Vacation Bible School July 25 – 29 9:00 am to 12:00 noon

At Pets unleashed VBS, kids dig into Jesus’ loving care through a relatable, pet-inspired adventure! This VBS is filled with incredible Bible-learning experiences kids see, hear, and touch. Team-building games, cool Bible songs and multisen-sory Bible Adventures are just a few of the activities that help faith flow into real life. (Since everything is hands-on, kids might get a little messy. Be sure to send them in play clothes and sturdy shoes.)

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis.

K thru 5th – Children are placed in classes based on their grade level for 2015 – 16.

Registration fee: (Non-Refundable) $25.00 per child – This amount includes daily curriculum, craft supplies and activities for the week.

Registration forms may be picked up at the Faith Formation Office located in the Parish Life Center. Submit your

completed VBS forms along with payment to the Faith Formation Office.

We currently count on Monday mornings (with the occasion-al Tuesday due to holidays) beginning at 9 am. You need to be able to follow direc-tions and enjoy getting to know other parishioners in a small setting. We work with your availability, but do need you to be dependable. Parish Secretary Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Community, a parish of over 3,200 families in the Manvel area South of Houston, is seeking a full-time, bi-lingual Parish Secretary. The Parish Secretary performs general secretarial and administrative duties, and routine clerical work. The Parish Secretary is the first point of contact and must be pleasant and helpful at all times. This position will be 9 am until 5 pm on Mondays through Fridays. Some of the important duties include, but are not limited to: Duties and responsibilities: Available in the office during office hours. Answers the phone in a polite, cheerful manner. Graciously greets people and directs them to the appropriate place. Schedules Baptisms, weddings and funerals. Records Baptisms, weddings and deaths celebrated here in Sacramental Registers. Maintains Sacramental records, Including recording Sacraments reported from other churches. Types and mails letters as requested by staff. Provides secretarial and clerical services to the pastor, business administrator, and parish ministries and organizations as requested. Provides, receptionist services for the parish office including the recording of clear and accurate phone messages (special Mass times, etc.), the handling of routine questions about policies, events, etc., and the greeting of visitors. Processes and inputs parish registrations. Mails welcome letters to new parishioners. Types announcements (English and Spanish). Composes the Bulletin including translating articles into Spanish. Submits approved Bulletin to publisher by deadline. Prepares announcements for Mass as directed by the Pastor. Receives funds/payments, issue receipts and logs information. Schedules Mass intentions and receives offerings for them (issues receipts and logs information). Maintain Admin email account. Assist with the Church bazaar as requested. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Other duties as assigned. Skills/Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff, employees and public. Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Publisher). Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to multi-line phone system, computers, copiers, calculators and facsimile machines. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and oral, is a must. Individual must have well-developed people skills in interacting with all who come into the parish office. High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum three years of experience of varied and progressive secretarial responsibilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters. Ability to solve practical problems when dealing with a variety of situations. Understanding of the Sacraments in the Catholic Church. Ability to multi-task and work with interruptions. Faith Formation Secretary Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Community, a parish of over 3,200 families in the Manvel area South of Houston, is seeking a full-time, bi-lingual Faith Formation Secretary. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, Non-Exempt position that reports to the administratively to the Business Administrator and supports the Coordinator of Elementary Faith Formation, the Coordinator of Youth and Young Adult Faith Formation, the Coordinator of Adult and Family Faith Formation as well as the Pastor, as needed. Some of the important duties include, but are not limited to: Provides receptionist services for the parish and Faith Formation offices. Answers the phone in a polite, cheerful manner. Graciously greets people, answer their questions or direct them to the appropriate place. Lock and unlock classrooms and cabinets for all Faith Formation classes. Translate information into Spanish as requested. Maintain files as requested. Make copies as requested. Collect Baptismal Certificates for First Communion, Special Sacraments and Confirmations. Assist with mail outs (copies, addressing and stuffing envelopes). Collect and record Faith Formation payments (issue receipts and log information). Provide assistance as needed. Assist Faith Formation teachers as requested. Maintain and distribute Faith Formation correspondence (calendars, parental letters, etc.). Record Sacraments in the appropriate Sacramental Registers per Archdiocesan guidelines. Provide phone assistance for the Parish Secretary when needed. Process Faith Formation registrations. Provide staff coverage for evening building usage which includes locking up rooms and buildings. Other duties as assigned. Assist with the Church bazaar as requested. Will involve evening and weekend hours. Skills/Qualifications: Advanced knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office Products (Excel and Word). Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate standard office equipment including but not limited to computers, copiers, calculators and facsimile machines. “Protegiendo a los Niños de Dios” – Programa de VIRTUS

Prevenir el abuso sexual de los niños es la meta del programa VIRTUS seleccionado por la Arquidiócesis de Galveston-Houston. “Protegiendo los niños de Dios para adultos” educa al clero, personal y voluntarios que trabajan con niños, sobre el abuso sexual de niños y las maneras de crear un ambiente seguro para los niños. La sesión de 3 horas incluye videos y discusiones facilitadas que se centran en la prevención del abuso y la protección de niños. Los adultos aprenden cómo reconocer los signos y los indicios de que un adulto es un posible peligro para los niños y cómo saber que están abusando o explotándolos de cierta manera. Usted aprenderá qué medidas puede tomar la comunidad de fe para crear un ambiente seguro para todos los niños de Dios y cómo responder cuando los adultos se comportan de una manera sospechosa. Se requiere que el clero, el personal y los voluntarios (mayores de 18 años) que tienen contacto regular con los niños y los jóvenes asistan al entrenamiento. A los demás adultos se les invita y anima a que participen como parte del compromiso de la iglesia de hacer del mundo un lugar seguro para todos nuestros niños. “Manteniendo Viva la Promesa” Es un curso mandatorio de renovación que fue efectivo en el 2011-2012.Empleados y voluntarios son requeridos de atender “Manteniendo Viva la Promesa” después de cinco años de haber atendido el programa “Protegiendo a los niños de Dios”. Es una sesión de hora y media que contiene un video que provee concientización continua para prevenir abuso sexual de niños. El material que se cubre en “Manteniendo Viva la Promesa” es diseñado para identificar y reforzar las lecciones del programa original “Protegiendo a los niños de Dios”, clarificando algunos de los aspectos de las sesiones con más retos y fortalece la habilidad de los participantes a reconocer conductas riesgosas de los adultos en su entorno y tomar acción para prevenir situaciones que amenacen situaciones potencialmente. Secretaria para Formación de Fe La Iglesia del Sagrado Corazón de Jeas Comunidad Católica es una Parroquia de más de 3,200 fam9iliasen la área de Manvel que esta al sur de Houston, Nosotros estamos buscando a una secretaria para Formación de Fe que sea bilingüe y tendría que trabajar tiempo completó. La secretaria de formación de fe necesita poder hacer trabajos generales de secretaria y administrativos también trabajos rutinas de la oficina. Esta posición es de tiempo competo, 40 horas a la semana y reporta administrativamente a la administradora de negocios y ayudara a la Coordinadora de formación de fe de Primaria, a la Coordinadora de formación de fe de los Jóvenes y Adultos Jóvenes, y a la Coordinadora de formación de fe de Adultos y Familias, también tendría que asistir al Padre cuando sea necesario. Algunas de las funciones importantes incluyen, pero no se limitan a: Proporciona servicios de recepcionista para la parroquia y oficina de Formación de Fe. Contesta el teléfono de una manera amable, y alegre. Generosamente saluda a la gente, responder a sus preguntas y los dirigiré a los lugares apropiados. Recibir actas de bautismo para la primera comunión, Sacramentos Especiales y confirmaciones. Ayudar con envíos de correo (copias, direccionamiento y llenar sobres). Recoger y registrar los pagos de Formación de Fe (dar recibos y registrar información). Proporcionar asistencia según sea necesario. Ayudar a las maestras de Formación de Fe cuando sea necesario. Mantener y distribuir la correspondencia Formación Fe (calendarios, cartas para los padres, etc.). Registrar Sacramentos en los correspondientes Registros Sacramentales según las reglas de la Arquidiócesis. Proporcionar asistencia telefónica a la Secretaria de la Parroquia cuando sea necesario. Procesar registraciones para Formación de Fe. Proporcionar ayuda al personal en las tardes cuando el edificio este ocupado, que significa cerrar los cuartos y el edifico. Ayudar en el bazar de la Iglesia cuando sea necesario. Contribuye al esfuerzo del equipo para lograr resultados relacionados según sea necesario. Otras tareas que le sean asignadas. Habilidades / Calificaciones: Capacidad para comunicarse de manera efectiva, tanto verbalmente como por escrito con el personal, empleados y el público.
