Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord, Welcome!!

Thanks for joining the Sacred Heart worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the Fourth Sunday of Lent. We are blessed through your presence and prayerful

participation. May the Word of God enlighten your mind and the Bread of Life nourish your spirit. This weekend, I welcome Rev. John Collins, a Redemptorist Priest, to our Parish community. Father Collins will be preaching at all Masses in

preparation for our Lenten Parish Mission. Our Parish Mission will be held this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:00pm in Church. Born and raised in Boston, Father Collins comes to us from his present assignment as Campus Minister at Gwynedd Mercy University. Hopefully, you and your family are able to participate in this special time of prayer. Gift yourself with an hour of prayer, praise, scripture and insightful preaching! In today’s First Reading from the Book of Chronicles we are told that the “princes,” “priests” and “people” “added infidelity to infidelity.” Out of compassion, the Lord “early and often” sent messengers to them. These “messengers” were not welcomed. These “messengers of God,” the prophets, were mocked. Their warnings were “despised.” It seems like the princes, priests and people did not take correction well. Sounds like many of us! Although I get defensive when someone corrects me or offers constructive criticism, I know I am a better priest and person because of it. Most of that constructive criticism has come from family and friends in their care and concern for me. How well do you respond when a messenger of God corrects you, points out a negative aspect of your attitude or behavior? How well do you receive constructive

criticism from someone who cares about you? Have you ever thought of someone as a messenger of God for you? Peace be with you!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Happy St. Joseph’s Day!

God bless, Fr. McKee

CON’T

Every single one of us is completely unique. All our situations bear the unique circumstances that make up our lives. Consider a third kind of situation which might prevent us from coming to the Sacrament of Reconciliation. # 3: "I go frequently, but I confess the same serious things over and over again. I can't seem to change and I keep coming to Confession because I want to keep going to Communion, but I wonder if I should." It is so important to keep coming to the Sacrament. We need God's grace and mercy. Without it, our efforts to stay close to the Lord are even more handicapped. The issue for us is to change our patterns. Some of our patterns might be deeply embedded habits and may require a genuine commitment and the help of others. Others may have become addictions which require therapy or a 12 step program. What starts to change our hearts is to focus on leaving the celebration of the Sacrament with deeper and deeper gratitude. The more we thank our Lord for his love and mercy is easier it is to resist temptation
