Project: 384BBCK Process: Sheet Piling Work, Site Clearance, Earth & Drain Works at Bukit Batok and Choa Chu Kang Safe Work Procedure: 1) Clearly mark the designated work area bounded by placing barricades or fences around excavated the work area. 2) Place signs around the work area warning people not to enter the work area unless authorized to do so. 3) Wear proper PPE (Vest, helmet, safety shoe, ear plug, safety goggles, safety gloves, dust mask etc) 4) Cable detection report should be distributed to all staffs those who involved at site. 5) Authority approval (LTA, PUB, Power Grid etc) should be made before commencement of work 6) Machinery operators should be qualified. 7) Provide sufficient manpower (ie. Piling Operator, Lifting Supervisor, Rigger / Signalman, Banks man and Traffic Controller) 8) Lifting operation: a) Lifting gear, lifting appliances and lifting machines shall be tested and thoroughly examined by the manufacturer or an approved person before use.

b) All lifting path and access must be leveled and well compacted and that lifting supervisor to check Piling m/c position and ensure that it is on a safe surface. c) All Lifting operations should be carried out in the presence of Rigger, Signalman/Banks man, Lifting supervisor and Traffic Controller. d) All machinery swing areas must be cordoned off and all personnel must keep a safe distance from all lifted loads. e) Ensure that all personnel to clear from lifted load and be vigilant from falling objects f) Ensure that standing supports to be pushed down flat to prevent topping over during lifting or dismantle upright supports before lifting. 9) Lifting operation & Sheet Piling Operation (near to Pedestrian Walkway): a) All Lifting / Piling operations should be carried out in the presence of Lifting Supervisor, Piling Operator, Rigger, Signalman/Banks man and Traffic Controller. b) All machinery swing areas must be cordoned off and all personnel must keep a safe distance from all lifted loads. c) Traffic controller to standby with some Temporary barriers like Safety cones and safety signs to alert the Pedestrians about the Lifting work. d) Temporarily Open the Hoarding sheet for the Traffic Controller to see and communicate with the Lifting team and Piling Operator.

e) When pedestrian reach to the walkway which is very near to Lifting area, Traffic Controller alert the Pedestrian at the same time should communicate with the Lifting Team to hold their Lifting operation until Pedestrians pass by the walk way. Always give preference to Pedestrian and their safety first. Do not carry out any Lifting work during Pedestrians walking the time. Traffic controller should closely monitor and communicate with Lifting team. f) Close the Hoarding sheet when the lifting and piloting operation completed. 9) Hot work operation: a) Apply hot work permit. b) Fire extinguisher should be standby. c) Welder to do regular check up for the leakage of hose, butterfly clip, regulator, torch, gas cylinders before using. d) Keep the cylinders wrench on the cylinders valve so that cylinders could be turned off quickly if need. 10) Regular noise monitoring required. 11) Hydraulic Vibro hammer swing with long arm with sheet pile should be very careful as public and vehicles moving around the working area closely. 12) Housekeeping required daily at the end of the work.
