Third Sunday of Advent

Say to the faint of heart: Be strong and do not fear. Behold, our God will come, and he will save us.

Stewardship on the Third Sunday of Advent:

Weekend of December 11, 2016 From the loneliness of his prison cell John the Baptist asks of Jesus: “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?” The weeks before Christmas offer much to be joyous about, celebrating with family and friends, the glitter of seasonal decorations, the excitement of gift giving and receiving. But in our midst there are the lonely and neglected, the poor, the hospitalized, the wayward, the

shut-ins. There are those seemingly without hope. To whom should they look? Discipleship in the Lord includes being good stewards of others. Are there those in our family, our neighborhood, our community to whom we can reach out to show

them a sign of Christ’s presence in their midst?

Advent is here Come to Eucharistic Adoration As we await in joyful anticipation the birth of the Christ Child, let us open our hearts and give them to Him. Eucharistic Adoration is held every Tuesday from 8 am to 7 pm and concludes with a 7 pm Mass.

Attending Eucharistic Adoration is a wonderful way to prepare yourself to enter more fully into the celebration of the liturgical season of Advent /Christmas. Come and spend some quiet time with Almighty God. He is always available to you and just waiting for you to allow Him to love you and comfort you. You may stop in at any time for any length of time and pray, read or just be silent with Our Lord. What an awesome God we serve!

At present, we are in need of an adorer for the 1 pm hour.

If you are interested in knowing more about Adoration or interested in signing-up to be an adorer, you may

call Joann Di Liberto at 610 932 8962 or you may leave your contact information in the grey box (next to

the Statue of the Sacred Heart) in the Narthex and Joann will contact you.

Like Lent, Advent is a penitential season, so the priest normally wears purple. But on Gaudete Sunday,

having passed the midpoint of Advent, the Church lightens the mood a little, and the priest may wear rose

vestments. The change in color provides us with encouragement to continue our spiritual

preparation—especially prayer and fasting—for Christmas.
