Perhaps you also have found that imitating the love and compassion of Jesus is not an easy road? Nor does it come easy to have the constant trust in God that Jesus had. Yet Jesus tells us that this is the way to life. Would you agree? There is a natural human tendency to shy away from what is painful or difficult. Yet if that is our standard pattern of behaviour we will not get far in reaching our potential. We will never find who we are capable of being. We have to acknowledge the dedication of our various groups, hard at work in the background who keep our places spick and span and all to a very high standard. We owe you all a great debt of gratitude, Thank You. It was agreed to postpone it for this weekend due to local circumstances. We invite the children to bring their favourite book or items they use in school, these will be blessed and the intentions of the children, their parents, teachers and the school board of management will be included in our mass. Gospel Reflection (24th Sunday in Ordinary Time)

The path that we will walk with Jesus is narrow. Along the way are challenges that will require our faith in him

Seeing our lives through the lens of the Gospel :

‘Who do you say that I am?’ Imagine Jesus putting this ques-tion to you. How would you answer it? How would you an-swer it, not in words taken from a catechism or textbook, but from your own experience of the significance of Jesus in your life? What does Jesus mean to you? What does his gospel mes-sage mean to you?

Jesus went on to teach his disciples that following him would be hard at times. There would be a price to pay.

When have you found it worthwhile to face difficulties, persevere, ‘carry your cross’ for a while in order to achieve some goal that was important to you?

Jesus call Himself ‘The Way’. He show the way to happiness and He leads us. Jesus taught that our hearts grow bigger the more we give away . When we give a figt, or give a seat to someone on the bus we feel good. When we praise and admire others we feel good. Jesus calls it ‘losing’ to give time to others, like parents who lose sleep caring for children, the sick and lonely.
