Through his Paschal Mystery, the Lord Jesus redeemed
the human race and gave perfect glory to the Father.
By dying, Christ destroyed our death; by rising, he
restored our life. For this reason, the Easter Triduum,
when we celebrate the suffering, Death and Resurrec-
tion of our Lord, is the high point of the Liturgical
Year. The Easter Solemnity is to the year what Sunday
is to the week.
The celebration of the Easter Triduum opens with the
evening Mass of the Lord`s Supper, reaches its climax
in the Easter Vigil, and closes with Evening Prayer II
on Easter Sunday. (GNLY, nos. 19-19)
THE SACRED PASCHAL TRIDUUM
Instituted at the conclusion of the International Year of
Youth and in conjunction with Saint John Paul II`s World
Youth Day gatherings, Palm Sunday has included this
observance since 1985.
``Young people must say to the world: it is good to follow
Jesus! You bring us the joy of faith and tell us that we must
live the faith always with a young heart.” (POPE FRANCIS)
Is the week which precedes the great Feast of the Resur-
rection on Easter Sunday: it includes the last days of Lent
and the beginning of Easter Triduum.
During Holy Week, the Church celebrates the mysteries
of salvation accomplished by Christ in the last days of his
life on earth, beginning with his messianic entrance into Jerusalem.
PLEASE SUPPORT: One of our parishioners, Bill Barnes has written a book entitled - Pure Love That’s Us. He will be speak-ing about it in the church foyer, after Masses on the weekend of May 4 & 5. Please come and support Bill.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL will be holding their annual Community Easter Dinner on Easter Sunday,
April 21st at Sacred Heart Auditorium at Ingledew Street behind the Cathedral. Volunteers are
needed from 10:15 am to 2:00 pm to help serve food and clean-up.
Please consider sharing your Easter Sunday with those less fortunate. To ensure we have enough
volunteers, it is imperative that you register by calling the Drop-In Centre weekdays between 9am and 4pm at
250-564-7871 or 250-564-7836.
Donations of fruit pies would be very much appreciated. They can be dropped off at the Drop-In Centre [1220 -
2nd Avenue] up to Thursday, April 18th at 4:00 pm. Please wrap and label the pies beforehand.
Sacred Heart School will stage a school-wide musical play on Thursday, May 16th. Our presentation this year will be "Sleeping Beauty". Rehearsals are in progress and many very enthusiastic young actors have signed up! Mark your calendars for a wonderful evening of drama, songs and music!
All of our classes are currently rehearsing for the upcoming Prince George Speech Arts & Drama Festival which is scheduled to take place at the beginning of May at UNBC. Students are involved in Choral Speaking, Choric Drama and Shakespeare Scenes. Keep up the good work, Sacred Heart!
Our Lenten act of giving was the Brown Bag Lunch program. On Friday, April 12th, brown lunch bags filled by the students and staff were used as part of the evening sandwich and coffee service on that day. Sincere thanks to our school families for their terrific participation in this annual event.
Sacred Heart School students and staff will attend the Stations of the Cross during Holy Week. The readings will be given by a selection of students for this solemn prayer service.
Sacred Heart School would like to wish all parishioners, school families and our benefactors peace and joy during the season of Easter.

reproductive health. NFP helps married couples respect
God's design for married love.
There will be a Billings Ovulation Method presentation
at the lower hall of Sacred Heart Cathedral on Saturday,

science and the practice of this method of fertility
