Employee of the Month:

Cheng Zhu A tradition around any office, the honorary Employee of the

Month for October was Cheng Zhu, a worker in the Accounting

department. His hard work and efforts clearly paid off; he received

a free pass, which allows him to be excused from business attire

once and his personal selection of a movie DVD. “I felt like my

hard work wasn‟t being recognized, but I guess it did pay off!” said

the enthusiastic Cheng after receiving his certificate.

Check it out! The new company logo was revamped

for this year‟s cycle. Instead of the

ordinary light blue and white, which

was last year‟s design, the colors were

changed to a more luxurious gold and

black. The only real remains of the

original logo were the wings at the

side of the golden shield and the lock

in the center. Everything else has been

updated and a big thank you is in

order to the Design Department for

creating such a beautiful logo and the

new slogan:

What are you thankful for? Here at Safeguard Security, Inc., we want

everyone to feel like family, so we decided to ask

around what family means to our employees,

especially during the up coming holiday season.

Marlene Martinez, H.R. associate “Family to me means an unbreakable bond. I

believe in the quote „blood is thicker than water,‟ so my

family means the world to me. I know for a fact that

nothing can ever get in between the bond I share with

my siblings and parents, even if we go years without

talking, I know they‟ll be there for me like I am for

them.”

Janice Kumar, Design associate “During the holidays, family means so much

more. It‟s a time that brings people closer to each other,

friends and neighbors included. It‟s so rare to see

neighbors that even know each other‟s names now, so

connecting with them and bringing them into your

family is important to me during the holidays.”

Jasur Akramov, CEO “Family is such a hard thing to define, but

family to me means a strong net of supporters, sort of

like your biggest fans. They support you and love you

unconditionally, and that‟s what‟s so important in this

age and time. We turn on the news and we see so much

tragedy, but where are the good old stories of families

helping each other and those around them?”

family is what lays your foundation and builds you up

with values, beliefs and morals. Of course your beliefs

change over time, but it‟s family that creates your

Thanksgiving Day Turkey cookies

Ingredients

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated sugar cookies or

1 package (16 oz) Pillsbury® Ready To Bake! ™ refrigerated sugar cookies (24 cookies)

1 container (16 oz) chocolate

creamy frosting Candy corn Orange decorating icing Miniature candy-coated

chocolate baking bits

Steps 1. Bake cookies as directed on roll or

package. Cool completely, about 10 minutes. 2. Spoon chocolate frosting into 1-quart

Ziploc® Brand storage bag; seal bag.

Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag. On each cookie, pipe frosting on outer

edge of half of cookie. Arrange candy corn over frosting for feathers. 3. Pipe orange icing onto each cookie to

resemble turkey face and feet. Use

orange icing to attach baking bits to

turkey face for eyes. Pipe black gel on baking bits for centers of eyes.
