydrants .– Flame retardant furnishings
and materials.

Exit Drills
• It requires Quarterly fire drills conducted in all occupied locations of the factory areas.
• The fire drills should include staff from all shifts/sections on a rotation basis (i.e. one per shift per quarter).

Personal Protective Equipment
• Head Protection.• Eye and Face Protection.• Hands and Feet
Protection.• Chemical Protective
Clothing.• Protective Clothing
Materials.• Noise &Ear Protection.

Evacuation
• Primary and secondary evacuation routes has been established, and all employees had practiced/drilled to use these routes as per respective area/location.
• Emergency Exits Routs have been clearly marked at all locations.

Remember to RACE during a fire• R R escue – rescue employees from immediate
danger.
• A A lert – yell out “Fire, Fire, Fire ” and pull fire alarm, inform on emergency phone number/gate clerk.
• C C ontain – Contain the effected area by not allowing the fire to spread.
• E E xtinguish/Evacuate – Extinguish small fires, evacuate workers, if appropriate.

Fire Extinguishers• Remember this easy acronym when
using an extinguisher - P.A.S.S.
•Pull the pin.
•Aim the nozzle.
•Squeeze the handle.
•Sweep side to side at the base of the fire.
• NOTE: If, when using a fire extinguisher, the fire is physically larger than, you can safely handle, evacuate the area and notify others by activating the emergency alarms and by shouting Fire, Fire, Fire…….

Remember the Following• All employees must be
aware about emergency evacuation plans/routs.
• Smoking is strictly prohibited in ENTIRE Factory area.
• The use of portable heating devices is also prohibited in factory areas.
