Reflections on St. Joseph by Pope Francis: (Continued)

2. A tender and loving father

The history of salvation is worked out “in hope

against hope” (Rom 4:18), through our weaknesses.

All too often, we think that God works only through

our better parts, yet most of his plans are realized in

and despite our frailty. Thus Saint Paul could say:

“To keep me from being too elated, a thorn was

given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to

torment me, to keep me from being too elated. Three

times I appealed to the Lord about this, that it would

leave me, but he said to me: ‘My grace is sufficient

for you, for power is made perfect in weakness’” (2 Cor 12:7-9).

Since this is part of the entire economy of salvation, we must learn to look

upon our weaknesses with tender mercy.[12]

Knight/Family of the Month Council 2614 congratulates Michael Metzinger for being

selected Knight / Family of the Month for December 2020.

Michael is a Third Degree Knight and Insurance Member,

having been a Knight for 46 years. Michael is a Past Grand

with building upkeep and repair needs around our parish.

Recently he has been refurbishing light fixtures for the

church and school entrances. During the recent snow events

he brought his tractor in for clearing of the parking lots and

sidewalks. Michael and his wife, Jamilee, are both

Extraordinary Ministers and are active with church

cleaning. Jamilee is currently overseeing the church

cleaning schedule and supplies. They have been

instrumental over the last year with their healthcare

experience cleaning and disinfecting the church so that

Masses and services may continue. They continue to show

and teach our Catholic faith in their actions and example.

Michael and Jamilee have 4 adult sons: Matthew, Patrick,

FORMATION OF THE HEART RETREAT: On this

retreat (Jan 22nd - Jan 24th), participants will learn to face

their woundedness and allow it to draw them into a deeper

communion with Christ where He will transform it to

reflect his beauty. The weekend is designed so that

transformation may take place within the hearts of all who

attend. There will be opportunities for Mass, confession,

private prayer with our Lord in adoration, and a time to be

prayed with individually.

Reflexiones sobre San José del Papa Francisco:

ternura[12].
