take this opportunity to congratulate the members of

newsletter offers a platform for showcasing our activi-

Departmental Events

As a part of centenary celebrations of birth anniversary of “His Holiness Jagadguru

Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamijigalavaru” and with the blessings of “His Holiness

Jagadguru Sri Shivarathri DeshikendraMahaswamijigalavaru”, the Department of Industrial En-

gineering and Management organized Two-day National Conference on “Emerging Trends in Engi-

neering Management” on 04th & 05th May 2016 at JSSATE campus, Bengaluru in association

with Indian Institute of Industrial Engineering (IIIE), Indian Institute of Materials Management

(IIMM), Council of Safety Professionals in Karnataka (COSPIK) and Quality Circles Forum of India

(QCFI).

The conference was inaugurated by Dr. Parameshwar P Iyer, Principal Research Scientist, Head-

Placement & Industrial Liaison, Department of Management Studies, IISc, Bengaluru.

Lighting the Lamp by Dr. Parameshwar P Iyer, Principal Research Scientist Head, Placement & Industrial Liaison, Department of Management Studies,

IISc, Bangalore, with Dr. B P Mahesh, and Dr. M Vijaykumar .

Invited talk on “Entrepreneurship” by Dr. Ashok Rao, Former Head, Network Project,

CEDT, IISc, Bengaluru, Guest Faculty –IIM Bengaluru was organized on on 05/02/2016.

An Invited talk on “Professionalism in Teaching” by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal

SCE&M, Mangalore was organized for faculty members of JSSATE, Bangalore, on

6/6/2016.

Faculty Excellence Mr.Yerriswamy Wooluru, Associate Professor , Depar tment of Industr ial Engineer ing and

Management, JSSATE, Bangalore has been conferred the Degree of “DOCTOR OF PHILOSO-

PHY” in Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Sciences for the thesis titled “Studies on Process Ca-

pability Analysis and Integrated Approaches and Perspectives of It” under the guidance of Dr.

Swamy D R, Professor, Dept. of IEM, JSSATE, Bangalore, and Co-Guidance of Dr. P. Nagesh,

Professor, Dept. of Management studies, SJCE Mysore. The Doctoral Degree has been awarded in

the 15th convocation held on Fr iday 27th May 2016 at Visvesvaraya Technological University,

“Jnana Sangama” Belagavi, Karnataka.

Department of IEM organized felicitation ceremony on 25th May 2016 to congratulate and felicitate

UPSC Rank holders “Darshan H V” and “Harsh Chirania” who secured 48th rank and 100th
