HEALTH SIGNSConcept: A fast and comprehensible way of drawing the employee´s attention to objects, activities or situations that entail certain dangers.
- No single universally accepted system of workplace safety signs and labels, Main systems: the ISO, ANSI and EU systems.
- Not valid for traffic.
- Characteristics: Easy to understand and recognizable. Unequivocal to avoid confusion.

HEALTH SIGNS IIConditions of Use: - Clearly visible and installed at a suitable height. (dark place:
fluorescent colors, reflective materials or artificial lighting.) - Where and when a genuine danger exists. - Backed up by adequate information, supervision, training and safe
systems of work.
Types of Signs: there are different types of signs and signals. All have their specific form, pictograms and colours.

SIGNS FOR GAS CYLINDERSGas Cylinders: Equipped with statutory color coding and labels to aware the user of the possible risks.
• Color Codes: Different countries have different gas color codes (not rely only on the color of a cylinder to indicate what it contains). Near universal color code.
• The label should always be checked. Contains detailed information on the actual contents of the gas cylinder.

TYPES OF SIGNS
• Prohibition Signs: indicate that certain actions are prohibited.
• Mandatory signs: communicate an obligation, usually relate to the wearing of PPE
• Warning signs: provide information about the risks encountered.
• Safety provision signs: availability of equipment or locations for safety
• Fire fighting equipment signs: availability of equipment or locations related to fire
