The 9-digit number used by the Social Security Administration to keep track of your earnings. It can be used to access bank and credit card accounts as well as other personal information.

Ways to prevent Identity Theft

1. Deposit outgoing mail in the post office mailbox

2. Remove mail once it is delivered

3. Keep items with personal information in a safe place like a locked drawer or lock box

4. Safeguard your sensitive information on your computer or online with passwords that include both numbers and letters.

5. Avoid easily guessed passwords. Use letters and numbers
