PALM SUNDAY OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD

REMINDER – 50/50 RAFFLE TO SUPPORT SACRED HEART PARISH – Envelopes are on the radiators in church. All it takes is $5.00 and you could be a winner. The next drawing will be on Monday, March 28th in the vestibule of the church after the 8:30 morning Mass. As of March 14th we have collected $300.00. The 50/50 share is $150.00.

Fr. Fullum continues to improve each day and is now in Ozanam Hall for rehab. Keep him in your prayers and if you wish to send him cards, they may be dropped off at the rectory and we will see that he gets them.

SPORTS Annual Golf Outing at Forest Park will be on June 17th. Tee off at 8AM. $175.00. Call Bob at 718-847-4682.

If you wish to donate a plant for our Easter Altar in memory of a deceased loved one, you may do so by placing the name of your loved one, and your name, together with a $10 donation in an envelope, to the attention of Fr. Fullum at the rectory.

34th Annual Pax Christi Metro New York WAY OF THE CROSS March 25th at 47th Street and 1st Ave-nue at 8:30 AM. The Good Friday Way of the Cross is a modern day enactment of the Stations of the Cross, pray-ing for peace and justice on the streets of our city. Pope Francis has declared 2016 as the Year of Mercy, join with us as we reflect on “LIVING LIVES OF MERCY WITH CARE AND COMPASSION”. The walk will take place at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza (47th Street and 1st Avenue) and proceed along 42 Street to between 8th and 9th Avenues. PLEASE WEAR OR CARRY A CROSS.

Services are available for pregnant women and families with children age 18 and under who live in Queens, East New York and Ca-narsie. BEREAVEMENT MEETING will be on Wednesday, Apr il 6th from 1:30-3:30 pm in the Parish Ministry Office which is located in the convent basement. PARISH PRAYER SHAWL MEETING will meet on Apr il 14th in the Parish Ministry Office following the Senior Meeting. We are always looking for interested people to join the group.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK MS. JOANNE GANGI

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday. There will be a plant sale following all the weekend Masses. This is Holy Week and a short school week. There are sev-eral special events taking place during the next three days. Monday is our Science Fair. Exhibits will be displayed in the gym from grades K-8. Six projects from each grade have been chosen for judging beginning at 1:00 pm. At 7:00 pm our Fair will be open to all families for viewing. At that time the results of the judging will be announced. All are welcome to see the marvelous projects our students have submitted. The Robotics Club and Cinderella practice will meet on Monday. Spring photos will be taken on Tuesday. Students may wear an appropriate outfit of their parents’ choosing. Keep in mind that students are still required to wear school shoes or sneakers since that area will not be photographed. Chess Club and band will meet on Tuesday. On Wednesday, many classes will be celebrating Easter. Some of our younger grades will be having an Egg Hunt in the meadow. At 12:15 we will re-enact the Stations of the Cross. Stu-dents from several grades will participate. All are invited. Dismissal will be from school. Congratulations to our Robotics Club. Last week they competed at the Javits Center. They brought home a sec-ond place trophy for Robot Programming. Overall they placed 11th out of 81 teams. Outstanding!
