Second Sunday of Easter:
April 23, 2017
That we help our parish create a welcoming
environment where people feel included
and not excluded.
“Jesus came and stood among them and said to them,
‘Peace be with you’.” John 20:19
Are you good at making people feel welcome? When
you meet someone new, a new neighbor, a new work
colleague, a new parishioner, do you make them feel at
home? Many of us can probably do a much better job at
this. When we make people feel welcome, we make them
feel like they are included instead of being excluded. A
simple “hello” and a smile goes a long way.

Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible
If you would like to have a deeper relationship with God and a better
understanding of your faith, then join us for Unlocking the Mystery of the
Bible. You will not only benefit personally from being part of this study; you will also help to bring about a profound renewal in our parish as we grow closer to Christ.
Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Community will begin Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. For more information or to sign
up, contact Ariel Mendoza at (281)489-8720 or [email protected]. We will start
registering for this bible study in the Faith Formation Office on May 1, 2017 at 12noon.
Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible helps you uncover the story woven through Scripture with its clever narrative
approach and ingenious color-coded Bible Timeline. It is a great way to get the “big picture” of the Bible and see how our Catholic Faith is rooted in Scripture. You’ll see how the Bible reveals God’s loving plan for your life, and you will
learn helpful ways to put your faith into practice.
The study includes a series of eight informative and engaging
half-hour videos presented by Jeff Cavins. Each video will be
followed by a lively group discussion.
The Altar Society cordially invites the Senior Members of the Parish (55 & above) to their
Annual Spring Luncheon on May 3rd at 12:00p.m.
Registration begins at 11:30a.m. Come and enjoy!!
New Envelopes Have Arrived!
Have you received yours? Our new weekly envelopes reflect our logo and our mission! They look great!
Every household that was registered at the time of our deadline should have received envelopes. This is a great
tool for stewardship. Every family will be able to put an envelope in the collection basket, demonstrating stew-
ardship to all of the children, teens and young adults of the parish. If you use electronic giving, you will still
receive envelopes. There is a box to check to signify that you gave online. This is also great for communica-
tion. Please look through the packet for a letter from Fr. Tom!
If you have an address change, telephone number change, family update or just need a correction, please call
the parish office at 281-489-8720 or send an email to admin@sacredheartmanvel.
Thank you so much for your continued generosity!
Colossians 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do from the heart, as for the Lord and not for others, knowing that
you will receive from the Lord the due payment of the inheritance; be slaves of the Lord Christ.

llegan lejos.
